Hello everyone,
I just received a new Magisk update. Does it mean that I don't need Canary for android 11 anymore? Since there's a new version?
I am just afraid to root with Canary, heard stories and don't want to take the even bigger risk.
Thanks
I'm currently on canary with 11. Having no issues.vehat are you referring to?

You are still on 10, waiting?? Pretty sure you will still need canary to root 11. What does the changelog say on your stable version? Until it says "supports Android 11" you'll still need to use the canary version which by the way is quite safe if you are using pretty much any mainstream phone. There is no risk at all. Use canary to patch the stock boot image. Put both in the same folder. Flash the patched image. If you don't have immediate success, you simply flash the stock boot.img and you are back to stock. Any stories you heard are just that... stories.

The new Stable Magisk Manager (8.0.0) is fine to use on Android 11. The latest Beta Magisk (21.0) is also fine to use on Android 11. Both were just updated to be Android 11 compatible. Soon the Beta Magisk will be moved to the Stable channel once any bugs (if any) are worked out.
By the way, the latest Canary also works fine on Android 11.
Installation instructions and documentation have been updated. https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk
Thanks for answering ?. I'll see if it says supports android 11. Yes I was on 10 waiting, root is a small risk, but Canary is a bigger one that I didn't want to take. Hopefully it supports it and I can root to Android 11.
By the way, do you know if the Soli motion sense module works with Android 11?
Thanks in advance

The latest Beta does support Android 11. https://twitter.com/topjohnwu/status/1312342107139440640
Make sure you set the channel in the Manager to Beta.
I don't know anything about the Soli motion sense module..

It's ready to go now. Latest version 21 (MM v8.0.0) stable supports 11. I don't use the Soli module so can't comment on that.

I'm looking if Fate/Grand Order JP works on the Open Betas since the app has root detection and doesn't play nice with custom ROMs or even official ones ( Oneplus One CM ), also what about custom ROMs like Lineage OS ?
Doesn't it work with Magisk hide feature you mean?

As far as I recall hiding root didn't help at all on the Oneplus One, I don't know about the Oneplus 3T since I'm on stock 4.16 and I was thinking of moving on the open Beta

Have you installed the magisk trough the last magisk canary? Is it stable enough for daily?

You should use this custom update channel in Magisk Manager - > https://raw.githubusercontent.com/topjohnwu/magisk_files/master/canary_builds/canary.json <- and update Magisk and Magisk Manager. Then try again and it should work.
Edit: Use Direct Install to update Magisk.

Hi there,
is there any chance to use the AR-Lense on an unmodified mate 10 pro running pie?
thanks

Unmodified as in locked?
You won't be able to without having an unlocked device at least. Not until Huawei enables it again. AR Lens was there during beta, but for some reason it was disabled in official Pie (though everything is still there, just missing props)
Just a quick question. Does this module require EMUI 9 or a ported EMUI 9 Camera. I tried it on an EMUI 9 Camera. No luck. Honor 6X. Pie Custom ROM. AOSP Extended. Magisk v18.0

This is designed to work on EMUI 9.0 with the original Huawei's Camera app.

I'm using EMUI on my Mate 10 Pro, so i never tried to port it on custom roms.

I like a fully working device, not EMUI! [emoji6]
Can confirm this module works on EMUI 9.00.163 on my P20 Pro (CLT-L09C432B) with the original Huawei's Camera app.
Thanks
I've been on Android 10 for a month now. It's all working fine and I don't think Motorola will update it to Android 11, so I've been wondering how to root the G7+ now that's on Android 10. I already have TWRP installed. Some people told me I should simply flash Magisk, but I didn't trust it, because I read all last year about how different it was to root a phone on Android 10. I'm sorry if I bother, but has anyone done it? Can you teach me? Thanks.
Anyone been able to root 10 android on G7 plus?
It works!
Yes, I did it. I installed LineageOS and rooted it. But be careful! I think I will write a big and detailed tutorial tomorrow, because this can be really risky!
But it works. I have Android 9 now, and everything works perfect!
LineageOS is not what i want. Is it possible to root stock ROM 30.61-21-3?
Tutorial will be great anyway.

Yes, I am on Stock 30.61-21-3 and rooted it using Magisk 20.4. I installed it from TWRP 3.3.1-0 Lake. Works just fine without issues.
Hello,
Recently, my Pixel 4XL started showing me notifications saying that I should update to Android 11 soon.
I was afraid to use Magisk Canary since it's not official and still has some bugs.
Do you still need Magisk Canary build to root Android 11?
If not, is there a guide that shows how?
Thanks,
TY53

For what it's worth, I've been running canary since it became available. Middle of 2018...
Yes it's a test bed, yes it's had blips that were fixed quickly. No I've never once lost use of my phone because of it.
Thank you for answering ,
I'll read more about the Canary version and see if I am fine with the risk.
I just don't want to lose my phone, but it keeps sending notifications saying that my system is outdated and I need to update.

Hi, does anyone know how to make V4A function properly on Xiaomi 12 Pro? I am on xiaomieu and rooted already. No matter how I tried it still doesn't work as it should.
I think you should flash Audio Compatibility patches too. Magisk modules available for that

Yes, I have already flashed it but still not working. Have you got Viper4Android on your Xiaomi 12 Pro?

Hello, how did you manage to root?
I'm also interested in that. Twrp Without it, there is no solution
