Has anyone tried benchmarking their Note 9 (SD845 version) a benchmarking app?
After a few minutes, the phone throttles to 2/3 of its max performance.
I am surprised that the Note 9 throttles so quickly despite how much Samsung praises its cooling system.
Is this normal behavior for the Note 9? It would be very helpful if someone can benchmark with the SD 845 version of Note 9 and post their results.

It is normal. Don't forget that you have really small space in a phone body. The better cooling won't help with that and 100% loads will throttle it fast. The cooling will take effect in real world scenarios where the load is not at 100% for all cores at max frequency. It will help with gaming for example or intense real usage. So don't worry, it can't do wonders, but it defo helps with the phone performance in heavier tasks/usage compared to the s9/s9 plus.
I got S10 a week ago, and it gets hot under very light use (like only recording video for like 5 minutes) is this normal, or should i go change it, if i can.
It is an issue with S10 that have an exynos. I am not sure but apparently the snapdragon variants do not have this problem (at least not to that extend). You can either live with this or return it and look for another phone. Personally I have returned my S10e, samsung can go f* themselves for selling two different versions of a smartphone.
After 5 minutes of recording [email protected] with my s10e Exynos, the CPU temp is 43 and battery temp is 39. The phone is a little warm on the left side but nothing that would cause me to worry.
Total Newb here, so plz go easy on me. 4a 5G is said to have a 90hz display. Is this refresh rate? If so, mine is only reporting 60hz, and I dont know why...? Any ideas?
pixel 4a 5g display has 60Hz
Hi guys.
Does it worth to trade my OnePlus 7 Pro with S20 fe?
Thank you.

If you're not sure, the answer is no - only upgrade for clear improvements/performance gains - otherwise why would you upgrade?

I have oneplus 7 pro 1 and a half year and I want some change.
That's why I'm thinking of S20 fe.

there are dozens of videos on YouTube of the OnePlus 8T (newer than yours) up against S20FE and Pixel 4a etc. go watch a bus load of videos and you'll have a better idea. aside from that FE will have a newer processor, a memory card slot or dual SIM, but only you should decide if it's worth it.
remember there are a few versions of the FE and they are not all the same.

Nope. It's not worth it. It also charges too slowly compared to oneplus. Wait for s21 fe or oneplus 9

I agree - and I just upgraded to the S20 FE 5G. But I was coming from a Galaxy S9+, which is a year older than your 7 Pro. Even then, the S20 FE doesn't blow me away in comparison - I actually think the screen is nicer (and brighter in normal use) on the S9+, and I'm still getting used to the punch hole camera, and lack of a notification light. I bought it mainly for the increase in storage (as I use the SD Card slot for a second SIM, so can't add memory) and the 120 MHz display, faster processor etc. Even then, I don't really find it noticeably faster in normal use - as I mentioned in another post, it never ceases to amaze me just how much marketing departments and the media exaggerate each year's (real world) improvements. All of which is to say that phones have gotten so good - and have been for a few years now - that it makes no sense to upgrade until you either have to or there is a clear advantage to doing so.
Edit: Having done some more side-by-side comparison, the S20 FE 5G is noticeably faster of course, and the screen is fine. Plus, the battery life has been stellar. All-in-all, it's a great phone for the price - especially the 8GB/256GB 5G version.

You generally don't want your phones to charge really fast, it's extremely detrimental to battery's lifespan. 15W-25W is already overdoing it and should be the maximum for most people.
I rarely get this phone below 50% and then it's up to 75 again pretty quick. if you want your phone to charge faster turn off Wi-Fi, go into airplane mode or even better switch it off for 30 mins.

Or, better yet, just don't constantly watch it charge...
Hello all, there is this game i play; bus simulator Indonesia. Many of my friends play this game, all of them has high end device with powerful snapdragon chips, 6 months ago one of my friend bought poco f3 that has sd870 5G clock rate 3.20ghz. I was using a oneplus 7tpro McLaren 855+ at 2.98ghz which served me well, but than comes the poco f3. Which was insanely fast. In this game loading next map is a big deal, newer chipset and faster clock rate translates to faster loading, i was happy with my 7tpro, at times i saw it had beat rog 5 in terms of loading speed. So 3 months ago i got the oneplus 10pro 8 gen 1, but still i couldn’t beat the loading speed of poco f3, i did some research and i found out It's due to the clock speed. 10pro has a clock rate of 3.0ghz. So i wasn’t happy with the performance from 10pro, because it Couldn't beat the poco f3 which was 3x cheaper than 10pro. So 10 days ago i got the oneplus 10t, that has 8gen+1 clock rate 3.19ghz 16gb edition and here comes the shocker, my 10t still falls short when compared to the loading speed of poco f3, i Couldn't believe what was happening. How is the poco f3 still so much faster than 10t?? I Don't know what to do now, i was kind of embarrassed because i told everyone my 10t would be faster than the poco f3, now i am thinking about unlocking bootloader and overclocking my 10t. Any ideas on this matter is highly appreciated. Thankyou.

Have you turned on high performance mode in battery advanced settings?

Yes, it's always on and it's useless, there's no difference to be honest.
It's nothing to do with clock speeds.. unless it's an identical processor.
Chances are the Poco has a lower screen resolution, if you're running your phone in QHD mode then you're pushing a tonne more pixels than any of the Poco devices.
Lower your resolution to FHD+ then retry.
Another thing to note is that not all processors are made equally, some just perform better than others and this unfortunately is a lottery, you simply don't know what you're going to get.
What firmware are you running? If it's Android 13 then it'll probably run better but will overheat quicker and as such will result in throttling.
If you're rooted then grab Franco kernel manager and tweak your clock speeds for the GPU and CPU or even the governor.
If you're not rooted then you'll have expanded RAM turned on, this will result in slower performance in regards to gaming performance as the DDR RAM used is faster than the storage swap file.
Lastly, the load time of the game has nothing to do with how well it plays, the FPS dictates the performance of a CPU/GPU.
You can get games/apps to load quicker by tweaking a setting to make apps load faster, check settings for this.
One more thing is what is your Poco friend running? If it's a custom ROM then they may already be pushing their device beyond its stock capabilities.
The 8 gen 1 should definitely be quicker than any of the Poco devices.
Download AetherX2 and grab a PS2 game like Tekken Tag (must own original) then see how your phone performs compare to the Poco, it should make it look weak as hell.
Its All About Optimization.
You can overclock or just disable thermal throattling to gain more performance..
I'm coming from Poco f3 overclocked..
There is alot of differences btw these two devices..
You have to do Optimizations to gain high level performance.
1. Root Op10 Pro
2. Install Thermal throattling Magisk module
Or
After Rooting Install Uperf Module and select Performance Governor..
Op 10 Pro Is Far ahead of Poco F3
Edit: I'm Stuck while Over-Clocking Op10pro Because of Vbmeta Verity.. If i'm able to get it work then it'll be +37% Performance then Stock 8gen1

You honestly don't need to overclock the 8 gen 1. The hardest thing you can throw at it is AetherX2, beyond that there isn't anything much it can't do

I've experienced the same as you, because previously I've owned and Asus Rog Phone 5 with SD888, but when I've get the OP10 Pro, I've immediately noticed that OP10Pro feels the same or even worse , talking about app speed opening and overall performance, so for my luck another Asus Rog phone 5 come to my hands, it was only the 8gb/128gb version, however i've tested side by side and figure out that the ASUS was effectively faster than the OP10pro, and even made an Antutu and Geekbench 5 test on both and i cant believe, that the Asus got a better score on both synthetic benchmarks.
Then I've made a deal with the Rog phone 5 , so I've got and Xiaomi Mi11 T pro with SD 888 and same result, plus the Xioami feels more fluid and responsive.
Even i've thought it can be related to the Android 13 open beta 2 I was, downgrade to A12 to test, and worst results.
Very disappointed with Oneplus, I'm actually selling the phone to bought and Asus Rog phone 5s, saving almost 200 bucks.
