I have the same problem...
Snap. Read somewhere else someone contacted HTC and although several people have reported it, they can't replicate the error.
Try changing this in the registery:
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\DisableSMSWakeUpEvent=0
The screen willl turn on, and you will get notification based on your settings (vibration, sound)..
Still don't know if it will wake up unlocked or not, but if you have the option to show the message onscreen when you get it, it will wake up with the options to answer and cancel, I think. Try it out
you can also dl this software

ok guys, you prob have been asked this a few times by now, but i have some question about how to get my notification light to WORK! (i have fuze btw)
i have tried the notification settings in the phone menu, i have tried reg edits but i get access denied like crazy, i have tried cabs, but i may be doing something wrong bcuz i get the gay "no related file" crap.
i have been scouring the internet now for hours, and i havent been able to get this fixed. it is late now, and i am tired.
i just need some help, i need my notification light for emails/texts for work. and i dont have it.
so, if someone could point me in the direction of a fix, i would be grateful. also, i am new to modding my phone, so....
why did htc give us a light that doesnt work is my biggest question. the only thing it lights up for is a incoming call.
For a while now, I have been getting the notifications that I have an MMS message received. But when I go to retrieve it (through the notification dropdown) it just takes me to my messaging and it shows nothing new. Doesn't even show me who the message was from so I can maybe let them know I didn't get it.
Anyone else had this problem before or know how to fix it?
No one has approached me saying "hey, did u get my pic message" so it probably was just joke stuff that dint really matter, but it's still annoying not knowing what was sent. It's like the message just disappeared or something.
I remember it working just fine before rooting my phone 2 months ago.
I am currently running SuperD 1.93 but it has been happening since I first rooted, in which my first rom was CM 4.12.xxx
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Well, isn't a fix, but have you sat down with a friend and got them to text you to make sure? You might just be getting the random notification, but no actual text. I know if this was happening to me I would rather get a random notification rather than actually missing out on a text. Also, it would be nice to know which way to address this issue.

I had a friend text me "im about to send u a picture" and got the notification, but the pic never appeared so I do not believe it is a false notice. It doesnt happen often either.

I've never tried that, but I will now. But I have wiped and reflashed my roms plenty of times, wouldn't that clear all the data anyway?
Last time I wiped and reflashed was less than a week ago...

I would guess it would, who knows, I had a ghost Gmail for weeks...
Ok so clearing the message data did not help. I sat next to a friend trying to send me a pic and it would show "Unknown: MMS Received"....I'm so lost as to what to do
bumping this as I've tried lots of things, and get this error myself too. I can at least send picture messages again, but I still can't receive.
Have you called t-mobile? I had the same problem and I tried everything. Decided to give them a call just as a last option and it was on there end.
And since you just rooted and it's happened only since you rooted I would go over everything you did.
I installed Froyo, from kies and now my notification bar isn't working, I can't get it down all the way. How to fix?
I'm facing the same problem too, now I can only access notification bar via Menu --> Notification
just upgraded to JPM
Any help with this?
Ive had the same problem, try restarting your phone and let it do its thing for about 5 - 10 minutes, then try again.
this worked for me.
hope this helps.
Are you using another dock? I had the same problem with Launcher, until I realized I had set the home button to open the notification area. When I removed that, problem fixed.
I had the same issue yesterday. Restarting the phone helped. Haven't had any issues since.
I upgraded to 2.2 yesterday and the same thing has happened to me twice and the only way to fix it is to restart the phone.
same here, crappy samsung software.
You don't by any chance have ADW.Launcher activated?
This morning I had the problem again, after updating ADW.Launcher.
ADW restarted itself after the update and that was, when I couldn't pull down the notification bar anymore. Restarted the phone and the issue is gone...
Nope, My SGS is dead standard. Hasn't happened today though... so far so good.
I had this problem for a day, but then it mysteriously dissappeared 0_0
Had the same problem, restart did the trick.
I restarted my phone yesterday and all of a sudden there's this icon + notification that I can't swipe away. I'm on the version of JB that leaked a while back. The only thing that gets rid of it is clearing data on the stock Phone app but then it comes back again after a restart. Something tells me it's on a SIM card level because yesterday when it first showed up was when I was on a trip out to the countryside where coverage was pretty bad. However I am not back in the city and it still won't go away. I rang Three but they apparently couldn't help me just because my handset isn't one they sell. Anyone know how to help?
Also, the phone is working fine other than this, incoming and outgoing calls and texts are all going through just fine.
