Sorry to post such a stupid question here. I'm really new in this field and I had read many of the faqs but could really find this info. Does flashing new roms delete all other data such as contacts, photos, music etc? I do know some rom might delete the entire system including the settings and apps, but I wish some people here could confirm my question. Thanks and sorry again for this stupid question.
Do you know what xda, forums, threads, sub-forums,search option, pm,etc etc is?
Depending on how the ROM was made, example Doc's rom starting from version 5 can do an update w/o deleting anything.

Thats a bit harsh its only their 1st post.
Contacts are saved via your google account so when you sign back in they are resync'd with your phone and gallery pics wont be wiped unless you format internal SD card.

I've been searching for hours, including google etc. As I couldn't find any direct answers in regards to my question mark, so I figured perhaps I could post it here to get some replies. And besides, I didn't know anyone here for me to pm. So I posted this. If it offends you, I'm sorry.

I guess that you need to learn to read then? I know the search engine is down at the moment, but that shouldn't stop you finding the Index and reading some of the highlighted threads listed in there.

Ok here goes:
Use the toolbox.
Follow the instructions to the damn letter, nobody but you is responsible for anything that happens to your phone.
Unlock your bootloader, get CWM or TWRP recovery on it ( I prefer CWM but it's pretty much personal preference. )
After you complete these 2 steps, flashing new ROMs and kernels becomes a trivial process.
Once you get that done, copy the latest Vanir build (and optionally; GAPPS package) to your internal or external card, boot into recovery by holding volume down and power button until the LG logo comes up, then let go.
First, wipe data/factory reset, then wipe cache.
Choose install zip from SD card, then choose sd card or external sd card depending on where you put it, navigate to the folder and select it, flash it.
Follow the same procedure for the GAPPS package.
Press back until you hit the main menu, and select reboot system.
It will take longer to boot for the first time, it speeds up after that.
Congratulations, you should now be running Vanir.

The OP has been a member for almost as long as you have. I treated him with courtesy and was polite. The best thing we can do with new members is make them search and read so that they understand what they need to do and why.
When I joined I didn't ask stupid questions - I searched, read and learnt because with my HTC DS if I got it wrong I would have hard-bricked the phone and not been able to fix it.
XDA is not a helpdesk for noobs, that needs to be remembered in the middle of all the social correctness that is now going on. If people are too lazy to try and help themselves they deserve nothing, just as in real life.

Actually Q & A forums works as helpdesk for members, it allows members to help each other.
My advice to u is to learn how to respect people, specially if they are different from u.
Never take to me in this way again !!!!! just simply don't answer my questions

Hit the 'Thanks button' For every person who helped you out here.. It's the way we say thanks instead of posting it, and you are right Q&A should be seen as a 'helpdesk' in xda, and some users feel the need to post anyway..
If you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all
I'm glad you sorted your phone
Will request for the thread to be closed as issue is solved and the tutorial is clear for other members to use when they search!

Before you try to get this thread closed I feel the need to reply to the arrogant tossers who feel they have a right to ignore the rules. By my reckoning Rule # 1 of the XDA Forum Rules beats #2.5
1. Search before posting.
Use one of our search functions before posting, whether you have a question or something new to share, it's very likely someone already asked that question or shared that news.

This place is becoming full of people who claim to have searched - when they simply have NOT. If they can't afford to risk their phone because they need it every day then they should either be certain what they need to do - through searching, reading and learning - or they should not risk their phone.
I repeat "XDA is NOT a helpdesk for noobs". For the OP to tell me to "learn how to respect people" - what does he think I have done over the last couple of years? The answer to his question was out there simple to find if the OP wasn't so lazy. If he doesn't have time to search and read then the same basic rule applies - he doesn't have the time to risk damaging his phone.
FFS people - it's not rocket science and it's not difficult. We don't need yet another tutorial for people to read - because they will continue to be lazy and refuse to search and read. In 6 months time you will still be replying to the same basic questions just because human nature dictates that 90% of the members who sign up here expect to be given the answers without having to do any work themselves.

1) Reported for WHAT exactly?
2) I'm 2.5 times your age - so you might wish to reconsider and redefine some of your terms of reference.
3) Using big red letters doesn't make you look any more impressive.
4) FWIW I don't actually have a problem with you - other than the fact that you seem to be determined to assist in this stupid belief that anybody should simply be able to sign up to this site, ask stupid questions without bothering to help themselves, and not contribute anything at all. You seem to be intelligent, switched-on and a lot better at developing than I have ever been.
Since the OP's question has been answered....

Use the flow chart from post #2 in this thread to identify the correct framework for your device (links to the corresponding threads are given below the flow chart). Download the framework from its corresponding thread, download the xposed_installer_alphaX.apk (where X is the current version number) from here and put both files on your SD card. The installation process is described in the first post of each thread.
i will do this process than it show signature verification failed

What custom recovery do you use? TWRP is the recommended one, as other recoveries have the "signature verification" issue you are facing. Use TWRP instead.
we use CWM recovery mode

It's quite easy: open Google (or any search engine you like) and type in:
your-device-name TWRP
If there is no TWRP available for your device, there is no way for you to get Xposed working at the moment.
My recommendation for you: don't flash Xposed, as you are clearly not able to research/solve the easiest things by your own. Xposed is for advanced users.

Your behaviour is so disrespectful for everyone who is trying to help you. We do not owe you something, we do this for free. You think you can come to XDA and demand free help from everyone without contributing the smallest amount of willingness to do it by yourself like the majority here? If you aren't willing to learn (at least something about respect), then delete your account and never come back here. This is no place where you come to and demand things by others. This is a place for developers, not for some little kids who want cool stuff or cool phones. Don't like it? Well, too bad, that's none of my business.
You have no solution
But you are developers so developers have all solution..

Developers are not Gods.
The developers are not your slaves. You aren't paying them anything. They are not obliged to pander to you.
If you can't even have the smallest amount of humility in asking for help, then go away and don't come back.

I am not saying that developers are Gods. But developers have solution so that is why it is called developers
You have no solution
On you have no solution you are not a developer
Your attitude isn't leading anywhere. Thread closed.
So a few days ago I was on Orange Fox Recovery. I flashed Havoc OS ROM and I flashed Gapps. I rebooted back to system and my device was fine until I couldn't press the Home button and Tab button on the navigation bar. I also couldn't download apps on the Google Play Store (as in when I pressed the install button, it carried on saying "waiting for download"). I wonder if this is something to do with the Gapps I flashed it was the pico version. I'm back on MIUI but I'm just wondering what could've been the problem?

You seem new to the xda community, but that's not a problem, everyone has to start somewhere ! A few suggestions :
1- You have posted in the wrong section of this device as per xda rules; you should post in the Q&A section for people to reply to your queries, since this is the development section.
2- Provide helpful info about your device and which software version (base vendor, Miui version, Gapp log from SD card, lastrecoverylog.log, etc.) is installed. If you don't know how, ask there too.
3- Deleteing the post will help keep the section clean, Do your part ! Ask there and I will try to help you, although I am no expert. :highfive:

Two ways:
1. Pm a moderator about it. Or
2. Report your own post and write that you want to delete it. Simple really, just not doable on the xda app as far as I know. So use a browser to do that.
