MI3 New touch screen bleeding at the bottom - Mi 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

https://goo.gl/photos/R1ns1GnFzMq26kSXA
I broke my touch screen and replaced touch screen at the authorized service center "TVS Electronics at Ashok Nagar Chennai" India on 22-Sep-015.
When I went home the phone did not turn ON but was heating at the back side top portion.
I went back to the service center and they reset the phone stating there was dust in the charging port. (What it has to with the switching off. I don't know) The issue came up again after a week. This time the service center kept the phone for observation and retuned it. They said they did not find any issue.
But I observed there are 6 led lights visible at the bottom of the phone. This is visible more in the white background. (I have enclosed a photo of this taken from another mobile)
I was told by the service center all MI3 phone comes with this type of bleeding because it is a low end phone. I am one did not notice this in the old screen. In the service center I checked one Redmi phone and it did not have this bleeding. Redmi is cheaper than MI3.
I would like to know
whether this bleeding
1] is a normal phenomena of the phone?
2] an occurrence happens with some of the touch screen? [If so can I demand them to replace?]
3] the service center employee replaced the screen with local make instead of original MI3 screen to make money?
Kindly help me.

Hey,
No its not that.
I think they just didn't their job right.
Although I read it in the reviews of the device that
Unfortunately, the brightness of the screen is uneven with the backlight source being pretty visible at the top of the screen. When you have a white page opened on the screen you can easily notice the gradual brightness falloff from top to bottom

That is on gsmarena.
I think the display is original but they did a lousy job.

Contact Xiaomi somehow and escalate the problem, ask the SC personnel to replace it properly and that you won't accept it like that. Its most probably a job screwed up.

Try replacing the screen urself. Order parts from online shopping websites.

They definitely did not fix it right and every mi3 dont come with this problem.

Diamond Screen Problem help

Recieved my Diamond over a week ago and i notice when i press the side of the screen to call or text (number 4 when dialling) i get a small ripple effect, like pressing against an LCD screen. Is this normal?
Not here you must be pressing kind o hard.
Did you tweak the pressure on display? That helps muccchhhh.
I get my first diamnd with this fault on left side...only little tap and it was like touch of nontouch screen and even worse and in the place of this effect there was a yellow tinted area so I send it back and get new one...
I hear reports about yellowish shades in the bottom of the display as well. The ripple effect is also reported. In both cases HTC have said it's not normal and replaces the units. Within 7 days some suppliers gives you a new phone at no charge after that it has to be sent for repair.
I rang ORANGE and they are sending me another unit. This will be the third i have recieved from them. Lets hope i have none of these problems. I could hack the small faints of yellow but definately not the ripple effect on the sides. I am beginning to loose faith in the HTC diamond
Got my new phone from Orange and yet more yellow tints and ripple effects. REALLY irritated by this! dont know whether to call orange or not!

Screen issue-"Burnt in" image on gray backround

Hello people,
I rarely see a burnt in (like old crt screens) image on the bottom of the screen.
For example when I change the volume, the softkey labels of the today screen are still visible, along with a white line. Most times it is normal so I don't worry very much but I'm wondering if someone else has the same issue.
I've tried many versions of hardspl (because they seem to be connected with some screen issues) but the problem still exists.
Hi i have the exact same issue, i put a post up a month ago not had any response on it. I have a MDA compact IV, not updated any ROM or HARDSPL yet. I was tempted to update to see if the problem could be rectified.
Have you update to a cooked rom? I might send mine back to have it fixed if its a screen issue.
Mine only holds the "burnt in image" along the right of the screen from top right corner to bottom right corner around 3cm in.
Also i have noticed the "Burnt in image" seems to get stronger when the device heats up. If i use GPS or 3G, this seems to affect the screen.
My background is black which makes it really noticable, i think if i stick with the orginal t-mobile white background it's probably not that noticable.
mmm
Perhaps the units you bought where like demo units. Those units that are displayed all day long turned for people to look at them. I have read in another forum that perhaps that distortion is caused by extreme temperatures, cold or heat.
well i'm still trying to figure out what is causing it, as I notice it only once in maybe a week. Maybe temperature is the most probable cause. For me I notice the defect only in gray background (e.g. when changing volume or launching opera).
My unit was from the first batch from expansys (origin htc asia)
It's possible your handsets have screens which are somehow susceptible to heat damage from inside the phone. This would be no fault of your own, but a manufacturing defect.
I'd suggest returning the phone to the retailer, HTC or the operator depending on your situation.
However, if you're using the phone in extreme conditions, ie low temperatures, you may very well find the LCD slow to refresh or have some level of image retention.
Let us know the outcome
i also have a ripple effect when pressing, but its more apparent with black. its also a first gen model, so i think ima make a phone call to htc. maybe a can get a new device.
for the burn in, try this:
1. Go to power settings, deselect automatic backlight management.
2. Pull up backlight level to maximum.
3. Reselect automatic.
You should be ok!
If not, faulty device!

Ok I will try this although I can't see how the backlight can affect the screen. In order to repair it with warranty I would have to send it to expansys uk (because it is not a European device) and I bet it would take long
Have you tried removing the battery for a while - some lcd screens can get the memory effect, and cutting power for long enough normally cures it.
My phone actually holds the previous menu under the current menu.
Example i'm on the home screen, goto messages and send a text using the qwerty keyboard. Back to the home screen, i can see a very faint image of the qwerty keyboard under the Programs hotkey.
When the PIN lock comes on the bottom right is "MENU", i can see a faint "programs" letters icon underneath it.
I will try and leave the battery out for a few hours, if not a call to t-mobile!
ok, i have the same "problem". even after a soft-reset the words CommManager
and Programs are still slightly visible in the boot screen.
but: as mentioned above, turning the device off for a couple of minutes cures
this, and the screen is dark as hell again!
really seems to be some kind of memory effect!
regards,
markus
Left the battery out for a few hours, made no difference. I guess is not a software problem.
will be giving t-mobile a call tomorrow!
:-(
I guess every htc device must have a flaw...
when it does it again I will try to take a photo of it and post it here
Hi same problem here.... See my post below..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=417629
I thought it was due to Spb Shell but no, now i'm happy i'm not alone..
But what solution for this??
I'm not worried about the burn in looks.. My worry is whether this behavior of the screen will progressively damge the screen???
I have been using the Diamond at full backlight.. Last few days i've put it down to minimum, but the problem persists!!!
ok, I think it happens when it overheats.
So that is why it is caused when charging.
wtf?
No its not due to overheating, coz LCD screen are supposed to tolerate temperatures upto 80degree C... Dont know if its related to electro magnetic radiation, may be looks like it's more after i use the network...
Hi another mate has this problem Andrew...

Hi,
i sent my phone back to T-Mobile hoping they will fix this issue with the screen. Just received the phone and it looks like they have done nothing On the job sheet all it says is "Software updated"? The problem is still there!
I dont think there is a fix as such, it looks like this is the cause
http://www.practical-home-theater-guide.com/image-sticking.html
I'll try if i can get a completely white background and leave the screen on for a while at the brighest setting, if this will erase the screen issue?
the problem appears more often now on my device....
It does not have to do with heat afterall.
Why would the image "stick" when the phone is off? I mean that many times I see the symptoms right after I switch the phone on.
Do we have any screen experts in the forum?

After calling up T-Mobile and made a complaint saying nothing had been done by the repair centre, they gave up and agreed to give me a handset replacement. Received the handset today, looks like a refurbed one? Anyway my problem is now fixed. Left the phone on a while and it got pretty hot, no ghosting on the screen
The restore was a pain, Wifi didn;t work, the HSDPA didn;t work. But after a few hours messing around it's all up and running so far.

Phone shows on screen a noisy rain

Hello all,
Today when i'm using my phone (Oneplus 3 T), after a normall "screen on" the display appears like in the image? I bought the phone at gearbest, and after contact oneplus.net, they say that gearbest are not an autorized resseler, so i have to pay them (Oneplus.net) to repair, even if i'm inside the warranty period. any sugestion on it?somebody has same problem?
Please see image bellow in attach,

Quick fix?
Just do a Google search with "oneplus3t screen static" and have a look at the thread on the OnePlus Forums that is displayed at the top. It will show you a quick fix The display is lying inside the aluminium frame, if the phone fails down, the frame is damaged and out of shape a bit, so u need to 'click' back the display inside the frame. Thus you have to press on the screen, around all the edges of the screen and then you hear and feel a distinct pop when the screen moves backwards into the case. And the static goes away.

Screen Problem

Hey there guys,
Im having some problems with my Huawei P10 screen. On the left side of the screen on top there are some yellow half circles. One month ago there was only one and now there are three of them. Like on the top left of the screen. When the background is white you can see them clearly, when the background is black or any dark colour they almost disappear.
Do you think its a pixel problem or what? Like dead pixel or stuck pixel. If u know what it is can u help me to fix it?
Its not any big problem but its ugly to see them when u use phone.
Thanks
Are they present when you boot into Fastboot? Just test it, there's a white background. If yes, it's a hardware problem, maybe it's the display itself, or the flex cable or the display controller, or the display connector.
Go to a repair store, if you still have warranty send it to Huawei of, if you're able to do it by yourself, buy a display replacement (with frame).

Display broken! Need some guidance ASAP

My K20 Pro's display was broken (completely black screen)
Authorized service center told me they charge Rs-9300/- (Indian rupees) for the screen replacement.
(7499 (Screen cost) + 1350 (GST) + 500 (Service charge) )
Will it work fine as normal if I change in authorized center.
If any one had similar experience please guide me.
Thanks in advance!
Yes it should work all fine. I change them my self on any phone and there is no confusion about it. You get replacement screen. What that meens is that is original display. The whole unit of the screen. Whole unit meens amoled display with glass. Touchscreen is not glass. The glass is only glass which is a protection of the whole unit. Touchscreen is build in in amoled as a layer which sits underneath polarizer. There is no confusion and no extra thought you should deal with. Just do it. If you can change your self then change your self.
