Is anyone able to stream in HD on amazon prime video?
I have an unlocked and rooted mi 9t pro global (widevine L1, miui 12) and I'm not able to.
I can stream netflix in HD tho.

Thank you. It worked.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-change-device-model-extra-step-t3559040 I was following this guide, but it seems to not apply entirely to android pie. There's no "ro.product.model", you have to add it yourself at the bottom of build.prop. It wasn't necessary to clear Prime Video data, and it wasn't necessary to do the adb shell steps.
So, just add "ro.product.model=Redmi K20 Pro" at the bottom of build.prop, restart your phone and you'll have prime video in HD.
btw, i also edited "ro.product.system.model=Redmi K20 Pro". I don't know if it's necessary.

Hey, I just can't make it work. With that guide I can't change the name of the device, but I added that line into build.prop and in settings I moddified the name to Redmi K20 Pro. In ADB with the command
HTML:
adb shell settings get global device_name
I can see that now the name is Redmi K20 Pro instead Mi 9T Pro, but in Prime Video, even clearing Prime Video data, it stills doesn't work in HD. Do you know why?

First things first: what's your widevine? Download drm info and see it. Here's mine. You must be L1.
Then, I downloaded BuildProp Editor. I changed this. Then I added this at the bottom.
Restarted the phone.
To see if it really worked, go to Settings> About phone> All specs. "Device model" should be now "Redmi K20 Pro". Good luck, that's all I did. (I'm on miui 12)

Well, I did all that steps, but in Settings I still read Mi 9T Pro and Prime Video in the stream quality, the best is for 0,46GB/s, saddly. Later I'll try again the guide to change the name with ADB, but it gives me an error with the command to change the name

I'm in Havoc 3.7 and yes, I'm rooted whit Magisk.
I've seen that in settings I can edit the name of the device manually, and in the first screenshot you can see it says Redmi K20 Pro (if I change that, in ADB will show the other name y chose), but then in Model & Hardware it stills appear as Mi 9T ProView attachment 5082747View attachment 5082749

I think it's because you are using custom rom.

But does this make any sense? Because the method indicated isn't for Xiaomi or MIUI devices, it should work on any device. I'm not changing the OS only for Prime Video, but I would like watching full quality content if I want (on a device that should be certificated by Amazon and with Widevine L1)

I haven't tried it yet, because it says that's for MIUI 11 o MIUI 12 and I want to make a backup before trying. Maybe tomorrow on Saturday hehe
my Xiaomi mi 9 lost the l1 drm and switched to l3, without having changed anything, the drm have changed by itself. is there a way to go back to drm l1?
I'm on latest weekly of Xiaomi.eu .l 12.6 21.5.2
Hi, I know that your question is a little bit old, but now you can recover widevine L1 in the latest Xiaomi.eu beta

thank you, in fact it is already from 21.6.2 that they renewed the certificate, I add that for those who have Xiaomi there is a magisk module to activate Amazon prime hd
My certificate Widevine L1 is missing, how can i possibly want to download it. Currently I'm using Xiaomi Mi 9 in Global ROM.
