Wifi Calling Access - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Guides, News, & Discussion

Install Activity Launcher. Search for "call" (no s), select Settings, select "com.android.settings.Settings#WifFCallingSettingsActivity", create and save the shortcut to your home screen. The shortcut should open to Wi-Fi Calling menu where you can toggle it on and off.

Shortcut to Settings>Phone>Band

I have managed to create a shortcut which will take me directly to the Band tab in the Phone settings app. This will enable me to switch between GSM/3g and power cycle the radio with a couple less screen taps. I am having dificulty getting an approriate icon to display and I welcome any suggestions.
The shortcut properties are
Code:
"ctlpnl.exe" cplmain.cpl,20,3

*#*#4636#*#* "Testing" Menu

Is there any other way to access this screen. I'd really like a shortcut to it since I am switching back and forth from Edge to 3g twice a day.
Use a different ROM. CM6 has that feature on one click.
Even with the stock ROM you can toggle 2/3G, but it's not a nice handy widget like in CM6. You'll find it in settings, under Settings -> Wirless & Networks -> Mobile Network -> Use Only 2G Networks
With CM6 you can add an item to the power control widget to toggle 2/3G. Win!
Time to kick an old thread. The *#*#4636#*#* app and the 2G/3G toggle can be added as a shortcut with AnyCut.
Just launch AnyCut and hit "Activity."
The *#*#4636#*#* screen is called "Testing," and the 2G/3G screen is one tap away with a shortcut to the AnyCut activity "GSM/UMTS options."

Bluetooth power control widget useless? / username in gtalk

There a bluetooth icon in the power control widget, it turns bluetooth on, but i dont see the use of it , i turn it on but my friends arent able to send me their pictures because my phone is invisible i have to go to settings, wireless connections and make my device visible EVERY time, am i doing something wrong?
Another thing that bugs me is that in gtalk my username looks like "[email protected]" how can i make it look like "chad petree" ?
The Bluetooth toggle in the Power Control widget is useful when you're using devices with which you're already paired, such as a headset or a tablet you're tethering on a regular basis. You turn on Bluetooth in the widget, and you're usually good to go.
When you're looking to connect with devices with which you're not already paired, then you have to go through steps in the settings (making your device discoverable, scanning for devices, etc.) to connect with that device. For quicker access to the Bluetooth settings, you can create a shortcut on your home screen:
Long press home screen
Select "Shortcuts"
Select "Settings"
Select "Bluetooth settings"
That should save a few clicks, at least.
I think Android's "Discoverable" option times out after 120 seconds (rather than just leaving it permanently on) for security reasons, and I'm not sure if that timeout can be overridden.

No option for Advanced WiFi settings? [N920I]

Hi,
I seem to have no option for Advanced Settings in WiFi.
Clinking more in WiFi gives me:
Add network
WPS push button
WPS PIN entry
Smart Network switch
Keep WiFi on during sleep
Always allow scanning
Install network certificates
Can't post image links yet.
Long press on your WiFi network name and you will get the advanced settings .
Cheers~

Notification Access

Does anyone know where I can find the Notification Access option? I tried looking through the settings, but couldn't find anything. Thank you in advance.
It doesn't appear they put a link for it in the rom, I don't think it's the only thing they left out.
Two ways to do this.
1. Install "Light Flow", it will ask you to turn on Notification Access and open it for you. Don't enable it for Light Flow or you won't be able to get back there using Light Flow.
2. Buy and run Nova Launcher Prime, then install TeslaUnread, run it and tap on Notification Bar Watcher to open the notification access setting.
If you use Nova Launcher, you can create a shortcut to almost any settings menu with their activities widget. Other launchers may be similar.
1. Press and hold to bring up the settings options.
2. Choose Widget
3. Under Nova Launcher at the top choose "activities". Press and hold to drop to the screen.
4. Scroll down the menu that pops up until you get to "settings".
5. Press the arrow on the left of settings and then scroll and select the item you want. In this case it would be "notification access".
Sorry for the late notice. I was able to get access to the Notification Access by installing the Mi Band Notify. I was setting up the Xiaomi Mi Band to alert me when I received text messages. As soon as the program was launched, it prompted me to enable the notification access. Thank you for following up.
