Battery Charging icon instead of fastboot logo - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Questions & Answers

Every time i reboot for a sec i see the battery logo and after it boots normally, and during bootlader mode instead of fastboot image i see it for a sec and then the battery image again, faulty hardware or software?

It might be a harmless bug in the software, in my opinion. I have no objective proof for that, though I do believe it is nothing to be worried about. I also have this issue, but it is much of a rare occurrence.

You can rename the thread title to SOLVED.
This is interesting though. If that's the case it is quite possible mine is faulty too. May I know how did you solve? Did you went to customer service?

Hi,
your answer is here!. Seems to be a hardware short circuit.
maybe putting your open device close to a warm source to dry it will give you 15.031969% to save it...
Else, I fear you need Samsung service..
I don't mean to be rude but why did you open a thread here on XDA about this?
This site is for mobile phone/tablet development.
You have bought a faulty device, it happens.
You need to take it back for a replacement, simple.
I hope you get it sorted! It's never nice buying something and it not working properly.

i believe it got something to do with calibration or something related to software
as phone was flashed earlier and it might be something to do with flashing
i was thinking of writing NV calibration data from another phone to see if that may help, but thought of getting more ideas first.
WBR
Oh right, fair enough then. I thought it was brand new and you'd just taken it out of the box.

as good as new, only a few days used, sending it back would be costly
so i thought to get some ideas if it could be calibration data or something, as i have already flashed it but it didn't yield any result..

Back Button Stops Working

Hi
Recently bought the ONE. Sometimes my back button stops responding completely for a while. if i try to press the home button at that time, it works. this happens rarely.
My device is just a few days old so i can easily get it replaced.
I wanted to know if this is a software issue or a hardware issue? If software then i guess it can be easily solved by a ROM flash. Else i should quickly have my device replaced.
Please share your experiences/ views on similar defects.

Have you faced/ seen similar problems? Are you sure that this is not a software problem? My device is so perfect otherwise (no hardware defects) that i am scared to get in to the replacement process and end up with a device with another defect and then replace that again..
I just want to be really sure that this is a hardware problem and it can only be solved by getting it replaced.

If your phone is rooted, then they will not replace it.
So go replace it, safest and best option, you got nothing to lose.
you can always flash a rom after you get a working device.

Ok, some questions, On the box of your phone is write "Made in Brazil"? If you put your phone on a flat surface, wait 30 sec and try to scroll a page it will fail? When you are playing a game and the phone is hot your touch fails? If yes you have a hardware problem, ask for a replacement, i had to change my phone 3 times until find a working one, my other 2 Z1 was made in Brazil, now the working one is made in China, some people with the China one have this problem too, but is rare. The Brazilian version is having an assembly problem, causing bad contact, if this is your case change the phone.

Ok, make a try with games and see if the problem will appears, i recommend you to do the following, pick a camera and record the problem when it appears, then take to store and change the phone, BUT before you go out test if the problem will come on the new phone, that was what i did, i stayed 3 hour inside the store testing
@MakaMika Sorry to say but you can join us here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2540950
Anyway, still some chance to fix this touch screen problems with a software, a good new FW which we wait for it but I will not wait until that and I will send the phone back to the store when you bought it a tell them to fix it or replace with a new device, like I did. The phone still under warranty and should be issues free and it's not so you have the rights to send it back. Sony Service will decide if repair or replace.
3 hours???LOOL I guess i ll try the gaming test, what game do you recomand to heat up the phone quickly?

This hardware issues can be managed via software that is why we wait for that FW. BTW we are not sure when and how and if it's hardware or software related but new FW should definitely help. They are aware about this issues and they point the FW in that way to fix it.

Me too. I try to clarified, Sony never confirmed it's a hardware problem of they touch screen. People has different Touch Screen issues, someone when touch the aluminium frame the Touch Screen start working well again, someone else don't have that but have problem scrolling pages or opening the phone with pattern even if they touch the aluminium frame or not. So here is the confusion, who have to touch the aluminium frame to let working the Touch Screen saying it's a hardware related (kind of wrong phone sealing) and others who have the problem even when touching the aluminium frame or not saying it's a software related. Many said also after the update to 4.3 the touch screen get worse, like mine. Now do you understand the confusion? Many send the phones back via warranty, many waiting for a FW pointed to fix this issues. Developers are aware about this Touch Screen problem so they try to fix it, even if seems hardware related, with the release of the new updated FW .114, .124 or 136, who know?
Yes,I get you.mine works well when touching the aluminum frame.I guess after all i should return it,didnt even enjoy the few days of having it
Are you sure that a hardware problem can be solved with software update? I mean, i know that software can turn around some issues, but this is not certain

Exactly, we don't know this yet. We have to wait for a new FW pointed to fix this problem. If they do it's a software issue.

[Q] A Captivate with Cyanogenmod that doesn't have sound.

I'm not entirely sure if this is an issue with my hardware or software which is why I'm asking where I should look (or start a thread) first. I've had sound before but now there is nothing, not even crackling or popping. I'm using Cyanogenmod 11 on a Samsung Captivate. I read a thread about loosening a screw near the speaker and tried that (along with a not-so-deep tear-down), but still not a peep (or beep). Something I should mention is that headphones DO work when they're plugged in. Additionally I've done some scouring of the Internet for a fix but I can't find any problems truly similar to mine.
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. It seems to me like you have a hardware failure. Which version of the Captivate do you have? Unbranded or AT&T?
Hi to you too
Thank you for replying. I believe it is the at&t version, although I'll admit I wasn't aware there was a Captivate that wasn't an at&t version. That would be found in the info part of the phone as the model number right?

That's right, and most at&t phones actually have the at&t logo somewhere on the phone, as well as the at&t logo during the boot animation. If it has either of those we can safely assume that is the at&t model, otherwise please let me know what the model number is.

Wow, I can't believe I didn't notice it at the top of the phone, yes it is an at&t model.

Thanks for the extra information. I'm going to have this thread moved to the AT&T Captivate q&a section here:
Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
That way it'll reach the people who are most experienced with your device, so if it is a common bug they should be able to walk you through it. It sounds hardware related to me but lets see what the Captivate experts say.
Good luck!

It does sound like hardware. Have you tried slightly pushing on the speaker? I tends to come loose.
If you have any flashing experience, you can try flashing stock to completely rule out software issue but since the aux works, I'm pretty sure it's hardware.
I have tried pushing on the speaker. The only reason I was thinking it might be a software issue is because I changed some of the settings in what I believe is called dsp. Before I flash it back to the stock software (firmware?) is there any other troubleshooting I could try? Putting Cyanogenmod on it was somewhat of a process and overall I like it. And if it is a hardware problem how much would it cost to fix (not that I have any money to do so anyway )? And before I end this reply, thank you for your help.

You could always flash CM over and that would rule out the system file possibility.
Was the problem there before flashing CM? And I have a neat little guide on how to flash in my "most thanked" posts if you need it to get back to CM after flashing stock.

I actually don't remember if the problem was there or not as I flashed CM on it pretty much as soon as I got it. Can I just start from the "install from zip" process to reflash CM on it? In the meantime I'll see if I can do that without there being any potential problems with bricking the phone etc. And thank you for being patient with me .

Yeah, just flash the ROM zip and the Gapps over your current one. It's called a "dirty flash" and will only wipe your system settings.
I was celebrating St. Patrick's day which is why I haven't replied sooner, apologies. Anyway, I will do that, although I learned from the previous owner that the sound was going out so now I'm 99% positive that it's the hardware. Is it okay for me to mention that replacement speakers appear to be relatively cheap (and possibly easy to install)? And one last question, for the future, is it more polite to leave the quote in the reply rather than take it out?

You should keep the quote, it notices the user you quote and that way, he can reply faster (me in this case).
And yeah speaker replacement is definitely an option. You should be able to find a quick video guide on youtube, I believe it's fairly easy to do.

I put an older CM version (that was under the stable category) on to see if it was the software and I checked with the previous owner to see if the sound was going out (it was). There still isn't any sound so it's definitely the hardware. Now the question is; do I spend money to replace the speaker on an old phone that I don't really need?
That'd probably be a different thread though.
Thank you for your help!

percentage battery problem after uptade 6.0.1

Hello,
I have a problem with my battery percentage since the MAJ 6.0.1.
My 6 nexus is rooted, so I flashed manually system.img and new radio from the Factory Image.
After restart phone, My Nexus indicates 3000/4000% battery.
In recovery I have the right battery.
Do you know how to solve the problem?
Phone discharged thoroughly but still the same problem.
Sorry, I can not put outside link to image.
It hasn't happened to anyone ever. Ever. So searching the forums for "battery percent" will not give any results, I assure you.
i guess you dont first search for your issues solution? well, the same question gets posted on xda daily, id suggest you search. anyways, its a bug. ignore it, it will probably get fixed next update.
I cannot ignore it because I never know level of my battery
My Nexus turns off without warning me : finally, discharged battery !
Thanks
