Just shut up please. Tux has a reallife and i dont think that he wants to invest all his time in this project he will never gain money with.
Have you ever tried to code such a big project?
Have you ever donated or even TRIED to help him coding?
Its his decision when he works for that project and how much time he wants to invest.
Ok guys, enough of the language. This is a family site for all ages, so keep your language in check and childish behaviour for the playground.
It was me personally who closed tuxhero's thread due to so much useless posts like these, and by his request.
Tux is indeed still working on linux and when he has finsihed he will publish news about it.
End of story, grow up

jcsullins - The guy who made all of this possible by creating moboot, and he created kernel patches that fix the weird-ass framebuffer glitches, and he made the userspace touchscreen driver. This guy is a f**king GENIUS!

crimsonredmk - showed me the Arch Linux documentation for the TP, and wrote the original instructions for getting Arch Linux on the TP, which I have taken and adapted.
The CyanogenMod Team - For creating CM7, and getting it working on the TouchPad.
perpe - made a working rootfs to get it booting while I was busy

Just one thing to say - Nice!
Looking forward to some updates!
Thanks! This is something I have been waiting for.
Sent from my very "non-stock" TP.
New post on blog with a quick explanation of how moboot works, for those interested.
Looking for a kernel dev right now to assist in merging the patches from 2 kernels into the Ubuntu ARM kernel.

Nice project. I hope this is gonna rock.
I'll ask someone who's really a brain about help - will inform you about that.
Good job pickung up the project so far.

Guys, the OP knows how to travel through time. In his blog, he writes
Hi,
If you’ve come here, it’s probably because I linked you, you are looking for updates on my port of Ubuntu for the TouchPad, or you’re a creepy stalker. Anyhoo, have a look around, and stick around for updates

I'm a bit obtuse sometimes
you guys rock!
any idea on release?
The first rule of ROM is do not ask for ETA's.
I've been trying to track down some info and having talked to the ROM developer, he just got Wifi to work perfectly. Need to talk to him again and see what is next on our list to do, and then see what info I can track down for him to help him out.
Ditto, What else is on the To-Do list, I'd like to help as well.
He is currently working on sound and I'm trying to track down information in regard to the sound drivers.
Does DJ_Steve post his updates anyplace? Like on a forum or Twitter?
@DMonsterProd
And as for the website...you'll have to figure that out.
Im getting excited just thinking about it
Come on dude, release some beta please
We are currently working on some sound and video issues right now based off of the Transformer Prime kernel. We are (sorta) in talks with a guy from Nvidia who is their kernel alsa programmer.
hollar if y'all need another dev... it's getting a little old only hacking away at master repo and the emulator
I'll let him know and see if he wants to let someone (with more expierence) in.
Thank You.
So there is hope for the Dell Streak 7. Truthfully, "I was about to toss mine."
We are really waiting for some new info and new ideas. Nvidia is suppose to be releasing ICS builds for their dev boards sometime early next year, and that would help greatly.
Currently we are trying to build the latest kernel available but its going to be a long road, just to keep us busy.
can you tell us in a uniformed list of what is working and is not, please ?

These type of responses are 'what happened to xda'. This forum was a place to help and support users. Devs would get exposure, release apps and software without need for playstore. Users would provide feedback as testers and a few would pay or donate. It's become a place for snarky responses to questions that may be innocent. Everyone starts somewhere, no question is wrong, it's just a question.

Well said.
Op, just noticed on the xda news feed that a variety of devs have been sent devices specifically to work on custom roms. So good news ahead for you.
I'm on the Zenfone 7 Pro and hope there's a better chance they can be as easy to make run on this device

Slightly off topic but heard that the Havocos dev has a zenfone 7 Pro, which could be good news for both devices perhaps!
Hi,
@derf elot and I bought a ZenFone 8 and started a LineageOS bring up.

As a decade long Cyanogen+LineageOS user, thank you for your work. I hope I will be able to switch to a Custom ROM on this device in the near future.
You think we will have also stock camera?

Haha ... have a look at https://github.com/whatawurst/android_kernel_asus_sm8350 .... there seem to have been some development here.
Guys relax. No ETAs please. The device is brand spanking new and only just released in some major markets, so be patient. Developers owe nothing and are doing us a favour so let them work at their own pace.
The guys who are working on this have a solid track record with the S10 series as well, so don't worry.
Wishlist, HOPEFULLY hehehe
1) MicroG spoofing support (Imperative)
2) Wireguard support (Imperative)
3) Stock Camera (Splendid if there)
