launcher performance and animations - Redmi Note 9 Questions & Answers

Hello, I am having many fluency problems with the launcher, these problems are solved for a few minutes by clearing the cache memory of the launcher, but it is not a permanent solution, I tried installing higher versions of the system launcher but it was not solved either. The problem is seen in the animations, they are really slow and not at all fluid. I'm writing this from a translator, sorry for the writing problems.
I would like to know if someone has the same problem and if there is a solution, thanks

[Q] Browser issue with ICS ROMs

I have recently installed the AOKP GalaxianSoup Rom, and I was really happy with it because it is really smooth, however I found an issue which forces me to use Honeycomb rather than ICS. When I use the stock browser after a while it becomes unresponsive. It doesn't load pages and even if I force close it still I can't view any webpages. I tried to figure out what causes this and it might be related to Flash content. I also observed this problem with AOSP and CM9 Roms too. I am asking everyone: is this a common issue or it can be only found at me. What can be done to resolve this problem? Thanks for the answers in advance!

There is a common browser issue similar to what you described, but Force stopping the browser fixes this issue every time. To prevent it happening you can set Plugins to On demand. And yes, it is related to Flash.

Is it possible that there will be some kind of fix for this in the future?

Problem Chrome Browser in CM9 SGS i9000

Hi everyone!
I have a problem with Chrome Browser in my android, because it starts but say that I have not all I need to handle with its requierements.
I hace CM9 from 25 July 2012, and havenĀ“t done any change as it comes from cyanogenmod.
I have searched in this forum and in google, and people say that it works properly in CM9 in their sgs i9000. Also, I have seen that someone fixed it by changing the build.prop id. I've tried it, and the same problem occurs.
Has anyone any idea of what to do for making it works? I want to try this browser and get my own opinion about it, as I've heard that somo people say it is the best, and others not.
If anyone has fixed it already or have it working in their phone, please tell me what is their configuration to try it by my own.
Thanks in advance.
Google Chrome for Android takes a lot of space. On our phones with CM9 or other ICS Roms we have a issue with the partition size of where the apps are stored. If you have a lot of apps it could be that you don't have enough space in the datadata partition. You can try unistalling some apps or clearing the cache/data from some of you apps and see if this helps. You could also try one of the data partition fixes if you haven't already.
Having said that this could be unrelated to your issue but is possible. Usually if you have this apps start force closing or you get a message about partition being full.
It doesn't work
Thanks for the information, but unfortunately I have tried al you tell me and nothing happens. The same problem.
Maybe it is imposible to make chrome browser works in my sgs i9000 with cm9. What a pity! Anyone has other things to try?

Phone is soooo slow!!!

Afternoon peeps,
Recently my Mini 2 has just ground to an unusable, good-for-nothing pile of crap.
- It is soooo slow to do anything.
- It rotates the screen when it's not being rotated.
- It locks in the middle of performing tasks.
- It blacks out for 30 seconds or so before becoming responsive again.
- Voice on Google Maps or Runkeeper apps keeps glitching.
I'm running CM12 [12-20150411-NIGHTLY-memul] with TWRP recovery.
Reinstalling the ROM returns the phone to a normal function, temporarily, before descending into chaos.
Clearing the cache partition sort of works....for a little while.
I/O Scheduler is ROW.
Storage isn't anywhere near full with 3.65Gb free.
Available RAM is on average about 170Mb
My thoughts are that an app is causing this.
Can anyone throw some troubleshooting ideas into the pot?
Thanks

Clearing cache and ram just makes it worst as Android works different from PC's.
It seems you're in the good path as just need to find what APP is doing that. Providing that you run CM12 without extras and its ok, than try install/uninstall one app at the time until you find the one its causing trouble

I thought that might be the case. Also, I'm gettimg a lot of Background App crashes/Not responding, but there're no patterns. OneFootball, Media Storage, System UI, Google+, Facebook Messenger all make an appearance.
I think i may have to start from a fresh again

Well CM12 its a bit buggy so if you gonna run high end apps i suggest stock ROM.
Regarding RAM, android manages that pretty well for you. The more ram in use, the better things work. (if you know how RAM works) same thing with cache. So don't use stupid programs to clear RAM as they are useless.
You can google for more info.

Interesting, the reason I'm on CM with this HTC is because the Stock ROM also showed the same symptoms, so I moved to CM to try to cure. I really liked the stock UI and was reluctant to move away from it.
I do know RAM and that does make sense - more stuff in RAM = quicker access to resouces, but surely its still a good troubleshooting step to clear down if these problems arise?

Like i said, Android will clear the apps when it need to open resources for another.
Reading back your posts, you might need to do full re-installation .
If you install Google Apps bundle, start with re-flashing that. if still no good then go for the all ROM.
But you say that it also happened with stock rom so finding the app that's causing that its crucial.
Also note the apps that stay open in the background (click the 2 Squares) only nine stay open but all you need its a game to keep eating all the resources.

I've begun by uninstalling OneFootball and Facebook and performance has improved somewhat. This might be quite a long process as im going go leave a day or so between each action.
I have fully reinstalled before, but selected to restore data and apps from backup. Maybe I'll try setting up as a new device if it comes to it. Want to avoid that tho.

Did you find a solution? I'm facing about the same issue with my HTC One Mini 2 after installing CM12. It ran perfectly smooth in the beginning but now it is soooo slow and it takes forever to load almost any apps (especially Facebook and Snapchat).

I think it's either Facebook or Facebook Messenger, probably more messenger.
I first uninstalled Facebook Messenger and performance improved. Still a little glitchy, but much better.
Then I uninstalled Facebook. Not much change.
Facebook is now reinstalled, but messenger isn't and I've been happier with the phone.
I'm still getting some background apps crashing, but not as much as before uninstalling FB messenger.
Not really a 'solution' as it could be different for you, but as mentioned previously, start uninstalling an app at a time. Leave a few days inbetween so you can tell if it changed anything. If not, reinstall and try again.
Same issue here with mini 2..i dont have facebook or that football app

Recent Apps Switcher completely black 80% of time

Hello,
I really love my P20 Pro (and also the normal P20 lying around here) but there is one thing that annoys the heck out of me, with both these phones.
I updated them both to the newest version (which is 9.0.0.203 for me, at least for the pro, not sure about the non-pro, but it's up to date as well) and everytime (or at least at 80% of the time) I hit the rectangle recent apps it's just a black screen showing me a slight bar of my background and how much RAM I use. Nothing else. I need to close up the recent apps and open it again, hoping it works that time. (Also added a Screenshot of it down there.)
Anyone has the same problem or a solution to this?

Do you use a different launcher than default one? I think it's related to that. Also, after every major upgrade,it's recommended a factory reset(make a backup to your photos,contacts,etc...NOT APPS,only their data) then factory reset the phones. I think you did not do that after upgrading.

I use nova launcher. I could try using the stock launcher for a bit and see if that fixes that.
And yeah, I didn't factory reset afterwards. I might try it on the normal P20 first and see if that works.
Only thing I tried was wiping the cache partition but it didn't help with the problem.

The most probable cause is Nova Launcher...it might not be compatible with the new system...remember,that this is not clean android,it's EMUI personalized. Try resetting if changing launcher does not fix the problem.

So Huawei really wants you to force you to use their own launcher? I really consider just living on with the bug since I hate ditching nova just because of that, since I've been using it like... 6 or 7 years now.
But I'll try switching to the stock one for a few days and yeah.

I liked Nova too,it's only an assumption, maybe in a future update of Nova this will be fixed. Maybe it's not EMUI's fault...apps need to be adapted to the new android and customizations from different manufacturers...so...maybe this will be fixed with an update from Nova. Or even from EMUI,but generally,if every other apps work,it might be the app fault, not the system. EMUI is a little different,so some options are not the same with stock android.

I think the consensus is that One UI is the cause of the lag. Lineage OS, without One UI is smooth.

Thanks I'll try it.
Yeah it helped. Is it worth overclocking this device? I will loose all original OTAs I guess?
