SM-N960N Dual Sim Functionality - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Dear All,
I recently bought a refurbished Note 9. The owner said it was dual sim, N960F model. However, after doing some research, I came to know it is N960N, with SuperStable SP3.0 Rom and they have somehow modded this phone to work with dual sims. The software version is Android 9 with One UI 1.0 and it has no update option which is obvious due to customized rom. TWRP is already installed. Now, my question is, If I install SuperStable latest rom with One UI 2.1 and Android 10 using TWRP, will it affect my dual sim functionality and IMEIs? Will IMEIs be changed? Or there would be no issue?
Please help.

if the latest superstable version supports dual sim, which i guess it does, then you will keep dual sim function with no issue.
Your original imei will be the same. dual sim on Korean version is very popular and easy to mod in almost every custom roms.

Hey guys, I just bought a Galaxy S 3 SCL21 here in Japan from AU KDDI. It is the 4G LTE, 2GB RAM variant.
So far I have not been able to find a rooting method for this phone. It is currently running ICS 4.0.4 build number IMM76D.SCL21KDALJD.
Any help is appreciated.

Hello,
I'm with you in the "SCL21, I need help" department. Some info for you though, the international versions are in fact, very different. and the docomo version is too. DON'T use the docomo root method, it will brick your phone.
you can, however use the TeamEpic CWM recovery method. or the Mskip's Toolkit method. I've used both, and it flashes just fine. The problem I run into, is when I try to boot into recovery...the phone doesn't load. It gets stuck with an upside down SGS III logo. It will load into the normal android though. good luck. and if I come across a good method, I'll let you know. you're not alone.

Yup, I'm there, too. If there's anybody out there with the Japanese AU version that hasn't already made this mistake, it would be great if they could pull the stock recovery from it with Odin... maybe if we had that, we could revive ours. I can still get to download mode, so there's still hope, right?

You might try the following links to restore your phone. I am looking at getting the same phone this month or next, so very curious if anyone succeeds in restoring.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23188887&postcount=1
The second link requires an unmodified phone, so you might have to ask around your network and see if anyone can help. Good luck!

If you happen to be able to restore your phone and wanna give it another crack. Maybe try the CWM all variants tar and see if it gets you any further. Unfortunately I can't post outside links yet, so you'll have to google for it!
Make sure to follow the directions! ;-D
If you guys are wanting to try other cwm root methods, I would choose one of the Qualcomm S4 root methods, namely either the Verizon, Us Cellular or Sprint as those would be the closest to this model. I would certainly doublecheck the partition table first though.
Oh, and if/when you guys do get root, would any of you mind pulling your radio partition? I'm curious about something with it.
Edit: Scratch that. I'm heading over to Samfirmware.com for the files, if you need to ODIN to stock, head over there and you can pull the files to restore your device.
SCL21 Conflicting reports :/
Hi everyone,
I just got the SCL21 about two weeks ago. I think it's really strange that even on the Japanese forums, there is very little info on rooting this model. From everything I've found, some Japanese sites also both say it's OKAY to root using the Docomo SC-06D recovery and Superuser zip while others say that it's NOT safe to use that same method and it will result in a bricked phone. Really odd, conflicting messages!
I know that some people successfully rooted by flashing the SC-06D custom recovery and then Superuser zip. But, it it also seems like many have ended up with a bricked phone while using this "Docomo method". I tried Bin4ry’s Root and Restore v30 but no luck installing Superuser after the ADB push from the Windows command prompt completed.
I just found the Team Epic CWM recovery method but according to Bopatriot, it flashes fine and then won't boot into recovery. Anyone have any ideas why this model phone is so difficult to root successfully?
Thanks guys!
Any Luck?
I was able to find a post somewhere about the stock rom for it that works with the SCL21 phone but, it was still 4.0.4(epic fail). Anyone have any luck finding 4.1+?
Repeat this is I9305 forum no information on other phones .
Try sammobile.com
4.1.2 was officially released for this phone just this week. Grab it OTA or from SamMobile and flash it.
If you need to root, the SC-06D method works fine.

[REQUEST] TWRP/CWM Backup of Lollipop

Hey guys i just a thread in the Android Development forum about a guy possibly making Lollipop work on many devices! It is a great news and can someone upload the CWM/TWRP Backup here? Needed to make a flashable zip!!
I actually need this kinda backup too. Whenever I try to flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/ota-moto-g-2014-xt1063-v22-11-6-android-t2939881 via stock recovery, it says "/system/lib/hw/sensort.MSM8226.so" has unexpected contents.
I'm trying hard to find a way on how to make a flashable zip, no luck though...

Hi first off i wanna say thank you!
I have an XT1064 that was rooted and bootloader unlocked, i downloaded the right version and restored it using TWRP and it worked! I am now on 5.0 with out using any PC or anything..the only thing is i cant send a text...calls work fine just no text messages...can you help me? I also want to get rid of the dual sim feature as my phone only has one sim. Please help!
Okay so I tried to download and flash the OTA.zip for my phone and flash it through stock recovery and it aborts when verifying my current system because of the edited build.prop in this build. Is there any way to fix this without a PC? I don't have access to one right now. Feel free to PM me! Thank you XDA

Thanks for this Recovery. I really appreciate it. However, I am stuck with the phone thinking it's a Dual SIM phone.
How do I make it recognize that it's just one SIM Card.
Thanks.

What custom rom for my p8 lite 2015 [Ale-l21]?

Hi guys,
first off congratulations for the forum, is awesome and quite interesting
As written in the title, i need a new rom for my p8 lite ale l-21
Currently, i'm on the emui 4.1.3 but my phone drains battery really too fast and i only can do 3 hours of display and nothing much.
I've changed the battery and the results are the same and so i've decided to flash a new rom
I've already unlocked the bootloader with dc unlocker and i will install this recovery https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/orig-development/twrp-t3583180 but i really don't know what rom is suitable for me.
I'm searching a rom with descrete battery life and discrete performances and I saw that there are many on the forum but I can't understand which one is the best so I would need opinions
What would you recommend?

Do you already have magisk installed? If yes, then just install from there magisk manager gsm doze. If you did that, and it's appearing in "modules" than you have it enjoy your "new" phone.

Proper Odin Version for flashing firmware?

Before I start, I apologize and I know this shouldn't be in the Q&A Thread but I am a new user and unable to post it in the other thread
So I recently purchased a Galaxy S10 from Best Buy and I noticed I didn't have Advanced Call features such as Wifi-Calling and Video Calling. When I had asked about this, it turns out that I had purchased the unlocked S10 and had them set it up with my provider as Verizon.
I have been reading some posts by iBowToAndroid and I am wondering if I would be able to flash my phone into being locked with Verizon and get the Advanced Calling features without losing anything on my phone currently.
I already have the G973U firmware files from iBowToAndroid's post as well as the Verizon USERDATA file. I also tried setting up Samsung USB Drivers but the install failed. I'm not sure if this is necessary as I am still very new to this whole thing.
If this is possible, what version of Odin should I be downloading?
Is there anything else that I would need?
I'm using v3.13.3 and it's working perfectly fine.

I had this happen as well...then got a firmware image (from sammobile) with a later date than the firmware that was on my phone already. Flashing that newer firmware image was successful the first time through. Although in my case I was flashing back from T-Mobile firmware to unlocked firmware, same idea. I think that it might have been related to needing a newer boot version or something, but until I got the later version of unlocked firmware, the flash would fail reliably at abl.elf, before it got rolling.
And the version of Odin that worked for me was the patched Odin3_v3.13.1_3B. Didn't try the unpatched version.
