Glad i held out because i usually order these as soon as i preorder the phone every year. A little of laziness helped save quite a sizeable chunk of money this time

As for screen protectors, I've had a great experience with amFilm products. In particular the amFilm Ultra curved screen protectors with the UV light gel. They're similar to the Whitestone Dome but a lot more cost effective. It takes patience and a little more time to install than standard tempered glass protectors, but the results are so much better. I have used them on my S10+ and have purchased them for my upcoming S21 Ultra as well.

How's the fingerprint scanner efficiency after it's application? I'm more concerned about that! I have been having issues with screen guards for the last 2 Samsung phones like the S8 because of the curved glass and S10e because it was unpopular! But I am happy with the preinstalled one! It's really good quality and smooth!

One of the worst screen protectors, for me at least. Too much of a rubbery feel, fingers grip the screen, slight orange peel effect. Can't be certain if they've improved it for the S21U, but seeing it's still a wet install - most likely not.

I would suggest that you have a look at gadgetshieldz matte screen screen guard when it launches... It's cheaper and it's better! I've been using it for a long time... It's hard to install but it's good enough!

Fingerprint scanner works fine. Just need to take your time installing the protector and follow the instructions and video. To me tempered glass is just so much better than the rubbery flexible protectors.

The problem is I'm worried about the fingerprint scanner and the ability to get a proper screen guard that covers everything! I've always had a hard time with the same...

None so far if you mean the official silicone style case that I know of... Lots of them will start coming on Amazon really soon! But otherwise you can go for spigen rugged hybrid or ringke onyx or something like that!

Just know this much... It can be a real pain the behind to install it and I've damaged 2 water resistant phones installing it without the installation kit (used tap water) and also remember not to stretch it! If u even for once stretch it... Your entire fitment is gone! But it's a good one nonetheless! I actually would suggest to keep using the factory fitted one as much as you can before changing it!

Ordered the Ulta Crystal...Thanks for all the input guys
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I use the Oleophobic and it is brilliant. I've noticed that a lot of people from various forums, either get the Oleo or the Crystal.

I got the spigen optic abd i have to peel them off because the s pen didnt work well on the sreen protector. Not sure about crystal and oli though

Yes the ultra crystal works great with the s-pen . (Mine came yesterday)
I just ordered ultra Crystal should be here soon.
Regurgitated From My Giant Note II
I got the Oleophobic after a lot of reading of reviews, and am very happy with it. I like to have a protector that I don't know is there, because the screen is so beautiful. I didn't think the anti-fingerprint thing was important, but it sure is nice. The S pen works fine and I don't have to worry about whether or not, over time, it will mark the glass. I thought it was kind of expensive, but I'm glad I got it, and the price is for 2.
Just put the ultra crystal on this morning and it's perfect! I have the seidio surface combo coming tomorrow so that should do until otterbox decides to release the defender.
I went Ultra Crystal and you don't even notice it on there.
Can someone please post pictures of the Ultra Clear and the Oleophobic on the actual Note 2? I am trying to decide which to get but SGP is a bit on the pricey side but I need a good one. Please help out guys
No one tried the Ultra Fine?!?! Anyways I'll report my comment once reception.
From reading through multiple threads and forums (aside from XDA)
My understanding is this:
Ultra Crysal: Thicker (better against scratches), more fingerprints.
Ultra Oleophobic: Thinner (not as good against scratches), easier to remove fingerprints
I ordered the crystal with my Amazon Prime and I should get it when my phone comes in from my pre-order (weather permitting).

I've bought three Spigen covers three different times from Amazon and received a legitimate product each time. SGP sells their products directly through Amazon.
I actually just received my Ultra Crystal covers today for my Note 2. It is very, very clear like the Ultra Nano I had for my GS3, but it is a little bit thicker. It does show a lot of fingerprints but I've conceded that this is just to be expected with these types of screen protectors. The S Pen works without any issues as well.
Thanks for the input guys...Need to find a good case now
My Ultra Fine has an awful rainbowy effect, I'm extremely disappointed with it and will probably get an ultra crystal or oleophobic instead.

A quick google and I found there is compatible issue w/ s-pen so I ordered crystal instead via amazon. Got it last night and another confirmation that the crystal work ok with the note2 and s-pen.
The protector is slightly smaller than the glass but larger than the screen. the screen no longer get finger printed easily but your finger won't glide as smooth as non-protected screen and so is the s-pen. This may matter if you do art work on the GN2, so that goes a fair warning.
Got the oleophobic and am very happy with it. Good thing there were 2 because I messed up the installation on the 1st one.

No reason to take a photo of the Ultra Crystal. It probably wouldn't show up with out special lenses on an expensive camera. it's more or less invisible to the naked eye and run of the mill camera. Just look at your phone now. That's what it will look like after you put it on (assuming you do it correctly). If you want to see it after application, just to verify it hasn't fallen off without you noticing, you can look real closely and see its border at the outside edge of the top and bottom bezels and around the home button. In practice you will forget all about it and for all practical purposes it is invisible. You may feel a tiny bit more drag with the S-pen when you first put it on or after cleaning with alcohol but once you get a little finger oil on it it's just like glass. Trust me, applied correctly you won't know it's there until it performs its primary purpose and takes the damage that would have scratched your screen. A second screen is included in the package for that inevitable eventuality.
Just got an M8 and looking for opinions on the best tempered glass screen protector out for it. I don't care much about compatibility with dot view case as I most likely wont be getting that case. Sorry if it's been discussed before.

Mime feather is very good but the edges might chip a little is you hit them, it repels finger prints very well and leaves no bubbles or lifted edges. But the best part is that it feels smother than the devices glass and has perfect clarity. Great company with great warranty and service. http://mimeusa.com/product/htc-one-m8-feather-glass-screen-protector/
I have always went with iloome products. Never had a problem. http://www.iloome.com/HTC-One-Screen-Protector-Tempered/dp/B00JAKDL52

Would advise against the Mime Feather. Chips and scratches far too easily.
I've spent a lot of time in the screen protector thread on here and been through several tempered glass protectors myself including both Mime Ghost and Feather and in all honesty the best one I've found, and many agree, is the Nillkin one. Added bonus it comes with camera protectors too.
That said, I'm currently waiting on GLASS-M which is a 0.15mm offering similar to the Feather from Mime. Hoping that is a good product as I really want a 0.15mm protector for when I want to use the Dot View case as regular 0.33mm ones are too thick.

I usually ignore posts like mine but.... I have the Nillkin Tempered Glass screen protector with rounded edges and its sublime. It comes securely packaged in a nice box which contains a plethora of wipes and anti static films which ensure a flawless installation, it was easy for me with the hinge method and I didn`t get any of the cobweb effects or poor adhesive issues as some people have reported. The glass is very smooth with an oleophobic coating. It is much smoother than the stock glass and whilst it still gets fingerprints it`s really easy to wipe them off usually with a single swipe. Overall I can`t say enough good things about it since it was just over $10 aud shipped. I will stress that I haven`t tried any other brands, but I can`t imagine them being better to the extent that they warrant the 3x price difference, support and free replacements may be the only benefit and again that`s not a given. 10/10 for me, excellent packaging, smooth installation, great product and no defects/chipping corners, etc.

It is in my experience, with not only the Feather but the Ghost. If you search through:

You'll find others who have had similar issues too.
I wouldn't touch MIME ever again. Not when you consider the higher premium price you pay, you'd expect superior quality. But that just isn't the case.

Honestly, I'd wait on ordering one of these. The boxes all look hella sketchy and the second link doesn't even have anywhere near the right phone as the model image for the S7 (at least the Edge on both of these has an older model picture). Chances of the screen scratching the first couple of weeks while you figure things out is pretty low since the anti-scratch coating doesn't typically begin to wear off until at least a month (Then is usually pretty vulnerable to scratches; especially after 6 months).
I'd save your money for now. S6 Edge definitely didn't have the best screen shield pre-order experience. Fittings were terrible and some didn't even cover the 'edge.'
ordered the LUVVITT screen protector
To be honest, I would use a conventional film screen protector (maybe combined with a case) until something proven reaches the market.

There aren't even any good film ones yet. I bought a wet install one for now since its the only thing I could find.
Zagg will be making a curved glass screen protector and selling it for $40. Might be better quality than the cheap Chinese ones. Time will tell.

They might as well not even bother at that rate. Zagg isn't the only player around anymore, so I would put my money elsewhere unless they release something now that's better than what's being offered.

No, the S7 screen shape is vastly different even if it resembles the one in S6 Edge. But the same company that made the S6 Edge protector can probably do one for the S7 Edge.

And you really believed that ?
I'd like to get one of these glass screens, but at this stage the cheapest I've seen is around £15 from China. I'll wait until the phone is actually in my hands, they'll come down in price soon enough. I have a protective case on order, that's the main thing.
Considering the continued fail to find a perfect glass s6 edge protector, I'd recommend one of the pet solutions myself...

He posted the wrong image; iCarez does make one for the S7E. I posted a question on the listing to ask for a picture of it actually applied and I also inquired about how they tested it.
For 3D curved tempered glass screen protector for Samsung S7 Edge, it's not all surface with glue, only 4 sides with glue. After testing, full glue will influence screen touch.
hey guys
like many here i pre ordered the note 8. i also have a UAG Monarch case pre ordered.
since this is my first phone with a edge screen i noticed that it will be kinda hard to find a good screen protector. for 2 days im looking through amazon to find something but for now it seems impossible to find something decent.
glass screen protectors seem to be really bad on edge phones so i really don't want or need one of those. also because i only get a screen protector for minor scratches and not for other reasons like a shattered screen.
also there are so many cheap asia products which seem to be from the same factory but just rebranded with different names. the protectors, the packaging, everything looks the same except the name on it. mostly them, but also many others got so many fake reviews that i will not buy them ever, even if they were really good, which i doubt.
for example stuff from those companys: supcase, profer, cubevit, g-color, danibos, klearlook, moko, yootech and so on. all fake and crap.
i also looked for a s8+ screen protector just so i can see which brand is good and which one i should get for the note 8 but there isn't even something good for the s8+. WTF!!! even the one from spigen seems to be crap.
so can any one in here recommend me a simple nice tpu screen protector with edge sides covered which will also be case friendly???
i had a s4 before and i took of my screen protector 6 months ago. since then i got many minor scratches even tho i got nothing then my phone in my pockets. so i don't want this to happen with my new phone.
please guys im getting crazy here. only 10 more days to find something. thanks!!!
ok i think i will try this one and hope it will be good.
maybe someone else in here tried this brand already on s8/s8+ and can tell me something about it?
thanks!!

I'm not a big fan of plastic protectors - in terms to protecting against scratches they are better than nothing, but generally suffer from poor oleophobic properties, don't feel as "slick" as glass, and sometimes mark up when using the S-Pen.

+1 glass is much better way to go!
i gave in and had best buy put on an invisibleshield hd on my note 8.. I am pleasantly surprised by the nice feel and so far no spen issues with marking..its case friendly and im glad i had them apply it.. (also price matched for $19.99 from zagg) i went through 2 different tempered glass ones off amazon ..Honestly i think im going to keep this one on for the duration.. it fits perfect and since its case friendly theres no lifting up at the edges.
Bought a tempered glass sp for my note, fits perfect even with the Samsung view case

I don't care if it's edge adhesion, I'm just looking for one that won't let water or dust in. Any ideas aside from whitestone?
Maybe it's too early. Have wait for manufacturers to catch up.

The one that came with my case is good. No issues with sensitivity and it's clear. Works well and fits perfectly inside the case.

I wasted my money two times on glass screen protector for my brand new S8 until I bought whitestone glass screen protector. It's very expensive but it's worth to buy it.

Check out the current thread on whitestone. There's no way I'd pay $50 for one protector. I bought three for a fraction of the price of one of theirs and am totally satisfied with the one I'm using now.

There obviously could be a huge variation in the quality of the sticky-edged/dot-matrix type protectors, but it's difficult to imagine any coming close to the performance of the Whitestone with regard to sensitivity, clarity, fit and feel.
The Whitestone isn't cheap, but it is very good.

Yeah I get that. Using the one that I linked, I honestly can't justify paying the price for whitestone. It can't be 5 times better but costing nearly 5 times more.... It needs to be.

Well, the Whitestone is 100 times better than the p.o.s. protector I put on to start off with.

I'm really happy with this $15 one though

This works well for me.
Note 8 screen protector/cases
I have the Note 8 with a Zagg HD Clear Invisible Shield (not the glass one) and a Otterbox Defender case. Not happy with either. The Defender case pushes on the edges of the screen protector and it peels up. Not too happy with the Otterbox Defender holster. It's flimsy and doesn't hold on to the case very well. I have problems with my phone being popped or pulled out of the holster of something rubs or catches on it. It comes out pretty easy. It's not held in the holster very well at all. Anyway, I just purchased a Whitestone. I hear they're the best glass protectors. As far as compatible cases, I know there are some YouTube videos that people test screen protectors with various cases.
Hello, I hope you're well.
I am upgrading from a Note10+ to a Note20 Ultra, which is set to be delivered in mid-September. I have spent over 4 hours looking over screen protectors for this phone and have been fairly disappointed by what I have found. Is there a near-perfect screen protector for someone who is pretty picky and does not have a budget? I'm hoping there are others out there like me.
I know there are already quite a few screen protector threads on XDA - I have read all of them - but most of them were written before people had the phone. I'm hoping people can share their opinions and thoughts after actually using the protectors on the phones, even if it's just say that a certain brand's protector absolutely sucks so I can avoid it.
Some criteria:
Reputable brand, not one from China where the brand isn't involved in the manufacturing at all
Lots of brands use third-party manufacturers and simply slap their brand on the package
Excellent reviews with no review-shilling
Lots of companies use shills to artificially make their products seem better (Fakespot.com and ReviewMeta.com are decent at detection)
Case-friendly
I'll be using the Spigen Tough Armor and need the screen protector to compatible with it
No issues with fingerprint unlock
There are many products that don't work well with the ultrasonic fingerprint readerI don't want a screen protector that has a cutout over the fingerprint reader area
Not a fingerprint magnet
I don't want my fingerprints to show on the screen protector too easily
Durable
This is kind of a given, but I think any reputable brands' protector should be durable enough
Feels good to the touch
I generally like tempered glass because it feels natural, but I would be fine with other materials as long as they feel fine
Thank you,
Tofu Vic
This all depends as you have mentioned.
I would suggest Whitestone Dome glass or AmFilm. Both are glue and uv based installs which could be the easy but hard part if no Patience on installation.
They are durable and better handling if you drop phone as it will detain the impact instead of the phone.
They are compatible with the fingerprint reader and haven't had any issues with it.
It is also case friendly as you can see on pictures with the spigen tough armor.
The down side is that whitestone has gone up in price each year but AmFilm seems to provide the same but at better price. But as you mentioned price is no difference for you.
I bought the whitestone due to having used it on previous notes and can be seen in pictures.
I'm not sure if AmFilm is less suggestible with fingerprints left on screen than whitestone. Yes you have to clean the screen as it would show fingerprints after a long use of screen.
I would read on both and see what is better for you.
I'm not too bothered with the fingerprints smudges much and usually it is not too noticeable when I use it. I wished before I purchased the whitestone to try the AmFilm but by the time I saw it I already had this.
You will barely notice it there with the spigen tough armor case and the way to notice that you have it installed is from the camera cutout.
But this is my take. I would rather have this type of tempered glass screen protector than just others that have glue around or just film for the added protection from accidental drop.
See pictures of my device if any more let me know.
But this is my take. Hope this answers some of your questions on this particular one.

Like I mentioned the price for the whitestone has got everyone mostly angry so everyone has left a 1 to 2 stars because of price. The other reason whitestone and AmFilm is more about the glue and uv install that is slightly troublesome for some and if a slight mistake could cause issues with installation.
Whitestone started at the $40 range when it started and now it is selling at the $70 range. So I expect this is where they are angry for and I was hesitant at first but went with something I used.
But seems you have done your research.
I've had the phone since the 20th and installed whitestone and spigen tough armor case the same day. So no issues since then.
I've also had it since note 8, 9 and 10+ . So they are good just that they have gone up in price and likely might look at AmFilm on my next purchase if this keeps going. I've wasn't to keen on paying it but wanted protection on my phone so got it to have it on time. I've had the same whitestone installation on the note 10+ for 1 year.
The choice is still yours and research is good but reading the reviews as well and using fakespot or reviewmeta helps to reduce the reviews to read but but also knowing what the reviews are saying could help as well.

I can vouch for Whitestone and AmFilm UV based glass. I've done 10+ whitestone installations since the S7 days and recently used the AmFilm for my Note 20 Ultra. The installation is quite easy if you read the instructions carefully (more than once) and watch the installation videos (more than once). The first install is probably the scariest and the highest chance you will make mistakes and I honestly considered it a learning experience lol.
The fingerprint sensor still works (albeit a bit slower than normal sometimes, sometimes it's very quick at least on my AmFilm). Fingerprints don't show very easily but if there are any it's easily wiped off because both have good oleophobic coatings. Both are tempered glass so durability is what's usual for that but because it's glass the feel of it is unmatched vs plastic or TPU.
Case compatibility you will have to be cautious for. For cases that have a front frame piece those will usually lift up the glass. For one piece type cases or cases where it's multiple pieces but they attach from the rear, you should be fine. I've used Spigen Tough Armor cases with UV type glass in the past without issues.
I am using the LK film and it works great for FP, but does not add protection for drops. Waiting till we get a definite answer on a glass screen protector that works great for FP.
Just peeled my WSD off as it was causing a shadow on white/light screens.
Might try a couple cheap LK film protectors before using my second WSD glass.
