and so on....
did you try? nope. now we have one more useless thread and in the wrong forum. congrats! what an entry you made!
Not that those link are very useful either... You can't just use simple cut'n'paste on long links, you know. You have to copy the links individually by right clicking on them.
The standby time is almost impossible to compare. Leave the phone more or less alone and just make a call or two, read a few messages, and you will have used 30% power at the end of the day. But try to actually USE it, even just for an hour of MP3 with the screen off and you'll see the battery bars drop at an alarming rate. So comparing standby time with anyone but yourself isn't worth that much. You have to test the Radios/ROMs yourself.

links corrected, thanks.
still, links or no links i hope he'll get the general idea. i didn't just copy the links i explained also how i got them.
Yes... Generally there's a LOT of ppl buing the Diamond and none of us can wait to get it really going. So a lot of new threads are created, that really aren't needed. You think this is bad? I could show you local boards in my country that are much worse

[Q] Reset screen brightness with ADB?

I have HC running nicely on my NC until somehow I managed to set the screen brightness level to zero. I was looking around for a method to reset the brightness via ADB and it seems to vary a little from thread to thread perhaps based on device. A co-worker recommended this but it doesnt seem quite right to me:
$ ./adb -d shell# sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.dbSQLite version 3.5.9Enter ".help" for instructionssqlite> update system set value=255 where name='screen_brightness';sqlite> .exit# reboot
I don't want to do more damage pushing junk commands to my nook so I was wondering if any ADB wizards could let me know if the above looks correct or if there are some better suggestions.
Thanks!!!

[Q] system apps running rampant?? :/

Hi, if someone could help me with this major issue I'm having that would be great. My phone is having constant overheating issues due to a system process called 'base system' or 'Android system' sometimes that I cannot kill and that is running rampant that often goes over 50% CPU use (not good!). this equates to poor battery life and temps of over 100 and extremely slow phone. Reboots cure it for a little but it always seems to come back eventually. I don't think this is rom specific but if anyone can help... I've flashed stock multiple times and redone the cm7 process (including wipes). I've uninstalled all user apps to see if one was causing this. Everything works fine for a while but eventually it always comes back. Any ideas? :/
additional info: I've tried a suggestion to mount/unmount /data
I've flashed stock and it seemed that even in stock mthose two processes were running suspiciously high without anything running. I'm getting these stats from watchdog
hmmm thats interesting, especially with CM7 which is supposed to be a lightweight rom, have you found a solutions yet?
nope still nothing. Battery is so bad, it dropped from around 70 to 0 in around 2 hours with light browsing and some games. Which should last much longer than that. I'm going to flash stock and go to att and hope I get a warranty exchange. If anyone has any ideas before, will be much appreciated!
Good idea, 70 to 0 in that amount of time is horrendous, I can play music for three hours with screen shut off and get 70 to 41

It's rude to request thanks. you should be helping because you want to, not for virtual clicks anyway.

Help with lag! (Trim)

I got a new Nook HD+ in June. I kept it on stock, until about October, when I flashed cyanogenmod 10.1.3, then 10.2. The lag slowly became worse and worse until it was almost unuseable. I finally found a thread saying to format data and datmedia, so I did. This fixed the lag, but it started to come back. This is almost certainly a trim bug, but I know almost nothing about that (I am in middle school ). I do not want to format again, so I don't know what to do. Right now, I am on cm11.
If you are on CM11 then trim is enabled so it will run when certain conditions are met. I have found the easiest way is to plug it in overnight. Trim will run if the Nook is charging and has been idle for a period of time. Hope this helps
Thanks!

Thanks for responding. I had daydream on, so I don't know if trim ran or not. It seems like the lag is slowly getting better, but that may be the placebo effect. Is there a way to see if trim has run or is there another way to run it? Thanks!
There is a command line that can be run in Terminal that will check the log of the last trim run. I used it once to be sure trim ran BUT i do not remember the command. Do a search of the forum and you will find it.

I'm sorry, but I can't find it anywhere. Could you find it?
Read this thread carefully and you will find the info you are searching for. You may have to link to another thread. It's the "Teach them to Fish" thing

On that thread, I found instructions to run trim manually from Terminal. I did it and my nook was a little bit faster, but still significantly laggy than it is supposed to. I have started to think that the lag may not just be trim. Could this be true? Also, I ran Androbench and my random write was only .11 mb /s.
Also, I have the MAG2GA chip. Will this affect the speed of my nook?
When I run trim from the command line, it always says that it trimmed the same number of bytes each time, even if it is just a few seconds after. Is it supposed to do this?
Thanks again for all your help!

alogcat hack terms

View attachment alogcat.2017-08-30-17-30-37-0700.txtI have an S7 Edge and I'm pretty sure that I have either a spy app or a rat because I've been having very strange things happen with my phone where they just shut off my phone just reset for no reason. It takes forever for a talk-to-text from my mouth to the screen takes about 24 seconds everything else lags when I do certain certain things just on and on but my question is is there a way I could check out my logcat to see if something like that is happening with my phone because I have been looking at my logcat and there is some stuff I've never seen before on there and it makes no sense at all. And I think this is time sensitive because the things on my logcat are getting more intense it seems like. & I think it is time sensitive because the things on my luck yet or getting more intense it seems like I have copies of a lot of them I've been saving so if anybody needs a copy I could send it to you. I'm just wondering if there's any terms or words I should be looking out for
