Bought on eBay with seal broken from a trusted seller with 100% 1057 score. The camera does not seem to even come close to the examples seen on online reviews. (Photo pro was taken on auto)

Hey everyone,
Is someone able to speak to the quality of the front camera on these? I have the HD 8, the front camera is advertised as "HD" (probably 2 MP) and performs surprisingly well.
I'm curious about the quality of the front camera on the 7. It's advertised as VGA, so probably .3 MP. I've used some of the low end Dragon Touch tablets with .3 MP front cameras and the quality is *terrible*, it easily took 5+ seconds to focus on anything. But part of that could be the camera app, the manufacturer of the sensor itself or something else to do with the quality of the hardware.
At $150, the HD 8 isn't prohibitively expensive, but it would be nice to get away with the $50 7 instead. The main functionality I'm looking for is whether it's able to focus in and scan a QR code (version 2 density) quickly.
Thanks!
Just tried it. The front camera takes the photo fast enough, but the image is very smudgy and a bit too high contrast. It's VGA. It would be ok for video chat in a well lit environment but not for much else. If you're one of those 'selfie' types, you'll want a different camera.
The 2mp camera on the back seems to be a bit better, but then it should be. Needs to be changed to 4:3 to use the full sensor, as it defaults to 16:9. The HDR mode improves picture quality by a fair margin. Especially unintentionally overexposed ones. As with all these cheapo cameras you will have to hold the whole device still to get a clear shot.
Neither camera is anything special and I'd say both are below average. The 1.9mp camera in my Samsung Gear smartwatch is leaps and bounds above the image quality of this Asus Fire tablet and it's 2 years older with a similar lens size.
The app for the camera does the job but is very basic with few options to change.

Hi
I most recently purchased a Xiaomi Mi 8 a couple of weeks back and today was the day I tested out the rear camera flash at Night.
The colors seem to be too washed out when using flash outside in the dark and it surely cannot be this bad.
I have tried to reset camera settings in the native camera application and tested open camera out with the same result
Camera without Flash
My pictures with flash are the same. Any ideas what is the problem?
I found where was the problem. I remove camera lens glass protector and everything is ok now
Had the same problem but after an update it got better but still got a light tint. Camera lens protector does not cover the flash.
Had the exact same problem after installing what the seller called "tempered glass camera lens protector".
I've wasted about $2 + $1 for shipping for buying this useless item. Just don't install any protector for your camera lens, it will messed up the flash light.
Hi, newbie here.
Im using Xperia 5 II actually but since theres so few of them out there yet so i think it should be better to ask right here since the camera is almost identical.
I'm kinda into taking long exposure shots with smartphones so the ability of the new Xperias taking up to 30 seconds of exposure with all 3 lenses really caught me, so i bought the new 5 II. It's perfectly fine taking long exposure using ultra wide lens with 0 issue but things get weird using primary and telephoto lenses, ois starts shifting/drifting by itself and it makes any exposure more than 5 seconds blurry and unusable. Does anyone have the same issue with your 1 II?
No issues with my 1 II. I use a cheap tripod I got on Amazon - the ubeesize TR50.
As with my proper camera, turn off any stabilisation on a tripod.
Hi guys, I wanna purchase the Huawei p30 Pro as I listened too much regarding to its camera specification, what's about your experience regarding these mobile phone in terms of Camera or you wanna suggest other mobile in the same range? jbbattery portugal
Yes, it has a good camera. Huawei p30 pro comes with the triple rear camera setup which includes 40-megapixel wide angle lens, 20-megapixel Ultra Wide Angle lens, and 8-megapixel telephoto. P30 pro has a 32-megapixel front camera which gives Ultra HD clear selfie photos. It has a 5x optical zoom lens.
Thanks @khotabutta35 for your review. Really Appreciated your time.
Hi,
It seems I have a very peculiar problem at hand as there is absolutely no info about it anywhere. I happened to drop my Mi 11 Ultra from about 6 feet height and it landed with a thud with the display facing down. Luckily the display survived. No crack, no damage nothing but then came the shocker. Somehow the rear display has cracked. The glass protecting the camera lenses and the rear display itself is fine but the rear display has a few cracks and it has become dead.
I quickly checked the rest of the phone, everything's just fine. Now I did not think that replacing the rear view display would be such a big problem but when I contacted Mi Customer care via Online chat, they said that the rear display can't be replaced in India!
I saw a couple of teardown videos of the Mi 11 Ultra and it seems that the display is molded/sealed or embedded into the ceramic back. So technically it seems to look like as if replacing the ceramic back means the rear display will by default come with it.
Can anyone please confirm this? Mi Customer Care seems to be useless. Need your input guys. I will be really grateful. Thanks!
