Since when the phone came out I didn't worry much about the battery life but recently my battery life has been constantly degrading, I never did anything to conserve battery life, I'm rooted on one ui 2.5, would love any suggestions to improve battery life, may it be a custom kernel, magisk module or anything that helps, thanks in advance

Hi,
Whether I'm on the latest SlimBean, CM10 or CM9, battery life is always bad for me. I don't have draining apps and when the phone is idle it's not using battery at all. The problem lies within usage, when I'm using my phone, the battery life goes down too fast (when I'm using Whatsapp and Gmail. Especially when you compare it to stock.
I've done a bit of reading and many people suggest the Modem and Kernel files can have a huge impact on battery life.
So, I wonder, what would you guys recommend to increase my battery life during usage?
I've found this thread with modems: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1870460
(My wish is a fast phone with a ROM that looks nice, like the latest SlimBean, but I appreciate battery life more. However, a rooted Gingerbread stock ROM goes so slow...)
Good evening. Ok, so i haved xposed mods on my phone. Most of them are pretty self explanitory. However, android tuner is not. I see alot of battery options such as battery calibration, changing charging voltages an other stuff. My question is. For the standard note 3 at&t version. what would be a great calibration and voltage for my battery to significantly increase battery life? does anyone personally use this mod or any other battery mods that give you noticably better battery life through out the days?

I'd like to know this as well - I installed Android Tuner (pro version) also, but haven't tweaked anything.
I'm looking for a kernel and custom rom that give me a perfect balance between battery life and performance on my Nexus 6. Thanks for the help.
Bliss pop and elementalx
I use BrokenOS(personal preference, mainly for UI) and Sensei kernel for battery. Its extremely customizable and upstreams the best features and optimizations from other kernels like elementalx and Franco and the likes. He releases it a few days after (or day of) and its extremely customizable. I've used it since release 5. He's currently on release 34
BlissPop and Franco Kernel :good:
I notice significant battery improvement with ElementalX kernel over stock kernel.
first off, kernels do not give you better battery. its a huge misconception. a kernel can help you better your battery, but will not improve your battery. you can get the same improvements by messing with your cpu yourself. battery life is all about how you personally use your device, how you set it up, what kinds of apps you install, and ver much the quality if your phone/data signal. thats it. there is no magic pill(kernel) that you can take to improve your battery life. if you want better battery life, keep away from terribly written apps, and apps that drain your phones resources.

Even then some kernels have customizations and optimizations to help lengthen the battery life. For example different CPU govorners and reduce unneeded clock speed overhead and under clocking can help too with the help of a custom kernel. So yes, poorly written apps and sensors that hog power tend to be the majority of power loss, I still think that the kernels introduce a bit of help too
I made this thread so that other users can discuss which is the best rom for G901F in terms of battery life.
It will save users the hassle of installing roms and then testing them for weeks to find out which is best.
So let the discussion begin!
Cynogenmod
I installed cynogenmod 12.1 where the battery life was not great, however then went back to cynogenmod 12 and battery life was much better. However after using the rom for a couple of months i have seen a steep decline in battery life even when phone is sleeping.
What is other users opinions on other roms?

Did you recalibrate the battery after updating to 12.1?
I use Simple GX Rom 1.4.1 with Kernel.
Battery life is very good. Nearly 0%/h in deep sleep.1-2% over night (9h)
I tried Nova 1.3 with stock kernel. Batterylife was a little bit lower than SimpleGX.
About 0,7%/h in deep sleep.
With Stock BOH4 Rom (Tmobile) i have lost 15-20% over night
Hi guys,
I'm looking for a custom ROM which I can use for a long time.
Important for me is: performance, stability, battery life and also that the idle drain doesn't become high after a few days.
I would be really happy if you guys can help me and I would like to hear more responses than just one.
Thanks in advance
I'm currenly using Pixel OS latest build and it seems fine for me. Performance is decent but I don't know how it fare with gaming. Stability is excellent, very few bugs and those bugs are very minor (like UI). Battery life is decent. Idle drain is ok, I've gotten 27hrs screen off and only got 1% drain from it. Though some users report that they experience 40% drain overnight, I'm guessing idle drain depends on usage now
