So I recently received MIUI 12.0.1.0. if I update, will there be any issues in future if I wanted to unlock bootloader?
No, you won't have any problem. You can unlock the bootloader anytime you want, no matter which Miui version you are using. You will have to wait seven days , that's all (like everybody else).

Hello, I have some questions about this phone, it will be long ...
My old Xperia XZ died after a foamy party ... so I bought this phone, and it's pretty cool.
So I would now go to android 8, surely LineageOS or EMUI8 I do not know yet.
So, do I really need to rebrand my phone for project treble?
Some links say no, some Rom allow activating treble, and other links say that you have to go through the official Rom EMUI8
I have to use EMUI recovery or TWRP?
Where can I find EMUI8 for Huawei?
How do I unlock my boot loader?
because the links I found his death ...
It was a lot easier on Xperai: D
Thank you for your help, as much on Xperia I know everything but there I am lost with this different recovery, with EMUI ... with the trick honor / Huawei
And I'm french, so not sure that I'm very readable, do not hesitate to tell me
Hi,
Just wait a little bit it should be Rolling soon in all countries officially (UK, Spain among others countries already got it so it might be soon for France )
If you're really in hurry there are multiple guides here that explains different ways to update manually. Not sure though if you can still unlock the bootloader...
Salut!

Tks,
I have bought this phone in spain so i hope i will have the update soon.
But, i want to change my rom because i'm barely out of storage, so i want a debloated rom like lineage not sure EMUI8 will fix my prob...
anyway I do not think I have enough storage to download it... they only have the 16go at movistar.

Yeah its too late for bootloader codes, huawei closed it a few days ago. Unfortunately you cannot flash any custom roms/recoveries/kernels, and i doubt anyone will ever crack the bootloader. sorry mate.:crying:

I'm baffled. My sim-free UK device still hasn't got the update whereas seemingly everyone else has.

Hi all!
Loving my new device!
I bought it from Gearbest and it's the International version that came with an unlocked bootloader and the Official Global ROM installed (no idea how they unlocked the bootloader).
Just after I booted it for the first time I got the official update to MIUI 10 and everything went perfectly.
My question is: should I reflash the official China ROM and relock the bootloader just to be able to unlock it again on my own? What's the advantage of doing it since it's already unlocked and with an official ROM?
Is it safer? Can I be in trouble in the future if I don't do it?
Sorry for asking this basic question, but this is a new ecosystem for me.
Cheers!

A good question, and yes, if you want to have control of your phone, this is a good idea, but you will wait btw 15-20 days
Hey everyone, I know it's probably too soon, but do we know yet if the bootloader can be unlocked after an Exynos N950F is upgraded to Pie through the official OTA update? What I want to know is: If I let this update happen, will I be unable to unlock and do custom roms after? Is it better to unlock while on Oreo and then update via custom roms only, etc.?
I haven't unlocked my Note 8 yet (only had it 1.5 months), but I want to keep my option to do so open.
Thanks.

may be u should first root by stock kernal which is rooted flashing
Exynos varianst do not have a locked bootloader, never have.
You need OEM Unlock ticked in Developer options to be able to flash non-standard stuff. Once you load TWRP, and flash the stuff you want, as long as it has the RMM cleaning integrated, you'll be fine.
Many devs deliver bootloader/modem packages with the rom, mostly as a side package. Even if you came from Nougat, after flashing the bootloader/modem first, you'd be fine flashing the custom pie stuff after.

Nah, that's alright. I wish people would research more for their issues, but if we're are done tweaking our stuff, we might as well help others, even if we have to repeat it like 100x a week

Sorry for being dumb I'm just scared to do things wrong
Thanks for taking time to read this and if you have spare time to reply and guide me I'd be ever so grateful. Can't imagine ever going back to Samsung I just love this phone

OTA Apply for V12.0.6.0

Other options try to click 'check for updated' several times, sometimes the updated will appear
Vodafone unfortunately doesn't let you OTA apply to any other firmware. You got to unlock bootloader.

Starting from halfway down!
If your phone is new, the bootloader is locked.
How to safely flash? Read the threads on unlocking the bootloader. There is very little risk provided you have learned how to do it (and not much risk even if you don't).
Warranty. I don't know. But you can always reflash stock firmware and relock the bootloader.
Most people who unlock flash Xiaomi.eu ROM. It is what I use. It's based on the Chinese firmware but heavily modified.
Banking apps and google pay work just fine

Hi there.
Admittedly, I get a bit confused with the Xiaomi ROM versions and updates.
But... As far as I can tell my phone hasn't received a system update for a very long time, my android security patch is Dated December last year and I'm still on miui 12.5.
Is this correct ? If not, how do I force the latest ROM.
My phone is on the stock ROM. Locked bootloader.

Try Belgium then outside Europe.
It doesn't work all the time, especially when you have a stable beta.
