The P40 Pro + was an amazing phone and I got GMS working on it fine (struggled without it at first for a couple of vital APPS!) I then moved to the dark side and currently have a Note 20 Ultra, but I miss the Huawei camera.
Questions for when the answers are available....
The Pro is announced for UK I believe, does anybody know if/when the Pro+ will be?
What do you guys think of a GMS option for the new Mate 40 range... do you think one will come fairly quickly?
Are you getting a Mate 40 in any spec?
I ordered mine, white from Cina.
Which model? And excuse my ignorance but does one from China cause any UK issues with language, side loading Google or updates?

I was contemplating checking out this phone, but I looked up the 5G NR bands and it doesn't include the bands used here in Canada. Telus, Bell, and Rogers all use N66 and Rogers also uses N71. Neither of those are included in the Mate 40 *.
Make sure you check the bands for your country and carrier before ordering.
OK, I've found a company I can buy it from but I'm finding scary stories about buying a chinese (rather than UK) phone -
"Updates will be OTA, however you may not receive updates correctly as you will be using a UK SIM, not a Chinese SIM"
I have no experience of ever buying a non-UK, sim free phone.
Help really appreciated please.
Hello I bought it on tradingshenzen day 2 November as available in stock 10 pieces Huawei Mate 40 Pro + Plus NOP-AN00 White color but the seller after three days from the order, told me that they had made a mistake on availability and between else you have to wait 1 or 2 weeks. But if anyone knows a place where it is available immediately, I'd like to have a link so I get a refund and buy it because it pisses me off that they tell you available and then you have to wait days and days. Huawei Mate 40 Pro + Plus and they are receiving the parcels and I don't understand why there is no availability at the moment for other sites Mah ....

Hello I have been buying Huawei Mate series for many years and only and exclusively with Chinese firmware but obviously multilingual and I can tell you the updates arrive without problems before the global version ones.

your best options are aliexpress xda wont let me post external inks so just remove the spaces from links below
aliexpress . com/w/wholesale-huawei-mate-40-pro.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.234c7a72rC5H7n&CatId=5090301
keep in mind prices will be higher than in local Chinese market but alot cheaper than trading shenzen giztop and other reseller sites
if you cheaper price buy it here jd.com or tmall.com
search . jd. com/Search?keyword=mate%2040%20pro&enc=utf-8
most of the cheaper listing are sold out right now but you can find some higher prices ones keep in mind on these sites you will need a shipping agent incase you do not have one just make an account ytaopal .com/ and paste the link you want to buy in your dashboard they will buy it and ship it to you I have used them before not for mobile phone but for other things do ask them about mobile phone shipping before placing the order sometimes battery goods cannot be sent from certain shipping companies if you do not want to do all this just buy it on aliexpress instead.
I would say go for mate 40 pro plus model as this time difference isnt just a 10x camera but alot more
1 . Extra 10x camera
2. SFS 1.0 ( 2 fold faster than ufs 3.1)* see the explanation below
3. 12 gb ram standard on both 256 gb and 512 gb
4. OIS built in 50MP camera not that mate 40 pro has the same camera but without OIS
5.Ceramic back
6. 3D Depth Sensing Camera instead of laser sensor which you get on mate 40 pro
all in all mate 40 pro plus is a different phone than mate 40 pro
price difference isnt much on JD.com mate 40 pro 256gb is 6999 yaun ( 1060$) and mate 40 pro plus 256gb is 8999 yaun ( 1360$) so for 300$ more you get so much more that matters alot.
Based on the results of measuring the homegrown Huawei SFS 1.0 flash module, it was possible to establish that it provides almost a twofold increase in the speed of operation in comparison with the UFS 3.1 flash memory.
According to reports, the sequential write speed was 1280 MB/s, and random 548 MB/s.
In comparison, these figures for UFS 3.1 are 700 MB/s, and 200-300 MB/s, respectively, GizChina reported.

Hi friend I know the features of Huawei Mate 40 Pro + Plus NOP-AN00 and I thank you for the detailed explanation you wrote. On all the sites you mentioned to me there is no availability, also on vmall.com or jd you cannot buy it but only in China. As for the Flash memory on the NOP-AN00 Huawei Mate 40 Pro + Plus model there is no 512 Gb version but only and exclusively 256 Gb.

Friend I tried to register on the site you just told me to make purchases and I put the link with the article taken on the jd.com site and it works but you can not recharge with paypal and I do not like this because when I pay large amounts I use only paypal and second thing by doing the accounts on tradingshenzen I managed to buy it even if I'm still waiting for it to arrive at 1369 euros (1,625.60 USD) including Dhl express transport + paypal commissions regarding the tax and therefore all included so I would say the price agrees for the amount that I managed to win Huawei Mate 40 Pro + Plus NOP-AN00. But checking in all the Chinese sites jd etc. etc. the fact remains that Huawei Mate 40 Pro + Plus (NOP-AN00) are not available especially the white color so this lack of availability is not new to what I am understanding but really right now there is no availability and maybe next week they will send me.

Friend thank you but I have already purchased Huawei Mate 40 Pro + Plus (NOP-AN00) on November 2nd and am just waiting for them to ship it to me as soon as it is available. On aliexpress in addition to the fact that it costs a lot compared to what I managed to get it, they tell you all those units are available but it is not true because they give you 15/22 days shipping time with Dhl Express so it means that they are not available because the express courier it will never take all those days but they say it on purpose because they take time until it is available to them to be able to ship it. Believe me I have looked for this model in all places but there is no availability in any place really.

Hey now,
As a citizen of a country called Belgium, i have found it very difficult to purchase the Nexus devices. I wonder what your experience has been on the previous nexus devices, and where you traveled to to get one. I myself went to Denmark to search over 4 different provider stores to finally get one without a contract.

I live in Hungary, so no Play Store devices for me as well. Here, I could get it from bigger stores like Media Markt or buy it from the provider for a really high price. Either way, it's more expensive than buying directly from Google.

Might worth a trip. My only concern would be the warranty. I always take care of my phones, but if something happens, I guess I would have to send it back to Germany for instance.

Where I come from, while Nexus devices are available, but the release date varies a lot.
Nexus S was released about 7 months after US.
No clue about Galaxy Nexus, didn't follow the news.
Nexus 7 was released like 8 months after US.
Nexus 4 was released like 3 months after US.
And the price is just insane. I mean, when Nexus 4 came out, it was priced about $550 for the 16GB unlocked (off-contract) version if I convert it to USD.
Nonetheless, I'm hoping the Nexus 5, which is to be released by LG. follow suit with the Nexus 4. I think 2-3 months is an "okay" time range. 7-8 months? Hell no.
I live in Belgium too and for my mobile I go in Germany (Aachen-Aix la Chapelle) which is 30 minutes from my place. It's cheaper then Belgium and the mobile are unlocked. For example for my GS3 it was 100euros cheaper in Germany.
For my future Nexus 5 I will go there.
I had to order the Nexus 4 via eBay from the UK. I even had to use forward2me service because the seller couldn't deliver to my address. Heck, I paid about $620 in total, but it was well worth it! I got it like 2 weeks after the release. I live in Latvia by the way.
I just hope Nexus 5 won't have stock problems like it was with Nexus 4.

I'm from belgium too.
I'm wondering about the warenty.
Do we have to go back to germany for this warenty?
I really want to buy the nexus 5
I hope it's available from Amazon.com or similar. Then I'm gonna import it from the US and although there's gonna be taxes and stuff, the price is gonna be like $650. Still cheaper than bying say a SGS4 here, it costs more than $900.
I'll wait until it's available on ibood.com. Nexus 4 were sold there on several occasions.
I may also ask friend from UK to get me one when it's available at UK play store.

You think that's insane? Media Market, in Portugal, is selling it (right now) for ~683$
Thats f insane.
I found no problem of buying it in England for 160 pounds new boxed but receipe on a third person so warranty not void. Flashed a custom kernel after 2 weeks anyway, as overheating issues was killing me and the battery as well. In poland U can get it with 24months of warranty for 250 pounds no problem on auctions.
You can buy the Nexus 5 for 399 euros on coolblue (dot) be , you can also buy the Nexus 4 there and the Nexus 7.
Hope I helped you in time.

Thank you for the information, however I still find it outrageous to sell a 16GB version for 399 EUR about 539 USD, when the google play store price is 345 USD.
I am also living currently in Belgium and find the best prices to be on amazon.de or amazon.fr, depending on the products. The warranty is generally as good as when buying through a physical store and the price difference compared to other stores like Media Markt / Fnac or / Vandenborre is usually at least 100 EUR cheaper.
Lets hope that Google stops with this nonsense and starts selling in other EU countries too and while their at it they can also include a micro sd card slot in their future Nexus devices

I hope it's available from Amazon.com or similar. Then I'm gonna import it from the US and although there's gonna be taxes and stuff, the price is gonna be like $650. Still cheaper than bying say a SGS4 here, it costs more than $900.

First of all, $345 is not a real price, as you forget to add sales tax.
Second thing, you can blame silly european governments that imposed 21% VAT.

Hi Folks!
I'm groupie like interested in the Phone.
Does anyone know a reference option - in my case to germany?
Please only real suggestions - ie shops in which the device is already available / orderable.
TradingShenzen is known already.
Who knows more?

I am very interested in this phone. Hope there is a reputable company we can buy it from China and ship it to the states
Gearbest.com have already confirmed they will be stocking the phone on Nov 4th. Also worth checking the official Xiaomi store too
I've always had good luck with ibuygou.com. I've bought my Mi4c from GearBest, and it came with a fake MIUI ROM. So now I avoid GearBest.

gearbest has them on preorder but the prices are insane. geekbuying also has them for noticeably better prices but i haven't dealt with them in-person ( general opinion is that they are okay)

I've pre-ordered from banggood.com. Took me a while to find the "pro" 18k version that comes out less than $1000AU to avoid import tax, and I still had to apply a coupon. It currently fluctuates daily around the $1003/1004 mark. They do not get stock in till the 30th...but...first of all I want to wait for reviews. Second of all there is a nice big button next to the order in "my account" that says "Apply Refund"

10k a month won't even be enough for china let alone all of us burning to get it globally :/
We should discuss buying and using the oneplus 5 in Australia here as it won't be sold to Australia.
Things to discuss could include:
Place in which we bought it
Price
4g bands ( looks like A5000 supports band 28 and 1800mhz for 4g plus. They also say it has universal bands. What do you think of that?)
Reparability
Etc
Share your thoughts down below if your live in Oz or nz.
From New Zealand here, hoping there is no "global" and "Chinese" models with different bands supported so I can simply buy off Aliexpress or Gearbest etc and get it sent straight here.
Same. I'm also looking at kogan/**** smith as they sold the 3t too at a low price.

I can't seem to find videos or reviews with different models like the 3t.
All I can see is the a5000 which supposedly has international bands.
Can you correct me if I'm wrong.
Here's the bands the one plus 5 supports (a5000)
Looks like band 28 and 1800mhz is supported which are 4gx or 4g+ compatible.

I'm looking into the best ways to buy the oneplus and ship it here.
It looks like these 3rd party sites are expensive compared to the US$ then converted to Aud. It might be worth to buy it in the US then buy shipping from USA to australia via shopmate Australia Post
Hey Guys,
Ive been itching to get the Oneplus 5, ive decided that im just going to go ahead and get it directly from Oneplus in the US but I don't which freight forwarder to trust with this. Has anyone bought anything this pricey from the US before and had a good experience? I know I could just go with shopmate but they are slow and I kind of need to get this before I move.
Thanks for any feed back.

The main one I would trust is the shipmate from Australia post. But if for a bit extra there's some 3rd party sites that sell grey imports to Australia that u can check out.
What would the total price be with the oneplus + shopmate?
Apparently prices are going to drop in 2 days. Also more 3rd party websites will sell it then too
http://ausdroid.net/2017/06/26/oneplus-5-goes-on-sale-tomorrow-where-will-you-be-getting-yours-from/
That websites gives us some useful information.
OP5 only one model A5000 allows for band 28 700mhz .. Christmas bought a OP3t from Nextbuying.. running global oxygen OS ans support OTA update..
Anyone planning to buy one and import to Australia or NZ? If so where from?

I think you've got the right idea @Jamie_oppo, I ordered it and got it sent to ShopMate.
Price of the Oneplus 5 128GB and the car charger was AU$779.35 (including a $19.01 foreign transaction fee from my bank), according to the shopmate shipping calculator it will cost AU$32.85 to get it sent to NSW, making the total AU$812.20.
Whilst I know that they grey imports are usually ok, I think there will be less risk getting it from oneplus direct and going with the slower Australia Post.
I'll let you know how it performs on Telstra when it arrives. It just got to Shopmate at about 3am AEST so shouldn't be long now ... I hope ...
Edit: Since you asked about price I just thought I would share my own comparison on the matter in case anyone else was interested ...
notes on the prices, all in AU$, all Australian stock prices not grey imports to try and keep things fair ... ish ...
Oneplus 5 128GB (With one Accessory) $812.20 (baseline price)
Pixel XL 128GB $1419.00 ($606.80 Saving)
LG G6 64GB $1149.00 ($336.80 Saving) (Official Australian Release not grey import from Kogan which can be had for $699 or $719 right now, normally $779)
Samsung Galaxy S8+ 64GB $1349.00 ($536.80 Saving)
HTC U11 64GB $999.00 ($186.80 Saving) ... and just for good measure:
iPhone 7 Plus 128GB $1419 ($606.80 Saving)
A lot of the tech reviewers I've seen have been complaining about the price of the OP5 ... I don't get it, even to pay shipping to Australia I am saving a good sum of money compared to other flagships, take the Pixel and Samsung, for some people that is about $100 shy of a full weeks wage in savings. Seems like good value to me.
What are your thoughts?
Yeah that's not a bad price for the 128gb and dash car charger.
I would also buy a converter from us plug to au plug and see if dash charge works. They are like 10$ from bunnings or kogan.
Good luck and keep us updated. It should work good with telstra and 4g+.
Hahah the zip I tried posting in my device thread and it posted here lol. Please ignore that
I've already ordered a cheapo $2.50 adaptor from ebay, it should still work, the official specs say the charger is rated for (quote) "Input: 100-240V~50/60Hz 0.6A"
What are your thoughts on price compared to other flagships as in the edit above?
Yeah its way cheaper.
Everything is way more expensive here.
The s8 is way to expensive and I wouldn't get the lg as for the skin and older processor. And the HTC is OK but nothing that special.
The one plus is a bargain compared to the rest.
Yeah I don't understand when they say it's too close to flagship price. Its still half the price here for the base model. That just shows we get ripped off here.
I would properly buy the base model for $633 aud plus 32$ aud for shipping. I don't know if there is a fee for my bank.

It would appear that we do get massively ripped off, but the thing is these big companies won't change unless we ALL (even the non-tech lovers among us) do something about it that hurts their bottom line, take for example when adobe first brought in their creative cloud, it was so much more expensive than in the US, their excuse ... "Local Optimisations" ... WTF we speak the exact same language you dumb arses... then the government had their IT price enquiry and the price magically came down ...
I only went for the 128GB version for the storage, I don't give a damn about the RAM (haha that rhymed ... lol), On my current phone I have about 45GB of music alone
Your bank will most likely have an international purchase fee, it would be as rare as a dragon egg if they didn't, you would need to check with them exactly what it is but it's usually a fixed transaction fee (sometimes 10-25 cents) plus a percentage of the whole transaction, or they will just take their cut out of the exchange rate (say for example the exchange rate $0.75 they would only give you maybe $0.72), Just depends on how they handle it. Take for example my bank, they charged "2.5% of the amount of the International Transaction". You can normally find this info in a "Fee Schedule", my banks is here for your reference: ingdirect com au / pdf / Orange_Everyday_Fees_and_Limits_Schedule pdf.
I hope that helps you

Hi everyone,
I'm due to upgrade my phone and really keen on the note 9 but to buy in the UK it is costly. I'm looking at buying from the EU but there's a variety of model types with subtle differences in bands.
Please would someone be able to advise me whether for example N9600 or N960FD would be fully compatible with the UK networks?
The N9600 appears to be fully compatible with UK bands but I'm new to buying non UK phones.
Plus if they're both compatible, would one be better than the other?
Thanks in advance

Have a look on www1.techinthebasket.com - I picked up my previous Note 8 SM-N950F/DS for £633 back in October last year. It was a Taiwan model (BRI) but picked up XEU / BTU CSC when I put my O2 SIM in it and it worked flawlessly. They have Note 9's in now for good prices as well. They only accept PayPal so you're covered. I also picked up a Surface Pro 4 from them a couple of years ago and saved over £200. Well worth a try.

Ah, looks like they've only got the Snapdragon version in at the moment - £880 for the SD 512GB/8GB and £629 to £679 dependant on colour for the SD 128GB/6GB is still pretty damn good. Keep checking though, they did have the Exynos versions in for around the same price a few days ago...
Really good prices.
The only thing that's holding me back is to wait for the pixel 3xl. If some of the rumours are true about the Iarge screen, then I might go pixel, but other say it's only 6.1" and has a notch which renders it even smaller when watching film properly.
Thanks for the input so far. Note 9 is in number one spot, just need to compare to the pixel to firm up the choice
The N9600 probably won't work with some UK Cell Providers. You are better off getting the N960FD as that is a GSM device.

Nice find!
After reading the listing it doesn’t state anything about It having a year warranty with them instead they’ll only replace if the device is faulty within the first 30 days.... risky?!! ? .... Just checked again it doesn’t come with any warranty.... ?
Plus if you use the CODE: PERKS on eBay you get a further £50 off... Very tempting stuff
If the pixel 3xl is a bit underwhelming, I'd rather buy a note 9 with a warranty even if it costs more. Having had LG phone issues, I don't want the risk

The period of the warranty and the warranty service provided will be those of the country in Europe where the warranty claim is made.
Please note that this is a voluntary manufacturer’s warranty and provides rights in addition to, and does not affect statutory rights of end users. When you buy a non-European device, it is not covered under our European Warranty Policy. In that regard, when making a purchase please do check that the device is a European model.
Promotions extending or enhancing the terms of the limited manufacturer’s warranty are country specific and cannot be claimed in countries other than the promoting country.

Oh well haha, has anyone in the world ever actually needed a warranty? I certainly haven't ? It's like insurance, even if you try to claim on it, the odds of them paying out to you are so slim it's hardly worth bothering. It's also another price you pay for getting something significantly cheaper than in your own country, right now they're selling that phone over £200 cheaper than anywhere in this country, if you're so worried, take that 200 and buy insurance, or open a premium bank account for like £11 a month that offers you full mobile phone insurance like my girlfriend has, she can essentially just launch her phone at the wall and they'll pay out for a replacement ?

Believe it or not i had an issue with my S8 plus (Snapdragon 835 variant) a year ago (screen issue) used it for about 8 months, it took about a month to resolve but ended up getting a refund instead lol
I know what your saying, looks like I'll just go with WondaMobile instead of eBay, that way my mind will be at ease
Btw hows your battery life on your model? I'm still undecided whether to go with the SD 845 or Exynos 9810.. I had the S9 plus with the 9810 and the battery life wasn't great (3.5hr SOT) with 15-16hrs usage consistently, ended up selling it to my bro ?

I'm looking all over the internet for a website to buy the K20 Pro for a good price ( < 390~400$ ) but I can't find anything.

This is probably/arguably the best store on AliExpress for Xiaomi phones. They may not always be the absolute cheapest, but only by a dollar/euro/pound or so when they are not. What they do have is probably the fastest shipping times and best service, plus for those in the EU they guarantee no extra import costs, providing you use the slight more extensive DHL shipping.
As for any other online store they don't even come close to the price of the AliExpress sellers. Having a look on the likes of Gearbest, Geekbuying and the rest you'll see they are getting on for nearly $100 more.
