I'm with ATT. And I found out I have an issue with my SIM card. I'm not receiving text messages. I switched Sims with my wife and my xz1c receives messages. I went to the ATT store and they gave me a new sim but when I tried activation they said my phone is 3g based and they couldn't activate my sim on the spot. They had to put in an ATT work order and wait and see. Anyone have a similar issue? I think it's a ploy to get me to buy a new phone they were offering too.

Unlocked my Tilt from ATT to use with a T-Mo SIM card. Reboot after SIM install gave me an "E" and I could make and receive calls.
Now however, just minutes later, I am getting no service on the T-Mo network and wonder whether I am missing something.
Lil help?
Hi, all,
I have a quick question:
I was in Smith, Nevada recently, using a G1 with a Tmobile SIM card, and the phone did not get service. However, the phone did say that there was an ATT network present, and my friend's phone got reception just fine. However, when I tried to manually switch to the ATT network on my phone, I got a message saying that the sim card does not allow me to register on the network. How can I make the phone register on the ATT network when there is no Tmobile service?
Thanks,
Tekgek
Allow roaming? Best answer I got.
You could buy a cheap pay as you go att phone and swap the sim in yours.
Errrm, I think roaming is enabled. Is there a hack or something that can override the sim card's programming?
I have a friend who is on MetroPCS here in the States and he can't seem to get his SIM card to be seen by this device. It was originally meant as a going-to-college gift but has turned into more of a headache than a gift. Yes, we know that MetroPCS uses T-Mobile's towers and the Blu R1 HD is entirely compatible with it...we just don't know why his SIM won't work. Originally we had to get a SIM adapter for the Nano SIM to make it fit the MicroSIM slots, but regardless of which slot we put it in, the phone is stuck on "Emergency Calls Only".
If anyone could help, that'd be a lifesaver, as he starts school on the 22nd of August.
Things we've tried:
Going through the searching for operators function in settings->more->cellular networks
Entering different values in APNs (settings->more->cell networks->APNs)
Restarting a bagillion times
Changing preferred networks
Repeatedly tapping on which sim slot to use for data and messaging
Going into Data Usage only to not find the Cellular data option next to MetroPCS
Did you try another SIM? It's possible that the phone itself is shot. Otherwise, the SIM could be shot. Did you try the SIM in another device? It seems unlikely (however, not impossible) that the SIM and the phone just don't like each other. It's also possible that your adapter is positioning the SIM incorrectly. You should be able to get a good one by going to a T-Mobile store. They usually have a few laying around.
Doesn't Metro require you to give them the phone's IMEI before being able to use the new phone? Contact Metro CS and tell them you got a new phone that you want to use and give them the IMEI
If you alrdy did that then try using another active SIM (borrow from friend/family) and see if that works fine with the phone in case the phone is defective
I have Metro PCS and this phone. You need to call MetroPCS and give them the IMEI. Make sure you give them the right IMEI as there are 2 SIM slots on the phone - each with its own IMEI
We went to a T-mobile store to get a good adapter for free.
Thanks, we'll try this!
It worked. His phone is now setup thanks.
So I have my Verizon sim in tray 1 & my T-Mobile sim in tray 2. What I am trying to do is have the data push through the T-Mobile sim but still maintain calls and text coming in from Verizon sim. When I set Dial to sim 1 & Internet to sim 2 in the options it just shuts down the Verizon sim completely. What am I missing? Is what am trying to do not possible?
20 views and nada, come on someone has to have some input they can provide me lol
So I finally got the phone to keep both sims registered to their networks and my calls and sms work with it set to my Verizon sim but I can't get the data to push through on the T-Mobile sim!!!!! AHHHHHH
I think the Mi MIx only has 1 4G radio? So that if both SIM cards require 4G connection, only 1 can be connected at one time
I understand, this is exactly why I wanted this phone too! Where did you buy yours and how long till you received it?
No voice calls.

Can you tell me what you did? I have data and sms going through fine but no calls.
Thank you.
Has any one resolved this issue?
I recently got a VZW SIM card, and everything works when it's the only SIM in the Mi MIX...but if I also put in my Project Fi SIM...I cannot send SMS via my Project Fi SIM--which carriers my main number...even though MMS also works on my Verizon SIM card......
I recently received a Sprint Note 5 and am trying to use it on my existing MetroPCS account. I went in to the Metro store for an ESN swap, received a new sim card, yet when I popped it in my phone it says "sim not recognized" or something to that effect; also the APN settings section disappears when the Metro sim is installed (visible when Sprint sim is in, but the options are greyed-out). I've searched for almost two hours online for a solution, to no avail. I am certain that at least a few of these LTE bands are going to work on MetroPCS, but not sure why the sim registers as unrecognizable. I called Sprint and they assured both the previous owner of the phone and myself (separate calls) that the phone is unlocked. Are they lying? Did I receive a defective sim from Metro? Am I the ultimate idiot because my search parameters are faulty and this is some common sense issue? I appreciate any help you guys can offer. Love my XDA fam.
