Hello,
Anyone found a way to fully unlock the Mi Note Pro on MIUI 8 with unlocked bootloader?
Yes, first flash TWRP recovery use only 2.8.3.0 then use format after that reboot to recovery then flash sMiUi through adb sideload.
what's smiui?
sMiui is a Miui based ROM you can find in this forum but some say it has a kind of spyware in it
I succeeded with rooting MIUI 8.0.1.1 (LXHCNDG). Before I used the weekly ROMs, now I wiped the cache, dalvik, data, and system. Then installed the stable MIUI 8 with TWRP, installed Kingroot, rooted the phone with it. After I installed the SuperSU from Play store and voila, phone is rooted and everything is OK, including Titanium backup.
I've recently installed the MIUI 8 Development global edition which features Android N.
When I try to install TWRP, and mount the partitions, rebooting to the normal system, I'm stuck on the "mi" screen, it doesn't boot.
Is that an intended behaviour like a sort of storage protection? Now I'm back to Lineage. Did this happened also in the previous versions of MIUI? I can't remember honestly, I'm asking that because I can't explain this, I needed twrp to flash some zips for unlocking the download limitation for the miui rom and for rooting, and making twrp backups.
Someone can explain me that? I can't find proper details in this forum. There are not information for that.
(sorry for my english)
same problem with every global developer rom with android N
solution:
flash supersu in twrp and device boot normally

sure? when it asks to mount system partition should I do that or not?
EDIT: I choosed "keep read only" and then flashed the supersu zip, it worked strangely.
Will it work also mounting the partitions?
You must flash zcx twrp(just search on afh). Official one will cause bootloop with miui.
Hi,
Just got the new Xiaomi Mi 6x. Couldnt find any info online regarding rooting it since it was recently released.
Is it possible at the moment to root this device using magisk? if so is there a twrp version i can boot just to install it ?
Will xposed work with this miui version of android ?
will the international version get a stock android rom that i can flash on this mi 6x ?
Thanks & Regards
Edit : already unlocked the bootloader at Xiaomi's MI service center.

magisk is do able.
in fact I did root my mi 6x with magisk, just grab the beta version (magisk 16.7), since the phone is a treble device.
as for twrp, you can get it here (you can even d/l the unofficial LOS 15.1 as well) :
https://www.cyanogenmods.org/forums/forum/xiaomi/mi-6x-wayne/
the annoying part is, whenever you're in miui, you need to format data for twrp to be able to read/write the data partition.
I haven't really play with this phone just yet, and yes I didn't install the lazyflasher as well.
but the good news, this device is bootable with GSI
as for exposed, I had no luck with systemless exposed... got bootloop on the MI screen.
but maybe that's because I didn't flash the lazy flasher, or should I learn about exposed on a treble device
Can someone give me mi stock recovery 3.0 for this device?

Hello,
Is there any progress on xposed on mi 6x. I have a new mi 6x and MIUI 9.6.6.0 Chinese and English stock ROM is pre-installed. And it is andorid 8.1. Can I install xposed this phone (MIUI 9 and android 8.1)? Should I stay at MIUI 9. Because I get MIUI 10.2.5 OTA upgrade but I haven't applied this update yet. If xposed is not compatible with MIUI 10, should I stay at MIUI 9.6.6?
Thanks

Hi!
I think, first what you need - make TWRP backup with maximum partitions set. You can use for this action this TWRP, folder contain scripts for run TWRP from PC and flash recovery to phone (used TWRP-3.2.3-0810-XIAOMI6X-RU-wzsx150-hypeartist.img).
Use run TWRP only. For run TWRP you need enable USB debugging on phone, connect to PC, allow access from this PC and run Run-TWRP.bat
After boot to TWRP you need not allow modifications on system partition and make full backup. This backup need copy to PC from internal storage and keep for future.
When you make backup, you can what you want - you can install Magisk via run TWRP from PC or upgrade and test MIUI 10

Hi! I'm not use MIUI and cannot answer on this question.
I take all backups (TWRP and partition backups) and tried to install xposed and I failed all of my tests.
I have mi 6x and using original stok ROM MIUI 9.6.6.0. I haven't flashed TWRP yet. I just boot TWRP with fastboot commands. I installed Magisk 19.1.
First I tried to install standard Xposed (probably works with SuperSU, but I am using Magisk). Installed Xposed installer.apk and flashed xposed-v90-sdk27-arm64-beta3.zip from TWRP. Result is bootloop.
I flashed xposed-uninstaller-20180117-arm64.zip and bootloop solved.
Second I tried to install XposedInstaller_3.1.5-Magisk.apk and flashed xposed-v90.2-sdk27-beta3-topjohnwu.zip from TWRP and result is bootloop.
I flashed xposed-uninstaller-20180117-arm64.zip and but bootloop not solved. So I restore TWRP backup (boot, system and data partitions) and bootloop solved.
I tried several different things but all resulted as bootloop.
Any idea how to install xposed to this system?

Xposed need a DEODEXED rom for working and MIUI is a ODEXED rom so xposed don't work and that's why you got bootloop

Hey folk, My redmi k20 pro running on MIUI 12.5.1. I have unlocked bootloader succesfully but at that time i have not flashed twrp recovery. Now, i have almost 80 GB full storage and i don't want to backup. Is there any ways that i can flash recevery without data lost and enable root access to my device.
Goal: Enable magisk to make device certified and install MIUI launcher instead of poco launcher.

TWRP flashes to recovery partition, while your settings, apps, documents, photos are on Data and Internal memory - hence by properly installing TWRP you will not affect your data (sirorryy, I will not teach/guide/assist how to flash TWRP, guides are available everywhere, they are mostly common to the various Xiaomi phones - and I don't have your phone anymore)
Also, Magisk patches to boot partition, Magisk data etc reside on data partition - hence it is again independent of flashing TWRP to recovery
Btw, you actually don't need TWRP or custom recovery to install Magisk.
The recommended method is to patch your boot.img and to flash the patched boot img through Fastboot.
Again, guides are available on XDA and elsewhere, incl. the official Magisk documentation on Github.
Although, installing Magisk should still work through TWRP as long as there is a compatible TWRP/custom recovery for the given device (seek on TWRP.me)
Advice: Please go through the Guides section and Questions section and read/study about installing custom recovery (for your device), Magisk etc.
That is also a general rule on XDA - search, read, study before asking (users usually don't have time and energy to guide newbies through the procedures that are already documented - and questions like here do fall into that cathegory)
