Just got an M8 and looking for opinions on the best tempered glass screen protector out for it. I don't care much about compatibility with dot view case as I most likely wont be getting that case. Sorry if it's been discussed before.

Mime feather is very good but the edges might chip a little is you hit them, it repels finger prints very well and leaves no bubbles or lifted edges. But the best part is that it feels smother than the devices glass and has perfect clarity. Great company with great warranty and service. http://mimeusa.com/product/htc-one-m8-feather-glass-screen-protector/
I have always went with iloome products. Never had a problem. http://www.iloome.com/HTC-One-Screen-Protector-Tempered/dp/B00JAKDL52

Would advise against the Mime Feather. Chips and scratches far too easily.
I've spent a lot of time in the screen protector thread on here and been through several tempered glass protectors myself including both Mime Ghost and Feather and in all honesty the best one I've found, and many agree, is the Nillkin one. Added bonus it comes with camera protectors too.
That said, I'm currently waiting on GLASS-M which is a 0.15mm offering similar to the Feather from Mime. Hoping that is a good product as I really want a 0.15mm protector for when I want to use the Dot View case as regular 0.33mm ones are too thick.

I usually ignore posts like mine but.... I have the Nillkin Tempered Glass screen protector with rounded edges and its sublime. It comes securely packaged in a nice box which contains a plethora of wipes and anti static films which ensure a flawless installation, it was easy for me with the hinge method and I didn`t get any of the cobweb effects or poor adhesive issues as some people have reported. The glass is very smooth with an oleophobic coating. It is much smoother than the stock glass and whilst it still gets fingerprints it`s really easy to wipe them off usually with a single swipe. Overall I can`t say enough good things about it since it was just over $10 aud shipped. I will stress that I haven`t tried any other brands, but I can`t imagine them being better to the extent that they warrant the 3x price difference, support and free replacements may be the only benefit and again that`s not a given. 10/10 for me, excellent packaging, smooth installation, great product and no defects/chipping corners, etc.

I have this exact combo (Slim Armor + Nilkin Glass with rounded edges) and can confirm that it works perfectly. Can post a picture in the morning if you're interested (going to bed now - late here in Brisbane Australia!)
The combo of Supcase Beetle and Nilkin also works perfectly.

I've been using the Zagg Glass screen protector for a couple of months...no chips, no scratches...looks like new.

It is in my experience, with not only the Feather but the Ghost. If you search through:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2691879
You'll find others who have had similar issues too.
I wouldn't touch MIME ever again. Not when you consider the higher premium price you pay, you'd expect superior quality. But that just isn't the case.

I use xtremegaurd, it's $6 with an 85% off coupon, works good, cheap as hell, and honestly just as good as the others but it's a TAD bit thicker and smudges a bit. But if you just want glass, go with xtremegaurd. You won't be disappointed

Personally I've only tested the MIME and it was disappointing. Has known issues reported by many users. But it does work with Dot View.
I haven't tried the others. The unnamed eBay one quotes a hardness rating of 10H which is difficult to believe given thicker glass protectors max out at 9H.
Anyone tried any or know of any others?
Edit: I might give the Glass M a try. Found its official site:

It's made from Corning Gorilla Glass.

I decided to purchase the Glass-M aswell, it's a lot cheaper than the Spigen.
Hopefully it lives up to the quality.

From what I can find, and the reviews on amazon. This glass is actually like double the thickness they advertise. It's like .35mm not .18.

I actually have the linked screen protector, and while I don't have anything to measure the actual thickness of the protector, I know for a fact that it's thinner than the Nillkin tempered glass protector. I had that one on my phone prior to the Hero glass, and installed it on my wife's M8. It's so much more noticeably thinner, my wife made me but one for her after using my phone the other day. It's definitely closer to .18 than it is to .35

Too thick, but I really like it.
I have the MIME Feather Glass and it works perfectly with my Dot View. At first the flap didn't close 100% but I've had them for about a month now and the cover is now flush with the phone when it closes.
I'm not too familiar with many of the issues people have reported with the MIME Feather, but I can say that I wish it had rounded edges. I think having squared off edges causes dirt and debris to line up along them, although I haven't heard if the rounded edges don't have that problem.
Not like it's going to make or break anybody's decision, but the MIME Feather does have fantastic packaging and installs like a charm. Not a single air bubble or spec of dirt got under my screen and that's the first time in my entire history of owning screen protectors.
Anyone received the GLASS-M yet? Mine is in transit from Hong Kong.
With regards to MIME, my biggest issue is the price they charge versus the quality of the product. With plastic conventional protectors things were different. There was a noticeable difference between the poor and the best examples from companies. With these tempered glass ones though, you can buy an average priced one (sometimes even a cheaply priced one) and you'll still have a decent product. The Nillkin for example is priced in the middle, yet its quality is superb and in my opinion bests the MIME equivalent (Ghost) offering.
I know. I've had both.

Mine should be coming this week.
Hopefully it works out well.
Received the GLASS-M today. Came packaged really well (kudos to the seller). The actual product packaging is neat and tidy. Has two compartments within. One housed the protector, the other side the cleaning kit. Inside you get:
- Screen protector
- Alcohol wipe
- Cleaning cloth
- Bubble remover (not sure why, no need)
- Static cling dirt remover
The protector itself applied easily. Simply lined up the top edge and gently eased the bottom end down. Went in straight first time.
Looks and feels as good as you'd expect from a glass protector. Finger slides over it as if it wasn't there. Does not seem to have any issues with fingerprints, very resistant.
If I had to pick some negative points I'd have to go with:
- could be a fraction (and I mean fraction) longer
- doesn't have rounded edges
The first though, is just me being particularly finicky. It well covers the screen despite.
The second affects all 0.15mm protectors I've found to date. I guess it's pretty hard to round off an edge so thin! So I can live with that.
Otherwise though, I have nothing but good things to say about it. The only other 0.15mm protector I've had is the Mime Feather. I'd choose the GLASS-M over the Mime without question. The Mime felt flimsy, really flimsy and scratched far too easily. This one feels more sturdy, yet still as thin. Yet to see if it's better at resisting scratches however, I don't doubt it will do a better job. The Mime was terrible for that.
Works nicely with Dot View by the way.
Highly recommended.

Just want to know. I have a spigen Rugged armor case that i have on right now.
I bought spigen curved crystal film and i tried to put it on but i failed so it's in the trash right now.
So right now i have a choice to just use the case and just leave it be or go to the mall and apply a zagg screen or something or buy another screen protector online.
my only concern is: i heard a lot of people say that screen protectors are not compatible with cases, so it's either one. And with the S7 edge having a "glass back" i figured a case will be more important?
Can anyone confirm? I see a lot of recommendations for cases and protectors but none of them are "in combination of" so yea.. thanks!
It's not a black and white answer.
There are slim fitting cases such as the Spigen Thin Fit, Ringke Slim, Samsung LED wallet case (note: latter I'm not sure of with TGSP, fine with TPU/PET film) which don't encroach too much on to the edges and screen area. These type of cases will work happily alongside 99% of all TGSP and traditional TPU/PET film protectors.
The more rugged cases, the type which lip round on to the screen and/or edges, these will lift or crack 99% of all TGSP or TPU/PET protectors in varying degrees of severity.
Lastly, there are a number of brands (Best Skins Ever for example) offering "case friendly" protectors. At present they're limited to TPU/PET. I've yet to see a case friendly TGSP marketed as such. These case friendly ones, whilst cannot guarantee 100% compatibility, will work with the majority of cases whether rugged or slim.
So there's your answer.

I am using the Armor Suit MilitaryShield "case cut" wet apply screen protector. I am a bit of a case junky and have 13+ cases for my S7E. The screen protector is compatible with all of the cases I own. I would prefer a tempered glass screen protector but that is largely an exercise in futility for this phone.
If you wish to achieve maximum compatibility with cases, I would recommend one that is case cut.

Fingerprint resistance is better than most film screen protectors. Quite easy to wipe clean as well.
Lint resistance is fairly difficult to provide commentary on - I tend not to tolerate that type of thing and keep the channels between the screen and edges of whichever case I may be using (and my pockets) as clean as possible.
I will say that this screen protector dents and scratches easily, but then heals itself after a day or two. I was worried at first but then the marks gradually disappeared.
Appearance - glare is apparent and a very mild amount of orange peel. It is certainly better than Zagg. Clarity and colour reproduction is excellent.
Scroll feel is 7.8/10 verses having no screen protector. This is a necessary evil for wet screen protectors. There is a miniscule slight amount of finger drag when gliding over it.
Ease of Application - to adhere properly, you really must force yourself not to use it for awhile. I am lucky in that I have other devices I could use while the screen protector was drying. I let it dry a full 24 hours before placing it into a case. The drying time is very important for the edges to adhere properly.

I have been using a $10 glass protector on my S7E for exactly a month now with the Unicorn Beettle case with one single issue.
There is a grid like pattern on the glass that is only noticeable on the Gear VR, but not at all with normal use.
My guess would be that this is somehow to keep the screen sensitivity.
I was afraid that the case would fracture the glass protector but that has not been the issue.
They work great together.

I was afraid that the case would fracture the glass protector but that has not been the issue.
They work great together.

That's the exact same case I have. I'll check that protector out as I haven't seen anyone else post saying they have a glass protector with a case like ours. Glad to see it hasn't broken since it's sandwiched.

I'm using Spigen Thin Fit case together with IQShield Liquid Skin, fits well
I have a ArmorSuit full-coverage screen protector on. I also gave it a good 12 hours before use and 24 hours before en-casing.
It has fit well with the Ringke Fusion, Obliq Naked Shield, and Ghostek cases. I currently have the Ghostek on.
The Ghostek edges overlapped a bit on the top/bottom, I used a business card to smooth down the ArmorSuit under the edges and have no creep. I no gaps between the screen protector and the Ghostek case.

I'll try to post some pics later.
I'm personally debating beetle pro full or beetle pro hybrid.. i'd like the edge protection.. i wish it had a kick stand as well.. i guess with hybrid if i go with gear vr it is easier to take off.. rumor is, though, if you cut off the two rubber bumpers on gear vr, a case (or maybe just a screen protector) will somehow fit?
The beetle pro full is apparently very hard to remove in a hurry. The hybrid lacks the edge protection.
I've already tried one tempered glass protector on amazon and it falls off or lacks sensitivity unfortunately.. seems they all have this issue.. now i'm trying to find a 100% working alternative or maybe regular type that also is good sensitivity.. 100% is probably impossible with this phone.
This Roya with kickstand case i initially got.. but its far too slippery and is falling off at times.. i'm guessing the beetle pro is the answer (full one) and just deal with it later with VR.
The Orzly Tempered Glass Screen Protector. I used 3 of them on my 1+1 and they did their job perfectly, not a scratch on the screen even when I sometimes thought it was done for. So after ordering my 1+3 i first bought the tempered glass screen protector from Oneplus. Huge mistake. Hands down the worst screen protector i used so far. So almost immediately i ordered myself a trusted Orzly screen protector.
Installation:
Installation of the screen protector was quick and easy. I guess the procedure is about the same for every screen protector out there but still.. The only problem is that even i wiped the screen clean with the cloth etc. But still i managed to get a spec of dust on the screen which really annoys me. I guess i'll just buy another one
Conclusion:
Great screen protector, does the job perfectly. I hope i don't need to replace it any time soon.
Pictures:
As you can see on the picture below, the screen protector from Oneplus isn't all that good...

However the Orzly one:
thanks for the review but before people run out to buy one based on this review, a few things i feel should be mentioned:
1) this Orzly protector does NOT work with a lot of cases. if you have a case that covers the sides but doesn't go over the glass, it will push and lift the Orzly. if you do have a case that fits snug, it will push in the glass and create weird color marks.
2) the protector has dots on it that are clearly visible in direct sunlight and quite frankly, make the screen look like crap.
3) the protector is a smudge/fingerprint magnet!!!
4) because it doesn't quite stick to the screen, unless the sides are fully covered by a case, you will get dust inside.
5) i did notice a slight touch response degradation but its not major.
my conclusion: Orzly dropped the ball on this one. i had their protector on the One and the Two and they were incredible but the one for the Three is a mess and i will be asking for my money back.
I can only confirm it. I'm very disappointed with Orzly tgsp. It doesn't work with orzly flex case. Matrix dots are very annoying, so far it's the worst screen protector I purchased.

Completely agree Rattles, this screen protector doesn't fit with Orzly's own Grip Pro case. For me the touch response degradation was so bad, I removed the screen protector after less than 24 hours with it fitted and fitted it to the inside of my bin.
Personally, I think that this screen protector is utter trash.
I second the negative experience with the Orzly TGSP, which is quite a bummer. I had very good experience with their TGSP on previous devices, but I guess the curved screen made them make a bad deciscion to go with the black bordered one.

I am pretty happy with the Orzly which I use with a sandstone case.
2) Dots are only visible under certain circumstances, but it is rare, in my case 99% of the time not visible. I already forgot about them.
3) Agree, it is a fingerprint magnet. But also easier to clean than the original screen protector.
5) Didn't notice any touch response degradation and must state that thanks to a more slippery surface the fingers slide better which for me is a big plus.
Although it fits perfect and the dot matrix doesn't bother me but dust entered the screen protector after a week even though I was using a case.
Very disappointed with orzly. Not 2.5d at all. Glass is bigger than screen and there are a lot of dust in the gap. Dots are visible quite often. Doesn't stick well.. Hate it.
Bought and discarded the protector after one day of use. For all the points mentioned by many above. Waste of money.

Yes, i agree. The dots are only visible in direct sunlight. That still so many have bad experience with this tgsp. I really like it!
Just to add one more negative thing: the Protector is very reflective (compared to other tempered glass protectors and stock Display). Hence outdoor usage is limited.

I also have this one and I'm super disappointed.
I mean, why don't they just make it translucent? And why is there no glue on the glass? It lifts off even without a case...
Also the cutouts aren't perfect, while the camera and speaker ones fit perfectly I only see half of the buttons. And those fingerprints!
Really, even the pre-applied protector from OnePlus was better.
I can confirm all these flaws. Anyone got a recommendation for a good one? The official oneplus one is back in stores, so I maybe just end up buying this.
I threw it away as well. It was worse than the official one tbh, at least the official one doesn't fall off all the time...

FYI: Complained about the garbage quality through Amazon and got my money back.
Time to find a better glass protector now.
i got a casebase protector but havent removed the protector that comes with it, should i try the casebase or is everyone going back to standard protectors since these full coverage ones arent cutting it?

As far as I can tell , the Case base is identical to Orzly so honestly, I would just keep the one that came with the phone and send it back.

I installed mine and I like it. I'm pretty ocd about acreen protectors too...no gap under acreen, and I use the oneplus sandstone snap case and it doesn't touch the protector. Only fault is the dang rate it picks up fingerprints. I can see the dots underneath, but only in sunlight...that not an issue at all. I tried about 3 different ones odd of Amazon before I left this one on.

Are there any full body cases, which offer good protection, with built-in screen protectors that don't negatively effect the screen's responsiveness?
I currently have the i-Blason Ares case. And, while I like the case, and its slimness, the built-in screen protector makes the phone very difficult to use.
Thank you.

I'd have to disagree with this, the responsiveness for me with the Beetle was pretty bad especially when using the keyboard towards the middle of the screen. On the sides of the curved screen the case fit much more "tight" and seemed great but towards the middle it was horrible. I became annoyed with it within 24 hours and popped it out and installed the Skinomi wet install (case friendly) protector which fits great with the Beetle.

For me there are nearly no problems with responsiness, maybe because i used a similar case for my former S4 Device and so i subliminally use it with a little more of force.

Perhaps it's worth trying and returning if it's defective.
My mother uses this and she thinks it is fine but bulky..
i-Blason Galaxy Note 8 Case, [Heavy Duty Protection] [Clear Back] [Magma Series] Shock Reduction / Full body Bumper Case with Built-in Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy Note 8 2017 (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074W3WBVC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_uldiAbSN4EFZ8
Note: This has a Plastic Screen Protector with the Dot Matrix just like most of the Tempered Glass Screen protectors for the Note 8.
I, on the other use an X-Doria Defense Case (Carbon Fiber look case) + this so-so Tempered glass screen protector with the notch. I am somewhat regretting my decision.
Do most of the built in screen protectors suffer with dust ect getting underneath the protector?
I've tried both wet and glass with my spiegen tough Amor case and not happy with anything so looking at maybe getting something like this in the op
You can also try Poetic Guardian. Front cover has protective film (strong one, but not a glass or plastic strong). I was fairly surprised with how responsive it is. Just a minor loss at the bottom, really nothing to much.
Cheers,
Alex

Just got the poetic revolution just question has anyone applied a full cover glass screen protector and pipped the one that come with the case off as it's kind of rubbish
Main question is would the from of the case still fit on?
Anyone have first hand/personal experience with the i-blason magma case and can vouch for its sensitivity with and without s pen use? Thanks
I use a poetic guardian but I removed the plastic screen protector as I found it was more difficult to use the screen.
I used to have one of the full screen glass protectors on but I found they were not always sticking on correctly.
So now I use both. The guardian with the plastic screen removed sits over the glass screen with the added bonus of keeping it fixed as the case front covers some of the protector at the top and bottom so keeps it held down.
So far out of all I have used this is by far the best option and even poetic themselves suggested this.

The screen protector is like the one here
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-8-Case-Friendly-3D-Full-Tempered-Glass-Film-Screen-Protector/253253647292?_trkparms=aid%3D555017%26algo%3DPL.CASSINI%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20151005190540%26meid%3Dff5ba532a7024c379424a67892962373%26pid%3D100505%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26&_trksid=p2045573.c100505.m3226
I found it best to get the protector with the black surround as it does still look part of the case and its much easier to line it up
When you remove the original terrible screen protector from the case just make sure that you get all of the adhesive off (it just pulls off easily)
Hope this helps

Yes because the screen protector has the sticky sides anyway the case just makes sure its always stuck down
so far no dust under the protector , but i do get some under the rear back part by the camera and finger sensor but i can assume you already see that with yours

Well finally fitted and a lot better now then the fitted screen protector feels nice to be touching glass again only thing is the protector I bought seems to be poor quality I'll wait till after Christmas and look at buying a better one
But after owning the s8 plus and now the note 8 and around 20 screen protectors including the whitestone I think this is up to now the best option
Do miss my spigen tough Amor but this is the best option up to now
I initially planned to only buy the casing from Ringke since I prefer how it looks compared to Spigen's. However, I then noticed that Ringke also produced tempred glass for Poco F1, so I ordered them both and have been using them for several days now.
Ringke Invisible Defender - tempered glass
This one came a couple days earlier than the case, so I have it on first while using the default casing.

Here are some of my thoughts:
There's not much of a problem precision-wise, the top and bottom part are well covered, the glass went way over the screen and into the bezel (Image A)
The side part is covered very precisely and didn't go over to the bezel part, too tight that for me it led to the issue below (Image B)
When in the dark, tilting the phone to the side reveal this rainbowish lines (Image C)
Using only the default slim casing, you can feel the edges of the glass are somewhat rough. The Ringke case below fixes this issue for me though, as the case cuts higher than the glass so it covers the rough gap. Ringke did explained on the product's page about having inevitable lifted sides due to the curved nature of the phone screen, so this might be the reason of that rough edge.
Ringke Fusion-X Casing
I've never use Ringke products prior to this phone, the packaging of the casing is somewhat minimalist. When applied to the phone, however, it feels satisfyingly fit to the phone. I have no complaint with the precision so far.
One more thing on the tempered glass: No oleophobic coating, it's a fingerprint magnet
Im fine with ringke fusion X case and Nillkin tempered glass.eeheheh. paired with a ringke strap

Thank you for this wonderful post I am planning to buy ringke case....I am using poco since past 5 months with default tpu case, now it is turning yellowish brown like tpu cases do after a while.... Can you tell me what is the material on the transparent back of rinkey case ? And please tell if it gets scratches after usage of few months.....
Also did you find a tempered glass with decent olephobic coating and also which is not a rip off. I'm happy with my current one, only one issue that it is a finger print magnet too.....The screen looks dirty when phone is locked and I have to constantly wipe it to keep it clean

After 2 months of usage, no scratches yet. But I can't confirm on the back side material, my guess would be that it is plastic. So far I am really happy with the case, but not so much with the glass.
I still stick with the Ringke glass. My workaround is to coat it again with a liquid glass protection, just the cheap one. It isn't exactly fingerprint proof, but much better than using just the tempered glass.

Cool n thanks for quick reply...if you bought that liq glass protection online...can u please send me the link, I'll really appreciate it ?
And I was just worried about scratches on the back panel, since yours is okay so now I will happily buy Ringke case ?
And for the tempered glass I need to find something.... Hopefully that solution you are using will help.. because online if you buy tempered glass they say it has olephobic coating and anti finger print in product description but mostly it's just gimmick ??
C this is how smugged my phone gets....And it may look that I have touched it with oily figures, but trust me that ain't the case

Whoa, that is a really bad case of prints you got there. When I said my glass is fingerprint magnet (before I put liquid coating), it actually wasn't even half as bad as yours!

Anyway, I am using this liquid to make up for that problem:

?? Told you it's really annoying, I have to keep wiping my screen after few hours or it looks quite dirty...I will try to find similar kind of solution here, or get tempered glass from local market instead of online, because online u can not be sure ? even this tempered said "anti figure print" ????
