Hello everyone, I hope y'all are staying healthy.
I've been having issues with the emoji/stickers keyboard on whatsapp. I'm still on OneUI 2.1 unrooted, swiftkey keyboard and I'm using Hex for theming.
The problem is that I cannot access said keyboard and don't know why. I'm currently using the double messaging service so I have two whatsapp accounts, and this issue only happens on my main account. This is unsettling, to say the least.
I don't know how else to describe this issue, so I'm attaching a video that shows this behaviour between the two whatsapps.
The first one shown on the video is the secondary account.
If anyone could help that'd be greatly appreciated, thanks!!
Have you tried to disable/uninstall whatsapp layer in hex?
And how about with samsung keyboard?

Thanks for your response. I just tried both of those things and had the exact same behaviour.

Have completely migrated to GO SMS and Go Dialer. No use for the LG apps. But the LG Dialer is listed as com.android.phone and gives me a tsunami of force closes if i try to freeze it. So how do i go about removing the LG SMS and Dialer?
I had exactly the same problem when i migrated to GO apps.
The best so far solution i found was this,
contacts - running
contacts storage - running
dialer dialer storage - running
messaging frosted - freezed
contacts synch adapter - freezed
Everything else i tried it was a fail, like u said, lots of "tsunamies"
im kinda noob in android world, so pls dont throw any [email protected]

Everyone was a noob once. Haha. Thanks for the info. When you have messaging frosted, did you still receive texts?
Yes (via GoSMS) everything worked ok.
the main problem was with dialer/contacts

Ah great. I still wanna know how to get rid of the LG dialer though. It might be one of the causes of battery drain.

Just got my HTC one, non rooted, stock firmware.
When i downloaded facebook messenger and tried to enable it to hijack sms/mms by going to the options screen, the option to enable it is missing. Funny that it works on my xperia z but not htc one.
Anyone with the same issues? Or did i get a weird set?

anyone?
I happened to find the same thing on one of my phone.
The option is here on my Galaxy Note but not on my Acer Gallant. What's weird is that I have not seen a lot a people talking about this.
SMS settings disappeared after I upgraded from Android 4.0.4 to 4.1.2. Hope they fix it soon. Reported it. If anyone knows how to fix, please tell us. Thanks.
I also have this issue and have been searching for a fix with no result. It is a direct result of an upgrade to a 4.1+ base from 4.0.x. I have tried modifying build prop values to see if facebook messenger was somehow disabling the feature based on android version but have not had any luck. What is curious is if you restore messenger from a backup made on a working ROM/device, it does enable the setting briefly and for a single use. Once the app realizes it's authentication is out of sync with Facebook main it requires you to resync and you will lose the feature again. I have found minimal forum posts about it, I believe some other devices are free from issue on 4.2.x though.
Hey together,
couldn't find an answer and the official WhatsApp support wasn't much of a help either, so here's my problem:
I'm using a HTC One, all stock, WhatsApp+ v.3.58 and SwiftKey 4.1.1.146.
Whenever I type something and want to add an emoticon, the Emoji window doesn't "replace" the actual keyboard. It just comes on top, which takes away a lot of space, is very inconvenient and forces me to first use the back button in order to send my message. When I minimize the keyboard and then press the emoji button, the layout looks fine.
I have tried it with the normal WhatsApp, the stock keyboard and also various versions of the respective software.I attached two screenshots, one is how it looks after I typed, the other one how it's actually supposed to look.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Updatet SwiftKey to newest version. Same problem
I got the same problem.
I'm using a Nexus 4, tried both the original whatsapp and whatsapp plus.
Stock keyboard and Swiftkey, nothing seems to solve the problem...
Someone found out what's wrong?
I have the same issue with my Nexus 4 and HTC One too.
I've managed to solve the problem by disabling "Pie Control". Not sure if this helps.
Use the official app, when I remember right this doesn't work with WA+ or try to change the hight of the emoji area to the stock value
Sent with my Orio running HTC One

Hi,
Not a major problem, but after the update, I have noticed that smileys do not display in messaging as they used to.. now a smiley face is just a " : -)" and not the graphic symbol.
I am presuming that this is due to the introduction of emoji which weren't available before. I have a number of contacts that do have emoji's and thus I presume there is a "translation" problem.
Is there anything that can be done about this?? I have tried a couple of messaging apps but I prefer the stock one if possible.
Anyone else having this issue and can suggest a work around??
Thanks
Has someone experienced this? I installed this keyboard from day one, on 22th Nov 2017, but 3 days ago, noticed that whenever the keyboard poped up for typing, the buttons on nav bar disappeared, that is, the nav bar was still there, registering touches in the 3 buttons, but no buttons visible, I reverted to stock keybd, But to no avail, unistalled a.i. type keybd, but no luck, ended factory resetting, and then, all fine, re installed the a.i. type keybd, and again the issue presented, so, I corroborated that this kbd is the culprit, anyone else has experienced this? I am very sorry as I use this kbd since my S3!!

I've been using A.I keyboard for ages too. Love it and best keyboard hands down. My gf note 8 on A.I keyboard app was acting dumb like yours the other day. I put version before last update and no issues. I sent developer email and log. You should do the same.
I myself having no issues like yours or gf. Question for you. Dolphin browser with adblock crashing on you? Think it's all note 8s just curious.
I dont use dolphin, so, I cant say, I use the samsung browser with ad clear, no issues so far, where did you get the older version of ai tupe kbd?
