You can use a FM transmitter, but it's not that great in Belgium (overwhelmed FM frequencies).
Or get a car with USB port
Sometimes, radios have an 3.5 AUX input at the back.. I know mine doesn't, and I 'd need to get some expensive equipment for my phone to simulate presence of a CD tray and be able to output through radio.
You can use bluetooth if your car supports it. You wont be able to use MIUI or CM7 then though.
I got a jack in and a usb on radio, but looking for a dock that fits in my din slot (in guess I need to build one myself, does someone know one to begin from?
I have a car with 2din, in the top is my radio, in the lower one I want to place the phone in a "dock" (in landscape)
Connecting the phone is no problem
Or i want to fit the phone in the 2 din and remove the radio, and use the phone as radio, like in the YouTube video
Hope you understand me, my English is not that good

This sounds a really good idea. Haven't seen a dock like you mention, but I sure would be interested if one was made.

just tested but the phone dont fit in 1din wil try someting els, the moment i found someting , i wil post it here , with pics
You can't replace headunit just like that, because it is needed to amplify weak headphone level sound output, if nothing else.
Using our phone for that is PitA. Two cables, two connectors and no dock to replace that mess. You'll be better off with iPhone (did I say that?!) or some older HTC which had extUSB connector with USB, sound and mic all in one. Now, with microUSB, forget it : (

Super new here, I tried searching for my problem but I may just be blind. Thanks in advance for taking the time to help out.
I've got an 06' BMW with a witson android head unit.
The issue I'm having is Bluetooth music audio quality. Oddly enough Bluetooth calling isn't a problem. The upper range of sound is distorting. Don't know if this makes a difference or not, it's connecting to an iphone *hides under table. If I listen to the radio or to a cd (like it's 1997 or something) I don't hear the issue.
I've gone into the factory settings, and adjusted the BT volume up and down and found no change. I've changed all of the volume options, and found no change. I've tried changing the amplifier settings as well and have found no change.
MCU version MCTB-KYD-V2.77
Android version 4.4.4_27082015
Kernel version 3.0.36+

Build number rk3066-eng4.4.4

Thanks again for looking

Have you tried factory settings, and turning down BT master volume. Mine was set well above the others, which could cause issues when in higher volume ranges.
Yes, in fact I was super excited when I searched and found the factory settings code, and that the bt adjustment was in there. It was set to +18 I've since set it to 0 and saw no improvement.
I guess my question is this
Clearly, a setting isn't going to fix this, should I just install a new Bluetooth app, or is the Bluetooth app essential to the operating system and I should just install a new operating system??
HI
I have erisin 2046 and my bluetooth music is scratching hard.. quality is very bad
set the master volume down already in factorysettings (126) but nothing changed.
Sounds like a firmware update is required... maybe to android 5.1? If only people answered more often about doing them... (I have no idea how)
I have two units (MTCB KLD, MTCD KGL) and an old clarion HU with bluetooth.
This problem exists all three units. It's not a firmware problem, problably MCU related issue.
I was digging many forums about this, but I cannot find solution.
I have a MTCD unit which is functioning well but the BT streaming quality is quiet bad.
It's quiet easy to do an A and B comparison with our android units so it will be obvious but if you didn't know, you'd think it's ok.
I just think bluetooth streaming quality is generally bad if you don't use APTX
probably there is a problem with smartphone. When I using android one, there is no distorting in upper range. However, when I use iPhone SE, it's hard to hear distorting sound and quality is really bad.
I have the same problem. Very bad sounding, upper range is distorted. I've tried 3rd party Bluetooth apps, but it doesn't recognize the unit as having Bluetooth. Probably cause the Bluetooth chip is in the MCU, and is not actually part of the android software. That's my guess.
Does anyone know if a Bluetooth dongle to the USB will work? I have a spare one laying around.

The bluetooth module connected to the MCU.
The MCU provide the Bluetooth audio stream to the Android OS.
The Bluetooth app can control the BT module through the MCU.
So there isn't direct link between the android OS and the bluetooth module.
Sorry my bad english..

Yeah that's what I was trying to say, maybe we can switch out the Bluetooth module?

I tried, didn't work. I used a usb bluetooth dongle from my pc. Works on the pc, not on the unit. Maybe you will have better luck. Mine still sounds like garbage.
Here the same Problem! Very, very Bad.
Anyone had any luck with this topic? very annoying.
i have this problem on my MTCE XRC unit.

Audio streaming over Bluetooth App from my iPhone (say from Pandora) is noticeably worse quality than using an app on the HU (say, Pandora App on HU). Do not have this problem streaming to other HUs (like the one built into the Prius) or my previous GTA Kit.
Hi all,
First: I used the search function, but I couldn't find a solution. So if there is one, just post the link to the topic.
And now my problem/idea: I have car that comes with a radio which supports Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Unfrotunately, it doesn't support DAB+. I was looking now for a solution to add DAB+ without any additional (visible) screen or remote control. There are some but they mostly are not really working properly.
So I had the idea to add DAB+ by Android Auto. Is there some hardware to do that (if possible without pressing 10 buttons every time I turn on the car/radio)?
Theoretical it should be:
- a USB-dongle (also powered by this)
- on which a Android system is running
- which starts DAB automaticaly
- has the hardware to receive DAB+ signals
- just have to be plugged into the USB-Port of the car
Is there something like that? If not, is it possible of did I forget something which prohibits this idea? How could this be built and what would be needed?
Thanks for your ideas/links/whatever...

A late but working solution...
USB-Stick (working fine with Android)
Thread for working software for this device. --> latest greatest one
Hi Rigattoni,
Thank you for your reply.
If I understand it correct, the stick is only the DAB-receiver and not the "head unit" on which the android system is running? Or can I make Android running directly on this stick?
Hello guys! I have a little problem, because I reset to factory settings and I don't have backlights in keys and I don't know what take settings for canbus, on Ford Mondeo(simple) and other don't work, I can't use control keys in wheel. How I take option "NO" on canbus setting I can use keys in wheel. What is good for settings on canbus? Maybe something I wrong connect? I read something about key1 and key2 cable, but I don't know... Cheers.
Isudar Ford Android 8.0, 4GB RAM, Octa-Core.

It's fine now.
I have an 2006 Ford Focus with steering control and an A-Sure 8.0 HU. I buy this HU because the descripton was, that the radio was with built in can bus modul and that wasnt true. The steering control has two extra wire für swc and has nothing to do with Can bus. In my car the swc wire are pin 6 and 8 in the B section of the quadlock (white/black and brown/yellow). On my radio it was cable SWC2 and GND.
I have a mondeo with Ford convers+ display between indicators cluster.
With the radio app, the drawing is shown on the convers with the frequency. With dvd the cd and track 1 is visualized on the convers. If active the music app (always original like the ones written before) the aux image on the convers is displayed. With any non-original app, radio, music etc. the information in the convers does not work, as if the original radio was turned off. Someone has modified something to make the aux function appear on the convers, because with off function it looks very bad. I have radio eonon Ga8161 7.1 (KLD px3)
Hi everyone, I don't know if I can share it here but I have a problem with my new Android radio.
First, radio works perfectly. I connected it so that it only works on contact. So key out is also radio off.
The problem is as follows: I open the doors and sit in the car. Put the car on contact and radio does NOT respond. Key out, doors locked. I wait until all the lights on the dashboard are off. I open the doors again with the remote control and put it on contact. Radio works perfect!!
I have never seen or heard something like this. Does anyone have experience with this? What is the reason for this? I still have another 12v cable that probably comes directly from the battery but I want to keep it original. If it is not possible otherwise, I have to use it.
My car is VW Passat 1.9 TDI from 2007.
Thank you all!!
Kindly regards,
Yusuf
What is headunit, OEM or Chinese aftermarket? What does seller suggest when contacted for support and has that been tried.
If chinese after market, wrong forum but post details from Android system information including MCU for post to be moved to appropriate forum.
Take the radio out and measure if you have 12V on the wire as soon as you put the car key to ignition.
By this you can check if it is a car problem or a headunit problem.
