OK thanks for TELLING, but can you help me on how to root Samsung Galaxy A705GM

download the latest Magisk Manager from the channel channel and install the APK on your phone. If you have one: click on the recovery.img file you just downloaded for TWRP on your phone. ... additions. Reboot. All root rights are received. Recently reflashing two or three times a day, in connection with experiments with gsi, I decided to write detailed instructions for inexperienced ones.

Up until recently google had blocked car stream via updates to Android auto and play services. The only way to keep car stream working was to keep those two apps rolled back to certain versions and not take updates. Problem is play services auto...

[Q] Gear2 Neo firmware question +root + custom faces questions (none samsung user)

Hey guys,
I got the gear 2 neo as a gift yesterday, i have an HTC m8 and an iphone 5, i downloaded an application called samsung gear on the M8 (costs like 2.5$) but found out that there is no Samsung store in it (which should be obvious)
So i guess i must root the gear right?
I read that i must have the NE5 firmware, i can't know if i have this firmware or not.. my software version is R381XXU0ANCD , how can i know if it is the NE5 and how can i download the NE5 firmware if mine isn't it?
The rooting procedure isn't a problem to me.
After rooting, will I be able to install custom faces or load some faces i downloaded from the net easily? and how? since my mobile doesn't have the Samsung store so i can't install that trendie watches app or any other app ..
Any help please?
And can I benefit completely from the gear 2 neo if i pair it with my iphone 5?
Many thanks guys
Exact Thing here.
I do have the HTC One M7 and the Gear 2 Neo, trying to Install Apps to the watch..
Do I have to root the watch and the M7 to make apps (apks) work or only the watch?
Is there a possibility to install the Samsung Apps - Store and download apps to my HTC?
I experimented the whole Nights.. I managed to install the Gear Manager, Notifications do work but no Apps..
Thanks in Advance, i appreciate any Help!
you shuold be able to install apps....for the most part the gear apps are thru the samsung app store.
but being that its rooted you can install the apps thru a filemanager and then run it
I am able to install apps to my device. when I open them, it should create an icon on my watch.
Nothing happens except a massage on my phone "the app can not be installed".
Would rooting my watch solve that issue?
i told you that i don't have the store cz im not a samsung user...
can anyone help please??

we did. your not a samsung user. so your only option is to root your hand set. as well as the watch. rooting your hand set will allow you to install apps via the store. the store would have to be side loaded of course. which means installed by you off a sd card or downloaded file to your device(phone). the watch would need to be rooted to by pass samsungs app protection. to allow apps to be installed by a none samsung phone. then all you do is side load your apps. the watch rom i use is here. either way you need to root. hopefully your watch is still version NE5 as that has root. the new NL2 i believe currently is awaiting a generous dev to have a look.

[Q]Play Movies/TV with Root?

Hello All,
So, I have been away from Android for a bit (not my choice ), and it seems that I am unable to play movies and tv show from Google Play if I am rooted, or even using a permissive kernel. I just get the try again later, restart, blah blah error. Is this the norm nowadays? I googled/searched XDA and only found a thread about the HTC M8 where this was discussed (with no solution other than rootcloaker). I thought Google had had stopped that a while back?
Any informed input appreciated, as I like to use my own ROMs/kernels. I will logcat/dive deeper if no-one knows, and see how far that gets me...
Thanks!
Steve
I have never used Google Play for music or movies but I was wondering if you could still install apps or use gmail. Curious if its related to account. I'm sure it would be mentioned more often if it was a common problem , so very possible a setup issue!?

I am thinking along the same lines, as a search turned up basically nada, but I just wanted to rule out the obvious. Thanks!

Sure. You could always try a kernel or rom from the development section as a test and narrow it down. Wish I knew more of the inner workings, but still learning. hope you get it back on track. Its a very nice device.

Okay. Just restored this tab to stock. Google play movies worked fine. Then redid the root process and Google play movies don't work. Did some searching and apparently root breaks google play movies. Anyone?
I'm having the same issue... also couldn't get hulu to play anything. Twitch and Netflix work fine.. google play and hulu, no bueno. My Nexus 6p is rooted though and it plays hulu and google play movies just fine... so it's not necessarily root.. it's something with this tablet and root.
Suggested in the T917T Root thread: if you're running Xposed, give root cloaking a shot.

I think you're correct. I have a rooted LG G4 and play movies works fine on it. I'll see if I can get exposed and root cloak going.
Edit: no luck with root cloak.
Just an idea, no idea if it will work, but has anyone tried downloading a movie from google play movies while the device is rooted, and seeing if it plays? I'd do it myself, but my device currently isn't rooted, so could someone test that for me?

Do I have to be rooted already before I use the systemless root? Or will that root my device on its own? I'm a little bit confused on how to go about installing this.

System partition needs to be complete stock so no previous root.
Just install as you would any other supersu zip.
It will unpack and patch the boot.img on the fly and install systemless root.
Have a backup ready.

It should work on 5.1.1. Are you sure you didn't have root before? The system needs to be clean. When supersu installed did it say systemless root?
If everything was as it should be then you need to make a bug report in the supersu thread to Chainfire.

thanks for the reply i tried the option in that link but no help. If i can make it clear for you so i rooted my phone and after rooting netflix is having problems playing anything. I do not get any error's like other people instead i can login and see everything but when i try to play something it just gets stuck on "loading" and never actually loads
for anyone having the same problems as me i found a fix. Go into Magisk and go to downloads and scroll to the bottom and download Liboemcrypto disabler and reboot phone
Another way is using a root explorer go to system/vendor/lib then find liboemcrypto.so and change it to .bak at the end and save. The magisk module probably does the same thing.
Don't those root privileges get lost after each power cycle?

No solution for GMS on phone...?

Hi there,
1 week ago, i bought the p40 pro+ and ever-since I have been trying to downgrade but i feel like its not possible.
Every video on youtube doesnt work for me because they have all different base software models and therefore also different firmwares. I then asked some help on this form in an existing topic but nobody was able to help me. I also had contact with Bender-007 (creator of googlefier, i believe?) and after 3 days going back and forward, he wasnt able to fix it. So im starting to believe that my phone is unable to downgrade?
Things I have tried:
- hisuite + proxy
- googlefier
- VM ware (which worked but i dont wanna use my phone this way)
- downgrading without PC or USB method but not working.
So, the real issue is that everyone keeps telling me that i need to download firmware xxx.131; but i keep telling everyone that xxx.131 doesnt exist for my base software information! I have ELS-LGRP6 and the earliest firmware existing on firmware finder is xxx.132; not 131.
So, if the correct firmware i need to downgrade to, is non-existent to any firmware finder i use, then how can i downgrade?
Look at the screenshot. The green are alphabetically set to show LGRP6 and it ends at xxx.132; then magenta starts which is only LGRP4 and this is the only one that shows me xxx.131.... But i need from ELS-LGRP6 EDIT: screenshot is not showing so click the link. https://ibb.co/5r4vzP4
So anyone please has some solutions? :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Have you followed the redskull guide from YouTube? I was able to install Gapps using his guide on 10.1.0.155.
Please try his and have patience, because you might be repeating the procedure several times.
I have tried from over 15 different youtubers. Including Redskull. But I will give it another try. Thank you. Ill keep the topic informed. As long as i havent written that it works, im more than happy to hear other peoples solutions. Thank you!

What I did was to follow RedSkull's guide till account creation and launching of the blue G App (pressing the blue button and let it run in the background), and then I start following the @eloygomezTv guide from that step. Only change I did was before installing the Google Play Services (from EloYGomeZTv files), I uninstalled the microG. And then I followed the guide from EloYGomeZTv with his files and viola, I was able to install it. It took me two tries though.
I dont understand your comment. sorry... I dont follow the exact thing you did. What is microG? Is that the G-app? And, did you press it or not?
The issue is that i never can open the G-app... So the fact he can open it means its not gonna work for me probably. Because hes procedure at the start is exactly the same as the procedure of red skull... They do both do the exact same things and the only issue i have is not being able to open G-app. And the reason i cant open G-app, is because i need to downgrade BUT the downgrade is xxx.131 and this one doesnt exist for ELS-LGRP6.... So, im still in the same situation as one week ago

Ok so i fixed everything. GMS is finally working.
There is a new video online on youtube which made it all happen (to install GMS). But first, i had to downgrade ELS-LGRP6 which wasnt easy because nobody new the correct firmware i had to download for this base software. So, i decided to take the earliest firmware i could find, checked if it was OK for my device and then used proxy and hisuite to downgrade to ELS-LGRP6 xxx.132
Then i used this youtube to walk me through. Its amazingly simple and shows everything too.

Guide to get Google services with latest firmware installed i.e. EMUI 11.0.0.151 Along with perfectly working notifications without lag

Hi ,
This guide is to explain the easiest way to get GMS working on latest firmware i.e. EMUI 11.0.0.151 on P40 Pro 5g (Mine model was ELS-NX9)
Thousand thanks to @bender_007 for such an amazing app i.e. Googlefier
Step 1. FIRST Downgrade to FIRMWARE version 10.1.0.131 using Hisuite Proxy App (Detail can be seen on @bender_007 GOOGLEFIER Post (Method 2) or you can search youtube.
Step2. While downgrade you may get data partition corrupted error, but no worries just do factory reset/ low level format in recovery.
Step 3. As soon as system reboots after downgrade, DO NOT INSTALL ANYTHING EXCEPT GOOGLEFIER APP by @bender_007
Step 4. Run Googelfier app and just follow the steps EXACTLY AS MENTIONED . Remember my words ....EXACTLY
Step 5. After following all steps as mentioned you will get perfectly working GMS services on 10.1.0.131 firmware. Everything works fine here even Google pay is working fine EXCEPT GOOGLE DUO AND FIREBASE BASED PUSH NOTIFICATIONS OF GMAIL.
BUT YOU WONT GET OTA UPADTE IMMIDIATELY IN YOUR phone, to upgrade to latest firmware. Maybe you can get that in a day or 2 or more.
Step 6. NOW TO MANUALLY UPDDATE TO LATEST FIRWARE, just follow the hisuite proxy app method which you followed for downgrading. Just identify the exact FULLOTA in Firmware finder. Note down its link and version number. paste in Hisuite proxy app and upgrade
I HEREBY CONFIRM THAT GMS works perfectly fine even after upgrading to EMUI 11.0.0.151
CHEERS.
on 18th Nov 2020, i got automatic ota update of 10.1.0.182 AND ON 31st December i got OTA update for emui 11.
Everything working fine as before i.e. all Google services.
Only issue you will face is the delayed notifications and google duo not working.
TO RESOLVE BOTH ISSUES, AFTER INSTALLING GMS SERVICES USING GOOGLEFIER, DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL ICEBOX APP ON YOUR PHONE.
ACESS YOUR PHONE THROUGH ADB AND ENTER THIS COMMAND ----- adb shell sh /sdcard/Android/data/com.catchingnow.icebox/files/start.sh
Then ICEBOX will run automatically in your phone. In icebox app, select simple adb method (last option) and select system apps, search for google framework services and freeze it.
THATS IT ....ALL NOTIFICATIONS DELAY WILL BE GONE AND GOOGLE DUO WILL ALSO WORK FINE.
USE AURORA STOTE FOR APP INSTALLTION FURTHER OR DEFROST FROZEN GOOGLE FRAMEWORK TO REACTIVATE PLAY STORE WHEN APP INSTALLTION REQUIRED...DONT FORGET TO REFREEZE AGAIN.

I tried googlefier the other day and couldn't get play store to work properly after about 5 attempts so reinstalled with the manual method from a few weeks back.
Google pay doesn't work for me though. It says the phone is rooted or altered. So google pay definitely works with googlefier ? I thought it was just a front end for the manual method and I've only ever seen people say Gpay doesn't work.

I'd like to know that as well because if Google pay works that way I'll go back to .131 and instal it myself. It's the only thing missing from this amazing phone!

Google pay doesn't work here as well. Google pay run, but it doesn't mean it works. I got this message when I tried to set up contactless payments. "this phone cannot be used in shops this may be because is rooted or altered in some other way"
