Got in last night and turned my Diamond off. Went to start it this morning and it wont do anything at all (no power or lights). Put it on charge, the bottom of the device gets hot but the actual battery is still room temperature, and it still wont switch on.
Anyone got any ideas? I'm nervous about taking it for repair as I have flashed ROM ;-(
Allready tried to remove the battery for a minute or so? Unplugged of course.
Perhaps the reset-button helps.
So I may have dropped my phone into a puddle this morning but I did manage to take it out in less than 3 seconds and remove the battery.
I waited a few hours and tried to turn it on but it would not. Thinking it was still wet I left it in the sun today hoping it would dry out.
Just now I plugged it into the computer with the battery in and saw that it starts, but it only shows the HTC logo and then reboots. Does anyone know why this would be?
I'm going to let it dry out a little longer and I hope that'll fix it.
Any other advice?
Thanks
Ok, so I've put in a bag of rice overnight but it's still doing the same thing.
Sometimes it makes it up to the Stick Together logo but then it just reboots.
Is there anything else I can try? I need the Focus S to come out now
Ok, so did some fiddling, rebooting into Bootloader and recovery environment and now it turns on fine! Not sure what the problem was but it's all good. Yay.
Hi, Yesterday my phone got wet in my pocket in a rainstorm. I took the battery out and put it into rice for 12 hrs approx. Then took the phone apart and dried it using a hair dryer.
After an hour, I tried to turn it on. When I place the battery, it turns on automatically, shows Semaphore Splash Screen and Galaxy S logo, but restarts after a few seconds (<5 secs).
Tried to go to Download/Recovery Mode, it goes but the phone restarts, again.
I guessed it might be a battery problem. So I tested another one. After placing it, the phone shows a charging sign which is odd because it's not connected to a power source.
Has an ICS Slim v4 Custom ROM + Semephore v2.7.4; if it helps.
As you know, I can not flash a new ROM 'cause it's not stable in Download/Recovery Mode.
Is there a hardware problem here? Which part?
Any help would be appreciated.
It is possible that water is still inside the switches etc.
I'm not sure if you know these little bags that sometimes are inside of the packaging of stuff you buy. These little bags are moisture absorbers.
I would go to a computer or musicstore to check if they have these around in their warehouse somewhere.
Then if you have these bags lock them up with your phone in an almost closed (plastic) case for a couple of days.
I was on the phone, calling, and the phone suddenly slip from my hand, hit the table and land on the floor. I don't use any case. I check my 1 month old one mini 2 and the screen is off, trying to turn it on again and nothing happen. the device still on stock rom, not rooted. Battery was about 80% before it fell. I tried combination power + vol up button at 1 solid minutes and nothing happen. I tried to charge and LED wasn't turn on.
now I just charge it, but I check that neither phone and charger warm, just like when I do normal charging. I mean, WHY HTC?? it's only fell half meter and it now broke??
if anyone have this issue, are there any other solution beside send it to HTC? someone please help me.

if theres no marks, just send it to HTC and they will fix it.
just dont tell them about the fall and youll be fine.
They usually fix everything for free anyway.
They didnt charge to put back bootloader and stoxk rom.
Well I dropped my HTC one in the water, I quickly removed it, turned it off, dried it off and stuck it in a bag of rice. After about a hour it started restarting itself, only to the android boot screen then turns back off, approximately on for 3 seconds. I have tried holding the power button and the volume down to get to boot screen, I have selected all options but the phone turns back off before anything is actually done.
I left it to die overnight and waited a extra day before trying to charge it. After a minute of being plugged in the same bootloop occurs, I believe something is be shorted causing it to restart. What should I do? I would have to open the phone I assume.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I didn't respond because I wanted to test out your theory and report back after. The battery was already depleted so I didnt have to power down. I did leave it in rice for a week or so, put the phone on charge and it seems the same problem is occurring somehow. Not sure what happened to cause it, it must be getting shorted out somehow but after a week I would think it should be fine. Not sure what to do now, I may take it to a repair person but don't want to pay much money to get it fixed when the phones not worth as much anymore.
