Identifing model - Moto G6 Questions & Answers

Sorry if this is a newby question
Also sorry for my bad english, I'm a native spanish speaker
How do you identify if my G6 is "ali" or "arm" variant
If I use CPU-Z I get that my processor is an ARM cortex
But if i swipe to "device"
I can read "Model motog6 (Ali)"
My sku is XT1925-1
I requiere to know this bc I'm looking to root and flash a custom rom on mi device

Try looking on "fastboot getvar all" command in bootloader

second hand
CID, and .1540., is for US Dev Edition which should come unlocked (as far as i know); looks like previous owner converted it from "International" to Dev Edition.
better post a "fastboot getvar all" (remove IMEI and s/n before posting)

1- why is it unlocked, all of a sudden
2- where/what do you want your phone to think it is
3- still need a getvar

1. install HTC Drivers
2. Download fastboot files http://www.androidfilehost.com/?a=show&w=files&flid=1009 ----->>Android Fastboot KIT V1.4.zip (1730 views, 929 downloads)
3. Unzip it on your desktop
4. Disable fastboot in settings/battery.
5.Power off your phone
6. Hold power button and volume down same time and you will boot into bootloader
7. Now connect phone with USB cable
8. Now you should see fastboot usb. If windows installing drivers then wait for it to finish.
9. Now go to your fastboot map you downloaded
10. Simply hold down the Shift key and right-click a folder. The context menu will contain an entry, ‘Open command window here.”
11. Klick on it and cmd will open
12. now write fastboot getvar all
Now you should see all info for your phone..
Many people did not read the instructions and its easier to ask. But it is many threads out there. with good instructions.
Samsung is easier to flash but HTC is much funnier.... Good luck and if you dont know what youre doing dont mess with your phone ot it could result in BRICK

no sorry, you misunderstood me
1- "unlocked" was referring to bootloader unlocked, not SIM unlocked; the screenshot you posted says ***LOCKED***, whereas a US Dev Edition should come as ***UNLOCKED***
2- i've never been to Colombia (i'm sure it's nice), but been to the Bahamas
3- to get a "getvar", you hook up your phone to your PC, reboot to "bootloader/FASTBOOT USB" and on your pc: "fastboot getvar all"
(you are at least a bit familiar with adb/fastboot commands, right?)
and remove IMEI and s/n before posting as you shouldnt be sharing those.

[Q] LTE 493 510 Firmware? What the heck is this?

Hello guys. New guy here with an Xperia Z Ultra phone.
I'm trying to load the Paranoid Android custom ROM.
Had a couple of questions:
1. I went thru Sony's instructions to unlock the bootloader. When I ran the fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock (e-mail code), the first error message I got was "FAILED - Remote - Command did not succeed". So I tried the exact command again, and then I got "FAILED - Remote: The device is already rooted".
I have searched high and low, and cannot seem to find any way to verify that the bootloader is now in fact unlocked.
2. Reading the instruction on how to install CWM/TWRP recovery menus, Every single list of instructions includes the following "This tutorial is only for Sony Xperia Z Ultra with 510 and 493 LTE firmware. Do not use it for any other carriers or variants"
Again, I have searched high and low to find a way to confirm what firmware version I have. All I know is I have the C6806 model, with the build number: 14.2.A.0.290
So can someone please help out a very confused guy here? I don't want to brick my phone by accident
So far it's still working ok

Moto G6 XT1925DL confusion

I have an ex-Tracfone G6 model xt1925dl.
I am ultimately trying to get from my current state (locked bootloader that neither tracfone nor motorola will unlock) to install twrp and pie.
There is lots of advice available, but my first barrier seems to be in identifying my device.
- fastboot getvars refers to it (in several places) as 'ali'
- some descriptions of it refer to this 'dl' version as 'blaine'
- some say it's equivalent to xt1925-10
- others say it's a straight out xt1925-4
Can anyone sort this out please?
Or tell me what and where to check?
Thanks.

Blaine seems to be moto g6 play
I guess it's ali
No. G6 play is either Jeter or Aljeter. The bl version cannot be bootloader unlocked.

P10 with unknown firmware installed

Hi,
Bought a used P10. Now some apps mention that the phone is rooted.
So after a quick look I saw that the about page tells EMUI V 3.1 and Android V 5.1. Also size of internal storage shows 16 GB.
So for sure there is no official firmware on it. I tried to update to stock with the dload & erecovery method but I had no luck.
Can someone tell me how I can get back to stock? Do I have to unlock the bootloader to be able to do so? (In fastboot phone tells me bootloader is locked) Or did I miss something?
thanks for helping me out
Are you sure it's a P10? Because those firmware versions suggest P8.
Search "huawei p10 codes" on youtube and check the ones that can provide phone information (like project menu) where you could see if yoh were scammed.

pretty sure that it's an p10.
fastboot oem get-bootinfo
fastboot oem get-product-model
fastboot getvar vendorcountry
fastboot oem get-build-number
fastboot oem oeminforead-SYSTEM_VERSION
locked
VTR-L09
hw/eu
NRD90M test-keys
VTR-L09C652B101
also in settings (or using 3rd party filemanager) it shows that it has 32 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM

Test Keys indicate failed flashing.
Who knows what was flashed - you cannot judge is this P10 or P8 based on what that failed firmware reports about Internal memory size.
However, there are differences between P10 and e.g. P8 in processor type, sensors, etc (screenshot attached):
https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=8514&idPhone2=7006
Use an app like DevCheck to find about your hardware, and does it fit to P8 or P10 specifications
Btw, I shortly googled about onyx d188 (as from your screenshots) and found this - very similar to yours (Test keys, EMUI 3.1, Onyx, d188):

https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74253118&postcount=194
where some people report same issues when they flashed custom fROMFuture to P10 - btw, it means that seller must have had the Bootloader code for your phone
thanks for your reply,
i trying to get in contact with the shop and try to clear up whats wrong. That was a phone which was buyed "refurbished"
from the looks (and the 4GB RAM) it is a P10

is it possible to flash unlocked moto z3 play firmware on a sprint moto z3 play?

it is both sim and bootloader unlocked, but because of sprint not allowing to change apn settings, I can't use mobile data. I am using it on gsm
I will reply the question myself since it might be useful for someone
I flashed https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/beckham/official/USC/ this firmware, it is xt1929-4 USC using fastboot and it works flawlessly, it is like unlocked version no carrier bloats
from fastboot commands I excluded fastboot flash modem, fastboot flash fsg. and fastboot erase DDR doesn't do anything so don't need that as well

You need the bootloader unlocked, to flash full firmware for different software channels.
