HI everyone, been reading th eforum for a while now, and the questions if car kits keeps comming up.
I managed to find one today online, looks ok, but needs professional installation.
here is the link ( and no, before you ask, I am nothing to do with the company, just came across it while looking for accessories for my new XDA)

hope it's good!
Thanks

Product not found!
Sorry about that, if you look under O2 in the same page you will see it. Ever so sorry about that.
damn links!!
This is the O2 xda car kit
I ordered the kit from directmobileaccesories.com and it arrived yesterday, it is an O2 boxed xda car kit.
Everything works fine - except - I removed my old Nokia 9110 car kit which had a radio mute kit that feeds the phone through the car speakers, and tried to connect the radio mute from the O2 kit to the radio mute lead used by the Nokia car kit. When I place the xda in the cradle it immediately cuts over from the radio to the phone, even before the phone part of the xda is activated.
I have a radio mute on the steering console so I have temporarily disconnected the mute lead and fitted the speaker that came with the xda car kit.
Any suggestions why the radio mute cuts over straight away ?
Try making a call
Hi,
I have seen the same behaviour, it looks like the mute works reversed. If you make a call the radio will swotch on.
If this is your problem it should be easy to fix by using a small relay or something similiar.
Francois
the problem has resolved itself
the problem I had with the radio muting all the time has resolved itself, it now works perfectly.
I have experienced few irritating problems with my Diamond when used in my Seat Leon 2008's stock head unit via bluetooth:
1. Phonebook is displayed always and I can call phones from there which is OK, however "Incoming Calls", "Outgoing Calls" and "Missed Calls" are not working always: sometimes I have those lists filled with the corresponding entries, sometimes all three lists are empty.
2. When I am running iGO8, the bluetooth connection gets connected and disconnected each 5 minutes or so.
3. The headset volume is really low. I didn't have that problem with my Sony Ericsson phones before.
Does anyone have any of those problems and know a solution for them?
Only thing i can say. Stock seat bluetooth is terrible. My brother has orderd a new seat and the dealer advised to choose for the pioneer mounted radio because of the known problems with the seat unit and the bluetooth functions of it.
try posting in the Accesories section, u might get more help.

Pioneer isn't that good either, I had the Pioneer radio with Bluetooth and I couldn't get it running with my previous phone Trinity P3600 and with my Diamond it didn't work either.

I have used the stock head unit previously with simple mobile phones and it has always worked perfectly and I was very happy with the bluetooth implementation in Seat. So, I think the problem is not in the head unit (i.e. an accessory problem) but lies somewhere in the "phonebook through bluetooth" implementation in the Diamond.
Hello,
I have the same problem. I have a Skoda Octavia II (2007) with built-in bluetooth and a Diamond (ROM 2.03).
I use the iGO8, and it works fine, but the bluetooth connects and disconnects randomly in all ~5 minutes. When I shut down the iGO8 or when it runs on the background, the bluetooth works perfectly, when it runs in the foreground, the bluetooth disconnects again...
Who knows wat is this problem? Should I try a new ROM? A new radio version? A new iGO version?
CyberGene: Have you a solution for this problem? Or you use a different iGO8 or a different navi software?
Thanks,
DuckHead_
Unfortunately I didn't find any solution to the problem. To be honest, I am currently using a SonyEricsson phone and the Diamond is used by my girlfriend. We are still using iGo from within the Diamond but with no Bluetooth activated.
Thank you for the quick answer.
Why don't you just take your car into a car audio place and get them to check it out for you
I thought it so that the problem with Diamond. The BT does not work only if running the iGO...
TPMS has beenn mentioned a few times in the original thread, but AFAIK no one has managed to find out how/if any TPMS modules will work. I bought a TPMS module from Klyde, it comes with 4 valve caps and a strange mini USB thing that I assume allows you to plug another mini USB device into the unit at the same time.
Unfortunately I cant get it to work with the built in TPMS app that started appearing in ROMs from June either on my old unit or my new one, I ve tried searching for the device in the BT app and the BT in settings but I get nothing, I m awaiting a response from Klyde.
If anyone has any ideas on how to get it to work then let me know, but its good to see TPMS hardware available for these devices - even if its not working . . yet !
Can you share link from TPMS module?
My brain is stuck what is TPMS? I am sure I should know but i don't get it
Guess youre talking about Tire Pressure Metering Sensor?
would you probably add a hint to your OP and title so others know what you mean? Remeber the non-english-speakers here
Yes this is it (Tire Pressure Metering Sensor).

I simply bought it from Klyde, there was no link, I guess you have to ask them.
It turns out it cant be used with DAB, which is why I cant get it to work - the cable to attach it is the same as the DAB module they sent me.
I m not sure if its BT or maybe NFC or something. I ll report back with results when I get it to to work
Does anybody try this TPMS solution with his HU?

Does the app work in landscape mode?
Can the app start with background mode?
Does the external (valve cap) sensor show accurate value?
I have been using this TPMS system in Volkswagen Polo and my MTCB head unit since 3 months now and couldn't be happier with it.
It activates when you press the button because it invokes the reverse camera display source every time you call it into action.

I have tried these two models purchased at Amazon and they work perfectly. I have them installed on my cars.
The only drawback is that you need Bluetooth 4.0 and HuiFei radio does not have it. I have commissioned an RX USB Bluetooth for Android on Deal Extreme, to see if it works.
So far I'm seeing it in my S5 Galaxy.

Turns out you need a special lead that I wasnt sent orignally, it plugs into one of the sockets on the back of the unit, theyre sending me one, I ll post again when I get it.
Anyone have a idea if this would work with a joying head unit.

Dont know, ask the seller.
But in any case if it works with a Joyous unit it will work with ANY MTCB head unit. There is no such thing as a "Joying" head unit - Joying/CarJoying are simply re-sellers of Shenzhen Joyous head units.

Yes I think.
It looks made specifically for these HUs. So I supposed they tested them.
And screens look like built-in TPMS app that I got preinstaled on my HU (KGL). So I supposed it should work.
But I would preffer ecternal sensors, not ibternal ones. I have 4x4 which reqiires regular tire rotation and ibternal sensors are not suitable as I would need to remove and refit them on every tire rotation.
Is there external versio? I couldnt find it on AlliExpress.
The one I mentioned in my first post has valve mounted sensors and obviously works with MTCB head units

Why? Sure, if they are somehow hard coded to location its sort of funny when they might not match the picture, but you only have 4 tires. Its pretty easy to check them when they are low.
You want internal sensors for TPMS. Less chance for losing them.

I understand the point about tire rotation and internal sensors. Would it be possible to make the same rotation in the app, since all sensors are doing the same thing anyway? Eg. If you rotate your right front to right rear, make the same in the app to correspond with the sensor location?
Sent from my Mi-4c using xda premium
Yes, mapping is possible. Depends on product.

Hi All,
I have also interest for this. Somebody could give some information ? It works, or any other bluetooth type, using with external attached bluetooth 4.0 dongle ?
Well, I found out most of the connections for the TPMS as Klyde didnt send me a lead - power and ground were easy same as the DAB box, then, as its just a mini usb connection its just data + and data -, I know where the one of those wires goes, and narrowed it down to 2 pins for the other, I ve tried both pins and several versions of the TPMS app, but cant get anything. I ve tried looking for BT devices on my phone I thought I found 1 but my phone wouldnt connect and the headunit's BT wouldnt see it, my phone wouldnt connect and after removing all the batteries on the TPMS it still showed up so it couldnt be that. Totally stumped, just cant get it to work.
TPMS-Type
Let me inform you that for some time I'm trying to find a TPMS system that works well with Android auto MTCB-C I have made several purchases and placements from various vendors I will mention my experience to help future stakeholders.
For GS, KD, and JY machines, the following set works very well:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/TPMS-for-SilverStrong-Android-CAR-DVD-Car-Tire-Pressure-Monitoring-System-4-Sensors-Alarm-Tire-Temperature/32803916037.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.IU13AC
It has its own very friendly app and it works with automatic start-up in the background and immediately informs if something goes wrong with the tires of the car, I recommend it for the above!
But last time I discovered another type with external valves that works very well with a Klyde machine and that's it:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Car-Tire-Pressure-System-TPMS-Only-for-Klyde-Brabd-Car-DVD-Radio-display-the-tempreature-and/32806152062.html?spm=2114.13010308.0.0.pPlup1

Thanks for your post - I have the Last type, Klyde themselves supplied me with it, but they did not send me the lead and they did not reply to me when I asked for it, so I had to make one, but I still cannot get it to work, could you post a picture of the lead (the end that plugs into the head unit) so I can see which wires go where (I have seen the picture in your 3rd link before, but I cannot see where all the wires go) ?
Hi all,
Have my android head unit installed in my car and regardless of what i try, like different antennas, power amplifiers, etc, i cannot get the AF to work. I can be driving and completely lose the current radio reception unless i manually tune the radio. Enabling RDS does nothing except show the station name.
It's really annoying as my standard facrory unit worked no problem. Can anyone help?
Thanks
What kind of car is it? A lot of newer cars have two antenna wires. If the installer didn't get an adapter to connect both you will get very poor reception.

Thanks for reply. It's a hyundai i40. As far as i can make out there only the one antenna cable connected to the unit and there is the DAB cable just left to one side
Had a chat with an installer today and he told me that hyundai are one of the hardest to get right as the radio, amp, antenna all work as a system and as soon as one is removed the ability for all to work right is lost.
Don't know if that's just waffle or if he really knows, but thats what he told me anyway
Hi all,
First: I used the search function, but I couldn't find a solution. So if there is one, just post the link to the topic.
And now my problem/idea: I have car that comes with a radio which supports Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Unfrotunately, it doesn't support DAB+. I was looking now for a solution to add DAB+ without any additional (visible) screen or remote control. There are some but they mostly are not really working properly.
So I had the idea to add DAB+ by Android Auto. Is there some hardware to do that (if possible without pressing 10 buttons every time I turn on the car/radio)?
Theoretical it should be:
- a USB-dongle (also powered by this)
- on which a Android system is running
- which starts DAB automaticaly
- has the hardware to receive DAB+ signals
- just have to be plugged into the USB-Port of the car
Is there something like that? If not, is it possible of did I forget something which prohibits this idea? How could this be built and what would be needed?
Thanks for your ideas/links/whatever...

A late but working solution...
USB-Stick (working fine with Android)
Thread for working software for this device. --> latest greatest one
Hi Rigattoni,
Thank you for your reply.
If I understand it correct, the stick is only the DAB-receiver and not the "head unit" on which the android system is running? Or can I make Android running directly on this stick?
