Guys i recommend not to buy this phone as lg is really very slow in upgrading its devices so be warned before buying
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
well, lg already released an update for this phone, V10b...
Like your name says ... GOTCHAAAAAA!!! (Got You!)
I think LG is really trying to change things ...
It's worth trying.
Does the recent firmware update fix the autofocus problem when recording videos? Also, is the audio quality really as bad as gsmarena is saying?
There are still Problems with the autofocus.
10B just changed the tegra3 usage... at least ... this is what I saw.
Next update should come in near future (said LG Korea)
from my optimus 2x scenario's I would never buy another LG phone, I currently have a HTC one X, that runs flawlessly.
I went back to my original O2x the other day to see how it was, and It was diabolical, slow laggy loss of signal, terrible battery, 3g drop all the time ahahah terrible, and that was stock rom from LG, its been out for over a year now and they still havn't fixed the problems.
Good luck to the brave people who buy an LG
LG did say they will guarantee updates for all compatible phones
Can't post link but from TechRadar:
Back in February at MWC 2012, we spoke to LG regarding the Jelly Bean update and the manufacturer confirmed it would guarantee an upgrade to Android Jelly Bean for all compatible 2012 handsets.
We will have to wait and see if it delivers on that promise.
Update: A spokesperson for the firm has told TechRadar: "LG will continue to support the latest android platforms, across LG devices however at present an exact date is not yet confirmed."

Personally i'd like to see manufacturers offering the customer a choice when updates aren't possible of either switching to the latest, vanilla Android or remaining with the skinned version.
In theory every Android phone should be able to run vanilla Android?

Will third party video recording apps like this one fix the autofocus problem of the O4X?
I wait on my LG, was hard get my hands on a White atm. where i live..
And i have hox and also use my s3 right now, still i realy like that New LG.
What i realy did like on the LG was the screen, just that was worth get one.
But for them who get a phone to have for long time maybe it is risky if they dont do updates. For myself i am just happy if it works for some time till something New comes ..

It is worth buying in my opinion! I've had mine for some days now and it's wonderful.
The screen is GREAT. The phone is very fast, haven't noticed any lag yet. The only problem that I've found is the annoying autofocus when you record video. But that's it so far.
Mistaken beliefs
Hi all,
I've read the previuos post and i disagree.
I've had a LG O2X, my experience is very very good.
It 'true that the updates to LG were not good and fast, but from my direct experience I believe that this model has been among the most well-supported by the community.
With a custom ROM and a good baseband O2X it's an awesome smartphone!
I bought a 4x optimus 7 days ago and the only thing I can say is: awesome!!!
There's no comparison with SG3, in particular the screen is something impressive.
And all benchmarks against Exynos are not very representative, then we must actually see when using what are the pros and cons.
As regards the updates I also sincerely hope that LG has changed and offering a better service.
Otherwise I'm sure the community will surprise us as he did with O2X.

+1 - the 4X is brilliant. And since the v10b update 2weeks ago it's no longer hot and lasts longer. HIGHLY recommended.

Interesting, the Tegra 3 devices (One X and 4X) both use kernel version 2.6.39.4 while the Galaxy S3 uses the 3.0.15. Is there any significant change between those two kernels?
Hi,
look at this and you know why 3.0 Kernel didn't work with Tegra 3 :silly:

It's better than I thought it would be, just waiting on the right occasion to try it out properly. One thing I love is the screen. It's fantastic for viewing shots.
Did it on OTA - Quoted "Stability Improvement". To be totally honest it has been rock solid since day 1 for me with no hiccups, so I have no idea about that.

Has anyone undertaken upgrade to 4.1.2? Were there issues with stability of the camera - there seemed to be an update available which upgraded the firmware but also camera firmware but ever since upgrading there is a significant wobble or stability issue on screen
I recently upgraded to 195 sacraficing root as I didnt see a need for it really and love the Sony full stock experienced however I have now found I lost the emoji mod I had installed on it. I feel slightly extreme going through the root process for a locked bootloader for this small mod and was wondering if there was a way to get this on my device. The little boxes I get on Twitter and instagram along with the texts from my girlfriends iPhone are a bit annoying now I was used to seeng them translated. It is not a big issue I was just wondering if the is something to the me over to the jelly bean update in February.
Thanks

You don't need Jelly bean or rooted phone to write with emoij on your new device, just download free MulitLanguage keyboard from play Market and start typing. But to enable "viewing" on Twitter or Instagram of the small cute black and white things (aka emoij), then you need rooted phone (I can give you link for emoij codex on ICS) or wait for Jelly Bean firmware update later this year or early next year, -Im sorry!
anyone seen this: http://gsminsider.com/2013/11/miui-android-4-4-kitkat-february-2014/
i know there is much hate on miui. i've used it in the past on other phones and it was not a bad experience.
Nice, looking forward to try out miui once it becomes available.

I'd like to see this working, but the last phone I owned that had a fully functional, non-buggy MIUI rom was the Samsung Fascinate back in 2011. Every other phone I've owned since then (roughly 6-7 devices) have had buggy, incomplete and/or barely usable MIUI roms. As much as I hate to say it, I feel like MIUI's time has come and gone.

Hmm I never really ran into crazy bugs. The biggest issue is lack of device support, it can be a major pain the ass to get them to work on new devices.
It took forever for them to release for the nexus 4 but when they did it was pretty solid.
I hope they do release a build just so i can give it a shot, probably not a daily driver.
I have some bad news.
I'm a Chinese and I have talked with one of MIUI's employers this morning.
MIUI will officially support Nexus7(2013) running 4.4.X in the future but it will take a few months before official release. (I guess it's because of their MiPad)
Nexus 5 is not on the support list right now. (Sun Peng is always bluffing on Weibo) (And Nexus4's MIUI is supported by developers rather than MIUI)
MIUI will not release 4.4.x patchrom in the near future because only few devices running KitKat now.
So, I don't think there will be a MIUI patchrom for 4.4.X before Feb.

Yep, same here. I think the last bug free version of MIUI I ever experienced was the Virgin Mobile LG Optimus V, lol!
Then again, this is the first Nexus device I've owned after owning the S2 and S4, and I must say that this device is so much easier to mod than any other device, so we'll see.

True. Honestly though, even a perfect MIUI rom isn't going to have a place on my phone. It was great back in the Gingerbread days since stock Android wasn't really "there" yet, but I don't see what kind of advantage it could really offer over stock KitKat. In particular, I see the lack of an app drawer as a major hindrance at this point. My homescreen setup has gotten more and more efficient over the years (I'm down to 2 home screens + GNow). The last thing I want now is to have all of my apps puked out on a zillion homescreens and then try to organize it all. I realize I can use another launcher, but to me that kind of defeats the purpose of flashing MIUI in the first place.
Lets wait for it Tried miui v5 in htc desire S and it works great
And updates weekly is awesome.
had miui on htc desire, htc sensation, s2, didnt have official on nexus4....i cant imagine how good it will work on nexus 5
http://news.mydrivers.com/1/291/291827.htm might be the new look of miui v6 ...i know is just a concept but looks interesting

With note 2 miui was the only ROM that was lag free, especially when turning off the screen with CRT animation, it was the only ROM that was smooth...but not even comparable with stock n5

Today my Realme GT2 RMX3311 received the packet for the last update to UI 4.0 and A13, i see on official forum there are many problems, battery drain, mic issues and other, but other people say the opposite, any review?
Update: I updated to A13 and everything is exactly the same, hi I'm using it about 2-3 weeks and I didn't Found any issues.
No battery drain, no screen problems and the new UI 4.0 is excellent.
Don't update to a13
Battery is bad and overheating

I've been using a13 for a while now. For me it works without a problem. I did not notice any major errors
I've been using it here for around two weeks and battery lasts the same as on Android 12 in my case, and I couldn't find any big issues. Microphone seems to work fine here too, at least on calls.
I did the upgrade, seems all goes right, but, on device information, i read Realme UI 3.0 (!), Android Version 13, Build number RMX3311_11_C.06.
Clicking on "update control" i read Realme UI 4.0 | Android 13...
Is it maybe a transitional update, or what?
I've also updated to Android 13 and didn't had any issues. The things I didn't liked in Android 12 also persist in android 13, like bad automatic brightness in low light, the audio quality in videos recorded with the camera...

That's because the update was made before the realme UI 4.0 announcement. Future builds should have the correct name, but will be the same thing. (Right now you have realme UI 4.0 just with 3.0 naming).
