I'm interested in this as well. I have TuneIn Radio installed, and always get the option to open that or Clock, but that's it. If nothing else, I'd like to open a slideshow or news reader.

FYI, I did find a thread on another board that suggested Desk Clock Plus... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.DevBob.DeskClockPlus. I can't try it out now, but it's supposed to show up as an option when you start charging on the TS
Edit: also found this thread... http://rootzwiki.com/topic/16031-any-good-android-docking-apps-with-touchstone-charger/
I've been waiting for an Android app that does the picture slide show like WebOS pretty much since CM9 came out for the Touchpad.
Maybe one day!

check out Desk Clock Plus that i mentioned above. I got to play with it a little last night, and there's an option to do a slideshow. unfortunately, idk how many more goodies we can expect to see for our old beloved touchpads.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Seems to need a load of permissions considering it's application (a clock) - I'm always wary of an app that wants loads of permissions and especially control of things like system settings without proper explanation, etc.

Yeah, I hear ya. It has a ton of different settings, I think including stuff like changing the lock screen and display/screen timeout, which I assume that is for. I wish there were more fine-grained permissions sometimes, or a way to disable certain ones and still have the app work, just not the particular feature that the permission relies on. I believe in CM that's possible at least to some extent.
I don't think my lock screen is working correctly. I have is set to no pin or password but once I wake the screen with the power button if I tap anywhere on the screen it unlocks. Previously on Sense you need to drag the lock or an icon into a ring on the screen. Is this how its supposed to happen now?

I would go into your sellings > lock screen and see if the quick launch apps are disabled. That's the only thing that comes to mind :fingers-crossed:
I can remember watching a video on YouTube about HTC tips and tricks or something and one if the things the guy was showing was the ability to unlock the phone from anywhere in the screen, I actually liked the idea if this however on mine you have to drag the lock item up.

He said to just swipe up to unlock. It didn't sound as if there was any setting that had to be changed.
Well it dose not work that way on mine, I have to grab the lock or one of the shortcuts.

Have you tried a restore?
Also, try going to a long-ish website on it (or something else that you can scroll through) then just tap once at around the same place as the lock-clock would be, see what happens when you do that.
The single touch unlock seems to be caused by services activated under the "accessibility settings" (German: "Eingabehilfe"). This concerns Tasker, Lightflow etc. Set these to off and you need to swype to unlock.

I'm sure it's not your digitizer. It's the settings. This used to happened on my htc hd2 as well sometimes. I don't remember the settings of sense but if you do not find them just restore it to factory settings and it should be fine.

You're absolutely right. Thanks for solving this mystery for me.
I received my One today and at some point during the installation of my apps started experiencing the same problem: the lock screen unlocked with a single touch instead of a swipe. Turns out its normal function returns when I switch off all accessibility services.
Which is annoying, because I need those accessibility settings for Tasker and for my Pebble. I wish HTC made this a separate option instead of assuming that as soon as you activate one accessibility option, you must be physically unable to move your thumb accross the screen... :-/
It's not just that the lock screen doesn't really lock anymore; in the "productivity" setup, I can't swipe beyond the first calendar entry because it disappears at the first touch. I really hope HTC fixes this in an update soon.

I am having the same problem. This issue occurs also when you have to turn Accessibility Service on for apps like "Notify me" etc. The lockscreen unlocks with every single touch...
Does someone have a solution for this?
Thanks in advance
I've opened a support ticket yesterday on htc.com and described the issue. Haven't heard back from them yet, but it's weekend of course.
Maybe if we all contact support they'll become aware of the issue and we'll get a solution sooner?
Got a reply today:
Thank you for your email regarding your HTC device. Unfortunately we dont know what 3rd party apps will do to the phone and therefore we cant support 3rd party apps. If you dont like the fact that your screen can be unlocked by a single touch i would advise you to remove the 3rd party app(s) or talk to the developer of those apps. If you have any further questions you can reply to this email.

So I wrote back:
Hello,
I wouldn't say those third party apps are responsible. They require accessibility services for certain features, but they do not in themselves affect the lock screen behaviour.
I believe it is the HTC Sense software that automatically (and unnecessarily) sets the lock screen to open at a single touch when any accessibility setting is used. I understand this issue cannot be solved at the moment, but I do hope a future update will introduce the option for the user to choose the lock screen behaviour himself.

A part solution is widget locker ...... not as pretty as stock lock screen but at least functional whilst you have this problem ....

Basically, yeah...
Thanks for the tips -- didn't know about the second one yet.
I'm a bit surprised there aren't more people reporting this problem. A lot of forum users here must be using Tasker, I can imagine, and have its accessibility service enabled, and therefore must experience the same lock screen defect. It's the only thing that really bothers me about this phone (apart from the fact that Zoe is practically unusable with Dropbox auto upload).
Aside from the EasyDo smart assistant, is there any widgets I can use with the null rom that basically just present my ToDo list, or a calendar widget that maybe shows 2 or 3 events and when clicked shows the rest? I ask because I constantly find myself writing things on my hand like "bills" so I can remember to do them after work. It would be great if I could dedicate a homescreen to a widget for the same purpose and stop writing on my hand.
I'm using Google Calendar and Tick Tick on my gear. They both work nicely with syncing via bluetooth tether
I use Simple Calendar Widget.
It's scrollable and when you tap an event, it opens in calendar.
A bit fiddly to configure on the Gear, so I set up the layout on the phone and then export and copy to Gear.
I used to always be taking my phone out to check what room I had to be in. Now, I can easily check on my watch

You can either side load it or download via the playstore on the gear.
Once it's installed, you can select a 1x2 widget and configure it how you like in terms of colours, fields to display, font size.
The widget on the top half of the screen is Minimalistic Text widget. I have 1 instance of it with the time and date. And another overlapping instance with just the battery.
There is also the Noticounter widget which I have overlapping everything else.
[edit] As I mentioned, it's easier to setup the widget on your phone and then export it and import it on the Gear. The screen on the Gear is too small and fiddly. That applies to both Simple Calendar and Minimalistic Text [/edit]
Getting calendar apps to sync
I've got calendar apps installed ok, but they don't seem to sync, or at least don't show any meetings. When I open up Today's schedule (the stock gear app) it shows the days appointments fine. How can I get the appointments to show in the non stock apps. I'm running null_19 and had a look through the app settings. The google calendar sync and other calendar apps are set to off. I turned them on, but it killed the battery in about 20 minutes and still didnt seem to sync the meetings.
Its a major gap in the utility of the watch for me, so I'd really appreciate any help or advice. I've trawled all the threads the mention calendar, but I didnt find anything that helped.
Thanks.

Yes, you need to have Null ROM installed to be able to use any widget.
Then, you just set the widget/s on your homescreen.
For syncing, you need to setup your google account in the system settings on the Gear (need Null ROM for that too) and then set it to sync the calendar.
To sync, you will need to setup bluetooth tethering between the Gear and phone. (need Null ROM for that too).
I don't leave it tethered all the time to save the battery. I have tasker installed on the phone and Gear and it enables BT tethering for 2 minutes every hour. that is frequent enough for me to have the calendar on the watch updated.

Are you also on NULL?
i'm on null 11, and yesterday there was released null 20. it is in active development, you got your info all wrong.
The developer stopped providing support through the main thread and PM. He is distributing the Rom through another forum and to be honest still ridiculously active and supportive through multiple threads. However, I think its fair to say he's here to develop, not play helpdesk.
But yeah, as others have said, if you skim through a bit more of the front page of the gear forums, you'll find plenty of discussion showing the null rom is well and kicking.

Thanks for the advice around syncing Rich. I have syncing working fine - I'm usually permanently tethered, probably unnecessarily. When I check the google sync settings it always shows a recent last sync'd time. However, none of the meetings are being loaded into the non-stock apps for some reason. I'm keen to check out the new null_ so I imagine I'll be doing a few full resets as part of that to hopefully clear this odd blockage.

All,
Just received my new T-Mobile Note 7. Spent the past few hours configuring it. Noticed that the display content scaling is gone. I remembered I set it to small during the initial set up. But,now I want to set it to large and see if I noticed any performance difference as I did with the old note 7.
It was in Settings, display, content scaling.
With the new update,I don't see it there anymore. I posted in another forum and saw that some users from another carrier namely at&t still has it, but in T-mobile it has been removed.
Why is that?
Any ideas?

You can get it back. There's an app in the app store called Display Scaling by Evozi that gives you the NOW hidden menu back (in the app), there's other ways to do it by making a shortcut to the hidden feature.
App is easier than trying to explain using another launcher, finding hidden feature and adding correct item for it.....
They hid this and UNHID the resolution feature since folks would use it more. This was expected to happen if you monitored the non Tmob note 7 forums. International notes got this update before the recall.
Oh, and you should probably reboot after changing it.

Another gotcha. If you change the scale size, THEN for some reason change your font larger, it will default back to LARGE content scaling....
I have an AT&T Note 7. I don't see those options. What are you guys setting the scaling to?
Being I can see 50 from where I stand, I'm keeping mine on large so I don't strain as much to see that tiny font.
Others prefer the small, those with younger eyes! lol
Before this update, there was talk that the small was "faster" than the large, but nobody provided proof.
I ran 3 runs of antutu before
and 3 runs after.
Both were exactly the same speed, +/- 1000.
So there's no speed reason to choose one or the other, only what you and your eyes are happy with.
I actually want the new option but need to wait until someone migrates the new ota with root. The new option supposedly gives better battery life when you turn down the resolution.
This was something I noticed was missing right when I setup the replacement. Personally I prefer the small option. Thanks for linking the app to change the screen

I could not write a new thread, I have no permission in xda yet :crying:
This program also has some settings using ini files. (Music playback information)
path : /sd_card/mymtcservice/music_popup.ini or /external_sd/mymtcservice/music_popup.ini or /data/data/rabbity.com.service/shared_prefs/music_popup.ini
I will continue to make good programs.

Thank you for this great app!
You may post replies to this thread, so you get 10 posts after which you can post your own thread. But post it in MTCB Software Development section as your work deserves that place
Once again, thank you for great work and I hope you will continue it.
Another important suggestion for you: take look to FCC Launcher (I poster that thread here also). Your app and FCC could be a great pair. Contact Dev (you may find his email in Playstore app info) and try synchronise your and his work. In past, Devs for MATCB/C/D have low or no synch and many functions overlap in their modules making mess and collisions etc. So try to complement and not overlap with FCC as he is also doing great job and provides some great special support for MTCB units specifically.

Some suggestions:
1. Add extended support for advanced (long press/double-click etc.) SWC and hw buttons (this is already supported by MTCKeys module but with clumsy .ini file which is too hard for ordinary users and most of HU owners here are not Android and Computer gurus)
2. Add toast notification for Radio station changing..

OK!!
later, see you in MTCB Software Development section
As for the FCC Launcher, I'll try to figure out what to do after testing.
Thank you for introducing a good launcher.

this seems to be more difficult to configure with UI
I will try to be able to support it as much as possible.
Have a nice weekend.

Hi!
Thank you for your work! I installed it on an mtcd px5, malaysk rom v. 2.0. Install was ok, module activated in xposed.
But it seems not to do any change in volume due to speed. The icon in center of screen appears as it should, but no difference in volume...
Hi, looks like a good module. The only thing stopping me replacing Xposed-MTC-Manager is feature where it keeps the HU alive while starting the engine. If you could integrate this feature, that would be great.
Thank you for your feedback.

not only does it not work, but it seems to also prevent volume changes manually. Just fyi in case you're not aware.
Could you also look into the option for the mode button to not actually pop up the favorites menu, but still stops the hu from performing its default mode action. This will then allow me to use mtcdtools to remap the mode button to my liking. Currently, when I remap it with MTCDtools, it still cycle through the default hu mode options..
Thank you for your feedback.

I did not know that does not control the screen brightness either.

1. Currently, volume control seems not to be controlled both manually and automatically.
plz wait a few days..
I am currently checking.
2. MODE button
To activate the MODE button as the original function, please disable the MODE settings, In the settings.

No, I don't think you understand. The px5 mode button on the steering wheel cannot be altered for me. It always cycle through radio..music..bt..DVD..etc..
Even if I use MTCDtools to remap, it still cycle through. With your mod, it stops cycling through. It will perform MTCDtools new mode setup instead, but also pop out your favorites. I was hoping you could have another option to disable the default mode cycling, but also does not pop out a favorite.
oops, my miss understand

Do you only want to disable the basic function of MODE?
Am i right??
It's not difficult for me.
I am just wondering how to add options. (UI or INI file)
But why would you want to disable the feature?

I want to disable mtc's mode function as I do not use the mtc music app, DVD or bt..however, I still want to be able to use the mode button on the steering wheel and map it to a different function.
Thanks!
Can't get the popup to show radio info. It works with music track info but does not show anything on radio.
I am using the latest 5.1.1 ROM with MicroG on a 1024x600 MTCC unit. I will try to use other mtcradio app and see if anything changes.
L.E. Figured it out. You also need xposedmtcradio installed in order to show radio info in the widget.

Could you please add support for changing OBD2 adapter BT name? That is provided with xposed-mtc-manager from MVG-V70 at 4pda. As I understood that you are in contact with him or other Russian Devs, you could ask him for help. Having that would be very useful feature. Many users need it and installing whole xposed-mtc-manager just for that is unnecessary burden for already overburden units like rk3066.
