Hello.
I've been usimg Rog 3 for almost a month now, and im playing PUBG mobile on 144Hz but I've noticed that i don't have 90fps in game settings .. so i contacted PUBG support over Discord about this issue and they said not all devices are supported for now.. although I've seen a lot of video with rog phone 3 and have this 90fps feature how is that possible. Some of them said u have to root ur device to get it but i don't want to.
BTW im using "ROG Phone 3 globla version 512GB"

As of now only ROG Phone 3 Chinese/Tencent variant have 90fps PUBGMobile nothing in Global.
BTW.. My phone is Global variant also so no 90FPS still waiting. I only use HEX Edit from YT to feel the 90Fps.
PUBG is a Tencent game, and as far as I know there is 90 fps option only is the US and China. So it as nothing to do with the phone but with Tencent game that does not allow some countries and devices to not let the user turn 90 fps option. I have a Tencent game rog phone 3 with a WW and there is no 90 fps option.
Simply use the GFX Tool : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.tsoml.graphicssettings
And you can play at 90 fps with your global version
PUBG will show the 90Fps if only you choose the Smooth Graphic setting. Well, if you already know about this and still dont have the 90Fps option, then I'm sorry.

Thanks for the response
Nope, it heats up, becomes very choppy. Coming from oneplus 6, I know i am spoiled but still, very very disappointed with note 9's PUBG performance. I have to run it on smooth graphics and extreme fps, only to be able to get a decent playable experience
I think Snapdragon version is better for PubG.
However if you want to play PubG on the Exynos variant you wouldn't get the best experience as you will encounter heat up resulting in thermal throttling.
I would go with another phone if you really want to play PubG at max settings. If not then the Note 9 is a great daily
Can somebody test throtting and temperatures in GFXBench (battery test - Manhattan 3.1)?
Would like to know too. From what i've seen in video reviews, people say this phone gets hot.
Would be curious if someone could run the throttling test for 30 minutes
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=skynet.cputhrottlingtest&hl=en_CA
Agreed! I've seen YouTube vids that the Red Magic 3 doesn't really ever throttle at all no matter how long you run it or how hard you push it. Curious if the RG2 holds up to the same?
I had a red magic 3 12gb 256gb model.. and I found it cheap and poor quality speakers vibrate and not at same level as ROG 1. I would avoid in my opinion. You can order cooler from giztop for the 128gb model
I have not tested, but so far in everyday use I've only felt the phone get hot if I am BOTH playing a game and charging the phone back up at the same time. If the phone is at 100% when I'm playing a game, or if I charge the phone without playing a game, the phone doesn't feel warm.
Be careful if you leave it on your bed not to cover it with blanket/pillow while charging. It probably has thermal safeties, but even the pros like Apple and Samsung have exploding batteries these days, so better to play it safe.
my RoG Phone 2 throttled (Frame Drop) at 47 Degree C temperature playing PUBG for 1 game with HDR+Shadow On+Anti Aliasing On graphic setting.
Man, is there any custom kernel setting to removed this throttling :/

Did you already set a game profile for PUBG in the xmode app? You can increase the thermal limit before throttling kicks in by doing so.

I'm pretty sure it's the same on the CN ROM. Just open the Armory Crate app, select your PUBG game and click Game Profiles then scroll down on the right side and there is a section called Temperature Control. Change that from Default to High.

Hmm..it seems i dont have such options to control my temperature at my game profiles..u may refer to the pictures that i attached.
From my experience so far there has been no thermal throttling during the Manhattan test however while playing Vainglory at 120hz for ~2 hours I noticed a bit of temperature hike with no fan at 45°c.. but seems to stay around 118 fps. The fan added dropped me down to about 41°c and 120 fps stayed fairly constant. The "heat" of this phone is mostly due to the fact that the vent on the back pushes the hot air outside the phone so if your hand is near it.... It gets hot. But overall the phone is never unbearable and the face that it is hot outside the phone shows the heatsink/cooler is doing it's job by pushing the hot air out instead of keeping it internally.

There is no setting that removes throttling, since this is hardware related not software related.

That is because you got tencent version and that one does not have same features as the global/elite edition has got.
Of course it is going to get a little hot with all that POWER!!

That is because you got global ROM now. But again temperature setting won't completely remove throttling, it can throttle again anytime.
Cooling is needed to lower temps properly.
hello bro/sis before i say anything sorry for my bad english
have u play Cod M on battle royale mode, i play it on max setting but the fps not stable on 60fps its drop on 50-57 fps at most times, even sometimes its drop on 48-49fps. have you face same problem? im using k20 pro 8/128 with indian global rom 10.35
but with global mi 9t pro rom i have a little better performance on this game bit still not stable on 60 fps its stil drop on 53-60 fps
but i play pubg on hdr/extreme i can get 58/60 fps stable
my question is have u face same fps drop problem? or is because a rom i use or my hardware is broken or maybe the game just very heavy, but if my hardware is broken i still get 374515 score on antutu benchmark even i test it couple times its still get 373469 or above it.
i play cod mobile garena version
thx
Hello everyone,
I've upgraded from OnePlus 7 pro to Mi 11 ultra thinking about it's great specs but even with SD888 i can sense a lag in the game, it's unable to handle Pubg, game lags,
I've tried from smooth to UHD with extreme refresh rate, in OnePlus 7 pro with SD855 i was able to play HD with extreme refresh with no problem.
Anyone knows how to fix it? What is your review on gaming?

My experience in gaming Mobile legends is amazing, I keep going with UHD max graphics and performance and my device handle to beat at least 94% of others, imagine if I drop refresh rate and graphics a little bit.
a quick question, how many games and hours you played on pubg with the device?
for me, the first 2 times I played mobile legends the phone was overheating and device was lagging little bit. but after that, battery is way better, never over heats, and amazing performance. so basically, it is just learning the device power consumption.
in summary, be patient and it will be way better in a day or 2.
may I ask which rom version you doing? hope not .Eu!!
forgot to mention, everytime I factory reset device I face same issue. so it is a thing that you should not worry about. just machine learning.

Hope not eu? Why this?
My eu stable version never lags at all.

If it was Eu, then all I said above does not apply to him. As the experience I shared was of stock rom. And I had bad experience with EU rom specially gaming and ram management. I totally agree with you that it never lags and sooooooo smooth, but other things are also important.
Thank you @hassanaliyeh , I'm on global miui 12.5.2.0 , I don't play games a lot, it was just for a hour. I'll try it again today.
I tried some GFX fix tools but it didn't worked.

Hello all,
As some of you already mentioned in some other threads, since the middle of ColorOS 12 updates the 3D gaming performance took a big hit. At least one my phone. So I waited for ColorsOS 13 update to see if it brings any changes. To my surprise the 3D performance got even more worse. For example in Diablo Immortal on lowest settings I get 10-30 FPS max. Are others experiencing the same? Or could it be that my phone is some sort of broken?
Surprisingly I got "normal" results in 3dmark and antutu. So I really dont know what could cause this.
I appreciate any contribution or feedback to this topic.
Thanks in advance!

I hate it. How can games lag on such powerful hardware. But those games that use the Vulkan engine work well, I can play PUBG New State 90 fps without frame drops and if I turn on OpenGL I get 30 fps on the minimum graphics. Call of Duty, which also works on Vulcan, also runs without problems. Diablo works on OpenGL without the ability to change to Vulcan, this is the problem.
OK so at least you have someway identified the problem. Are there no options out there to modify oder alternate the way OpenGL is used?
The problem is that we dont have the ability to downgrade and see if problems persist.
It's really a shame that after almost 2 years we still dont have the ability to unlock bootloader nor root the device.
