Hi all,
FIrst of all, thanks a taking out time and responding to my questions, highly appreciate it. I have a new Rog phone 3 (Android 10) that I have successfully unlocked and rooted, with Magisk 21.1 installed (manager 8.0.3). I am trying to get edxposed framework up and running.
1. I tried installing Riru v 22.0. I rebooted twice as suggested in some forums.
2. I then tried installing edxposed (Both yahfa and ) 4563 when I install it says the following
! Requirement module 'Riru - Core' is not installed
! Installation failed.
This is driving my crazy because I have installed Riru. Can anyone help me out as to what I am doing wrong. I even tried downloading the files from GIthub tried to install from storage. Same error

Try using Riru v21.3 instead of v22.0. Modules using Riru (including EdXposed) need to be updated to support the new changes in v22.0
Thanks a lot! That worked. I missed this point in the release notes! Much appreciated
Exactly suffering the same problem in ed exposed but the solution posted by the respected moderated works ! Just downgrade riru core to version 21.3

Hello everyone,
I have a problem getting Xposed to work on my OnePlus 5.
I have magisk installed and installed the Systemless Xposed SDK 25 V88.0.
My phone is running Android 7.1
SELinux: Enforcing.
The installer says the framework is correctly installed and does not give me any errors.
However, when I install a Xposed module and enable it, all modules give me a error that the module is not activated. Even when I rebooted several times after enabeling the module.
The Xposed framework module in magisk is also activated.
I have reinstalled the framework multiple times, tried different versions, cleaned cache/dalvilk and done a factory reset.
Can someone help me?
I'm new to the forums so correct me if I posted in the wrong section etc. I'm desperate..
Thanks in advance.
Try to use the SolarWarez one for now. I used the official 88 for Nougat by Rovo but it seems that when the official one initiates, the BOOT_STATE couldn't start for me on my Mi5s Plus.

Hi everone,
After having my Samsung Galaxy S9+ for a while and been on team iPhone before that, I've been out the custom rom area. After a a couple week of considering it, I decided that today was the day.
What did i do?
-I followed HighOnAndroid written tutorial of flashing my S9+ using TWRP and Magisk. (I don't know if linking the website is okay, so I didn't.)
-Flashed Resurrection Rom and wanted to start it, which didn't go well (no Gapps).
-Installed Gapps Aroma, but didn't work so good, as i could not log into Google and got Maps/Calender/Photos errors.
-Booted into Recovery-->Wiped everything-->Installed RR-rom again-->Installed MindTheGapp.
This worked pretty good. I could login and stuff so i was happy about it. But not that I want to USE my rooted phone to the max, I couldn't find Magisk anywhere. There is no Magisk anything. What I still do have is TWRP Recovery.
Also when I checked via a root-check-app, it said that my phone isn't rooted... I do have RR-rom which is working perfectly.
Guys, WTF??
Can someone please tell me what I should do to get 'rooted' again.
Waiting for someone to help me get out of this hell. (Been trying to flash/root properly for hours. Just when I thought I was in the clear.... )
Thank you in advance.
Magisk has its own root built in so you just need to flash magisk

You wiped it when you flashed resurrection. Just flash magisk 18 zip in TWRP if you want root. Most ROMs do not come pre rooted these days because some people need safetynet to pass no matter what.
Magisk was in your original system, you wiped it and installed a new system (resurrection).

First, what Android version is the ROM you installed? If it's Android pie, xposed does not work on it. it doesn't matter what version of Android you were previously on before you flashed the ROM, the ROM could be a different version.
If it's Oreo or lower and,
if you are installing Xposed through magisk you also have to get the Xposed installer APK for magisk. The regular Xposed installer APK will not work.
In magisk manager in the downloads section tap Xposed SDK (?) and read the file that pops up it will have a link to the proper xposed installer APK.
Pick the Xposed SDK version that your device requires.
8.1 SDK 27
8.0 SDK 26
7.1.x SDK 25
Etc....

Thank you for replying.
My rom is on android 8.0
I installed Xposed via Magisk download section.
"XPOSED FRAMEWORK"
But when I opened it, it said my andoid version was not supported for sdk xxx. I can find that Xposed Framework (sdk xxx). Should i delete current version and install Framework (sdk xxx)?

I would. I always use the specific one rather than the unity package. Also make sure to get the Xposed app from the module description. The link will take you to the XDA thread containing the APK.
Edit: this thread. Xposed magisk APK 3.1.5

I just clicked on that link, it works. Third file in list is the APK. Get the framework from the magisk manager download section, get the APK from that thread.

Hello everyone,
I tried to install EdXposed on my Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact (I want install XPrivacyLUA) following this tutorial and it failed. I successfully installed Riru Core from Magisk, but after installing EdXposed, I get a bootloop
I used : magisk-EdXposed-SandHook-v0.4.6.0_beta.4471.-release.zip and i didn't try magisk-EdXposed-YAHFA-v0.4.6.0_beta.4471.-release.zip
Do you have any idea about this problem please ? Some of you succeeded to install EdXposed on your XZC2 ?
Thanks for the feed back !
I tried both https://github.com/ElderDrivers/EdXposed/releases and magisk-EdXposed-YAHFA-v0.4.6.0_beta.4471.-release.zip but no luck get bootloop and flash my xz2 again

I asked as well on this thread, and I get this answer from @Ænimal
He has suggested me to try a newer version of EdXposed. Unfortunately, I can't test it right now cause I don't have my Linux PC with me
EDIT : I manage to get EdXposed working and XPrivacyLua. You can close this post, thanks.
hi, i just flashed my xiaomi mix phone with Magisk 20.4. everything is new but the safetynet checks are failing.
i have previously tried on riru and edxposed. the checks say YES but i still cannot load pokemon go. i think those fixes are fake and not working, Google seems to be able to detect it still.
Can anyone help?
thanks.

Having the exact same issue with my Mix 3. Just flashed a few moments ago. Been looking at the other threads and it seems that no fix works as of now. Hoping that it isn't permanent as Google is cracking down on unlocked bootloaders.
Try to hide what you want via magisk hide.
Sorry, but that is not helpful. Same thing here. Device passed SafetyNet on 20.3. After upgrade to 20.4 it fails. What can I do to figure out what changed?
please refer here to set it up in your phone.
Be notice: If you don't use edxposed, just skip it. If you do, please remember to install canary version of edxposed in Edxposed manager !

Thank you! You were right, this was not caused by the Magisk upgrade, but by EdXposed. After upgrading to Canary version SafetyNet passes again.
I'd also like to add (in case someone stumbles across this thread looking for answers) that Magisk v20.4+ has MagiskHide disabled by default. On a fresh install you will have to enable it before Hide will be able to do it's thing.
Hi everyone!
It's been about a year and a half since I first installed Magisk on my phone with TWRP and considering that I now noticed I'm getting SafenityNet API error, I wanted to update my Magisk to the latest version and install the Universal SafetyNet module as well to fix this issue.
I just have some questions regarding this:
I'm running Magisk Manager 7.5.1 & Magisk 20.4 repacked and with Magisk Hide, how can I update from Magisk 20.4 to Magisk 23? My phone shows 22.1 as the latest.
Before updating do I need to restore Magisk Manager to the original package and app names?
Will updating Magisk affect my already installed Modules or will they stay in effect?
I'm using a Xiaomi with Android 9 Pie and MIUI Global 11.0.5.0
Thanks in advance.

Maybe let Magisk Manager take you to v22.1, then you'll be one step away from v23.0 and hopefully at some point it becomes available. If upgrading to v22.1 succeeds you'll end up with one app that is Magisk SU and the manager all in one. I mention this in case you're wondering why Magisk Manager disappeared.
I don't understand what you mean about restoring Magisk Manager "to the original package and app names" but your modules should still work after upgrading. Worst case would be a module that didn't keep up with Magisk and isn't supported anymore.

Thanks to both of you for the clarifications.
I will unhide/restore the manager and will install 22 before going onward to 23.
