I've just replaced the LCD display on my kaiser and it works fine as a display, but the touch function doesn't work at all. The part numbers are the same (60H00091-00M) and so is the type number (TD028TTEB3).
I don't think I have damaged anything in assembly or disassembly - using instructions from this forum. The screen was new and the old one worked before being dinkled with a key in my pocket.
Is there anything I may have missed, easy to damage or misalign etc which I can check before hunting for a new screen or phone?
Thanks,
You need a digitizer too. Most ebay shops only sell a replacement lcd screens without that part (if you got it from there). So if yours didnt say it had a digitizer on it/with it, you won't have any touch input. The part number might match a good copy from China or whatever, but might not be an original screen.
Thanks for the reply.
This screen was brand new and did have the digitiser, but I'm guessing it was second or reject stock.
The ribbon cable connection from the digitiser to the screen had been re-soldered badly and one leg was shorted to the frame. I've resoldered this and the screen is now working properly again.
I have HTC HD2 bought from t-mobile UK (no t-mobile logo on phone but was on box)
LCD broken from inside (during cover opening) digitizer looks ok
I looking for LCD replacement and found this one on amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004CELO46/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=A1XMD4WZGTY73Z
Two questions:
1.Genuine HTC product?
2.Correct one for my model?
Or any other store?
Looks like that is solder type.
You first need to see if your device is solder 295 model type or socket connecter 300 type
Assembly of screen to Digitizer & refitting in general has to be spot on & without rough handling to have a good looking & functional result ...

N00b question here
If i want change the whole screen with a preassembled unit (lcd+touch) do i still need to know if the touch panel need soldering? or i can choose whatever i want?
Thanks in advance
You can use whatever you want but the 300 type is a better assembly & the clip makes future repair options easier ...
Does this Display Lcd need to be changed? pic attached
@ Mister B could you tell ,if the lcd needs to be changed looking at the pic i'm attaching, ive a Tmous hd2 suddenly i see a brown patch inside my screen when ever any white screen appears, such as browser or start up stick together, any white background shows this brown patch around the white screen u can see in the picture i've attached, the display works fine, even digitizer is perfect, touch has no issues,no reboots or heating, but a huge brown patch on white sceen, please let me know what can be done.
Looks like a sort of oily watery stain !
Does the mark move at all or seem fixed to one position ?
Is the HD2 history known & is it original screen assembly.
Has device had any liquid incidents ?
1)No the brown patch don't move
2) yes its the original Assembly still no service, the void sticker still on
3) I've never come across any watery surface or liquid drop, but yes chances of moisture ,but no real water damage, the square water damage sticker inside the phone is complete white, but yes the water damage sticker on battery is pinkish white, not all white, but like i said probably moisture
so what's your take Mister B,is it a hardware problem or it needs lcd replacement? any tinkering required?
Hard call without seeing the device with my own eyes, I would assume it is LCD & perhaps liquid stain or lcd leakage at back of LCD & backlight on white screen highlights it.
You need to look closely and determine if stain mark appears to be on top of LCD or more internal & towards back of LCD.
Seen similar fault caused by battery swelling & over heating & the heat & extra pressure causing LCD to fail so worth inspecting battery to see if showing signs of swelling ...
Battery water tabs go pinkish just through handling them so the tab in device give best guide on fluid damage ...
From picture it looks to be towards back of LCD but images can be very misleading ...
Being a TMOUS unit you will have the 300type socket connector digi/lcd making dismantling simpler.
If you are not sure on your ability to dismantle & rebuild you are best to strip first & then buy parts & this will also allow better examination & correct part purchase ...
HD2 is not easiest device to strip so think twice & use up-most care or a repair specialist ...
@Mister B thanks much, so what can be done,if its a liquid stain or lcd leak on the back? replace lcd? or is there some easy way out?? and if replace lcd.will i have to buy digitizer as well or lcd is enough?
No easy way out.
Ideally need open device & then buy parts required & rebuild.
I would imagine it will be LCD & only require Digitizer should it become damaged during strip-down.
HD2 is not an easy device to work on without experience & many without experience damage more than they fix ...
If not confident or experienced yourself get some qoutes for LCD in your area ...

I broke my touch screen and replaced touch screen at the authorized service center "TVS Electronics at Ashok Nagar Chennai" India on 22-Sep-015.
When I went home the phone did not turn ON but was heating at the back side top portion.
I went back to the service center and they reset the phone stating there was dust in the charging port. (What it has to with the switching off. I don't know) The issue came up again after a week. This time the service center kept the phone for observation and retuned it. They said they did not find any issue.
But I observed there are 6 led lights visible at the bottom of the phone. This is visible more in the white background. (I have enclosed a photo of this taken from another mobile)
I was told by the service center all MI3 phone comes with this type of bleeding because it is a low end phone. I am one did not notice this in the old screen. In the service center I checked one Redmi phone and it did not have this bleeding. Redmi is cheaper than MI3.
I would like to know
whether this bleeding
1] is a normal phenomena of the phone?
2] an occurrence happens with some of the touch screen? [If so can I demand them to replace?]
3] the service center employee replaced the screen with local make instead of original MI3 screen to make money?
Kindly help me.
Hey,
No its not that.
I think they just didn't their job right.
Although I read it in the reviews of the device that
Unfortunately, the brightness of the screen is uneven with the backlight source being pretty visible at the top of the screen. When you have a white page opened on the screen you can easily notice the gradual brightness falloff from top to bottom

That is on gsmarena.
I think the display is original but they did a lousy job.
Contact Xiaomi somehow and escalate the problem, ask the SC personnel to replace it properly and that you won't accept it like that. Its most probably a job screwed up.
Try replacing the screen urself. Order parts from online shopping websites.
They definitely did not fix it right and every mi3 dont come with this problem.
Hello,
My phone was knocked out of my hand by a friend accidentally, and sadly a hairline crack has appeared on the front glass panel.
Now, a portion of the display (perhaps 15% of it) simply doesn't respond to touch at all. Why is this the case when the entirely smashed glass of my old Moto G can still register touch? Is there anything I can do to fix it, and if not, how much would a repair cost if I send it directly to Sony?
Part of the screen doesn't work. When I touch specific areas it doesn't recognize my touches.
I tried to draw horizontal and vertical lines in the drawing app to find out if it is the screen or what. I think it is due to the digitizer. I am afraid that the digitizer doesn't work as intended.
Here is a screenshot of the drawing app.

I asked a technician what is the problem and the price and he said screen and the part of the body should be replaced which costs approximately 70USD which seemed expensive to me.
Do you think that if I change 10USD digitizer, will it be fixed?
