As per title, is there a file/setting we can adjust to get rotation to work in home screens and app drawer? I had this working with some custom roms and it's a nice feature actually. Now I'm back to stock 5.0.1 so I am missing it. I don't want to flash a custom rom as they usually break screen-casting to CC (infamous green screen). Most threads I've come across only adress the auto-rotation option and how to enable it. Any suggestions?
There is a build.prop addition need to enable this and lock screen rotation. It's here somewhere, I will see if I can find it but it is hard to do on the phone.

There are rooted stock ROMs that work fine. I use Clean ROM and everything works perfect. That being said, using Nova launcher allows these features, even if unrooted.

That worked like a charm! Well, I had to download "Build prop editor" because for some reason I couldn't properly save build.prop using Root Explorer but once I got to edit it it worked perfectly, home screen, app drawer and even lock-screen. :good:
Didn't want an extra app running in the bckground just for something you can achieve by adding 2 lines.
Anyone have any good options for shortening the stock lockscreen required swipes/taps to unlock the phone?
Basically the steps NOW are as follows: Hard Press Active Display button > Lock screen > Swipe > Draw Pattern. That's 3 taps/swipes.
Is there a way to have the Pattern points ON the first lockscreen? I like its simple, minimalist look but I don't like having to swipe... just to swipe again.
I looked through settings but couldn't find an option. I also really miss my double tap to wake/sleep from the LG phones. Didn't the Galaxy S7 Edge have double tap to wake while using the Active display option?
The lockscreen just seems to take way too many steps to get to the desktop. My Note 5, it seemed I would press the home button and enter in my pattern. Easy.
Settings > Display > Navigation Bar > Unlock With Home Button
Make sure that's toggled on.

You are the best!
What a weird place for that option to be. That absolutely does the trick.
Sadly it only works for a hard press and not a double tap though through but I'll take that as a win.

Not my work, just sharing it here for good vibes - https://www.xda-developers.com/download-samsung-experience-10-launcher/
That's awesome. I can't wait to see the auto light /dark mode in action
Finally, the empty space where the icon labels and the nav bar hide...IS NOT space anymore. This and the unscrollable wallpaper on the homescreen were the only two eye poppers i always had in the new TW (weirdly, bot used to be hidden mods)
Well done Sammy, i even think they are using the boards here for feedback, sneaky bastards.
PS, dont forget to make the new launcher as default, or else it will crash and notify about some java thing.

Ok, so you can hide it on the home screen, unlike on Samsung experience 9 where it still shows if you hide it on the home screen. So you can swipe up to see it

Yup.
Does this bring gesture support?
How to make this work?

Does not work on at&t note 8. Just crashes. Maybe because the app I have is not a update to 9.5 version but it's own apk. That's how it installed anyway.

You probably just set the old one as default again. Clear the launcher default settings (not the cache/data) and try again, i've already got it on on an S7E, S8, and S8+ phones. It should work as the leak itself comes from a Snapdragon variant dump, just like yours.

Doesn't look like you can do this. I have the Navbar hidden but still shows on the home screen of this launcher.

Is it possible to uninstall this?
I'm on a note 8 sd
On Android 8.0 unrooted though
---------- Post added at 04:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:37 PM ----------
Does this do anything other than the home screen options? I installed it with no issues.
About to go back to NOVA
---------- Post added at 04:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:43 PM ----------
I can't figure out how to uninstall it.
I went to the apps and did it, but it just uninstalls the regular launcher.

No it's exactly the same as 9 minus the settings. And I could not get it to stop crashing on my note 8 n950u with 8.0 crc2 build.
Ok it worked fine just not a lot of changes to me.
HOW TO UNINSTALL
I had to open the launcher settings and then go to the About section to get to the app options. Then I set Nova as the launcher and it lets me uninstall the version 10.
Thanks bro
Work perfectly
For my SM-N950F/DS
On this version I have no app icon notifications. Everything else is good.
Running on Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 8 stock.
How can I bring back the dot on the navbar to hide it?
You can't.
What about navstar?
I just switched to the gesture navigation.. That way it gets hidden and I can still go home/back/recents, but even faster
Install it and try it. Let us know if it works.
---------- Post added at 10:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:10 AM ----------
Yes, but no way to activate Google Assistant by holding for home button. Deal breaker for me. And I HATE through nav bar.
Navstar doesn't work
Dang it! I also miss the dot to hide the navigation bar. Thanks for trying NavStar!!
I would suggest trying the full screen gestures as well.
Full screen gestures?

The feature is disabled by default AFAIK but I successfully enabled it using this app: Settings Database Editor. You don't have to keep the app afterwards, you can safely remove it and the setting will persist.
In short, yes it have but needs to be enabled.

What is the name of the setting item?
I tried this and it works...but if I want to lower vibration intensity of thr haptic feedback can I edit the value of the following :
vib_feedback_magnitude

I can edit this setting but I think it does not have any impact.
Can you give it a try?
