Tablet storage info incorrect - Off-topic

I have pretty generic android tablet (Pie). The internal storage shows two different values. It appears to display the storage amount doubled on the main storage settings page but when you click on internal storage it shows the correct storage amount. This prevents me from putting many apps on the tablet because it quickly reaches the 32GB max internal storage. Any idea why this would happen. I'm including a picture of the two storage screens to show you what I mean.

that is not double storage but storage occupied by system

if you are using android oreo then system minimum use 8 to 10 gb of storage so 11+10 = 21 gb so its basically correct.

That can't be right. When you look at device storage, in the tablet settings, in 23.32GB used of 32GB. When you click on internal storage it says 11.66GB used of 32GB, which is exactly half of 23.32. No matter what apps I add the one value is ALWAYS double the other.
Also, the values don't add up. When you click on internal storage, it shows only 8GB dedicated to system, .12GB for Photos, .5GB for Music and 23Gb for Movie and TV Apps, 6.9GB for other apps. When you total all these up, they do not equal 11.66 or 23.32, so I'm not sure what's going on.
I have multiple android devices in my home. None of them do this. None of them display conflicting values for internal storage. This tablet is the only one that does this. I have way more apps on my android phone and it only takes up 22GB. So, something is definitely not right. I even did a factory reset.

try to clear caches and reboot it may help

Panorama mode when taking pictures with the camera. Does it actually work?

I've tried it multiple times and it'll say it's stitching the pictures but then no image will actually show up in the gallery.
Do panorama shots work for anybody else?
I've had good luck with it. Just click and pan. I really like it.

The white spot in the center is smoke, but this was taken back in the SmurfCam days.
Sometimes it seems to fail, others it works. If it takes more than like 30 secs or so it'll probably fail. I've taken a number of sweet panoramas
Sent from my rooted xt860
Hmmm... It also seems to say "stitching captures" for about 45 seconds and then just returns to the camera app with no hint of a panorama having been saved anywhere.
I got it to work by switching the storage location of photos from SD card to Internal.
It seems to work every time on internal storage and not at all on the SD card.

I take that back.
I decided to move all my pictures and moved everything in the DCIM folder on my sd card to internal storage on the phone and then changed the settings in the camera to use internal storage. Panorama stopped working (it would say "stitching pictures" for 30+ seconds and then nothing would happen).... so I then switched the save location to sd card and it worked!
It seems my phone only likes to take panoramas when I set the camera to save them to a location other than where I take my usual regular single-shot pictures. Weird.
I use this feature extensively & both my still images & panorama are stored on sandisk class 4 sd card never ever it failed but I use samsung i9003

[Q] Internal SD - clearing/cleaning space

Dear friends,
I am hoping for some advice. I was looking to clear some space on my internal SD (the only storage I have) and was wondering if anyone can advise me on how to do so. Below you can see what my phones memory consists of at the moment.

As you can see there is a rather large 'other' section. Is this normal? I'm not really sure what might be in there other than the OS (RocketRom v3) and the zip files plus other odds and ends and it feels too big to be just that?
If it isnt normal then please let me know how I might be able to clean my internal SD up. I don't mind if it means reflashing the ROM.
Obviously I should just buy an external SD if I want space
Sorry for my jumbled post. I have been drinking a lovely bottle of red wine.

I think 2nd paragraph's 2nd sentence is your answer Apart from image, video, music files whatever else is there will be considered as Other. One Rom itself will be around 800MB (Rocket rom) which is almost 7% of 11GB. So, this rom+zip files+other files will be considered as Others, which will make "Others" look bigger
Have a look at this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.levelokment.storageanalyser
Very useful for detecting what's eating up your space. Maybe there are some left overs in android/data or obb. You'll recognise them by the grey icons.
Cheers, Markus
Couple of more apps.. SD Maid & Thumbnails File Deleter...for deleting thumbnails cache etc (/DCIM/.thumbnails/..)..

Managing files remotely on external sd card

Rooted device, r/w to sd card enabled (can move apps).
Trying to use airdroid to copy media onto an external sd card, but it seems to not be able to "see" the external card. There's some menu where you're supposed to be able to see the sd card (middle image, http s://lh5.googleusercontent.com/kt4HmMCgmPVR9pOIdJv9YIuuS1j1EMDxt5Sdi-lgkQJnZAe_3YzTWqfl4fDpmqOYVk49SJibsNHjHsD_o8_fJiX0V83uB44EGv4n-ttqrmI6_f-lulxw4SVT-Iu29N_yCseoVbM), but this doesn't appear. The menu reads "Open from, and lists Recent, internal storage, or sd card as options, t=with the last one not present on my device. I was wondering if this is a restriction of the amazon OS, or a restriction of my intelligence. Thanks for any help.
If anyone can recommend another way to move media onto the external card wirelessly that'd work too.
You seem to trying to include an image but it's not a publicly viewable image.
You can use a file manager app to move files around.

1) Too few posts to share links, so I broke it on purpose.
2) Yes, I can use a file manager, but I want the ease of drag and drop, wirelessly.

I believe that's marketed for devices that don't have native wifi, e.g., a camera.

Running out of memory but empty SD card..

I need some help here. I already moved all music, videos and photos to the 64GB SD card but internal memory still full and assistant constantly offers to free up space but there is nothing more to be moved. Phone seems to be showing down and some apps are warning of lack of space - but I have almost 30GB free in the SD card!
Is there a way to allow SD card to be used for app instead of only media?
How to fix this problem without rooting?
Thanks in advance!

Check apps for memory consumption (user data and cache)- click on "Internal shared storage". In most cases its safe to clean app cache memory.
Enable the developer menu, goes into the menu und far at the end : enable allow application to use external memory
It's looks on my phone
24GB internal use
80Gb of external use

Yes! I am looking for something like what you recommend!
Ok, so I enabled Developer settings and found the option below on the attached screenshot.
Is simply changing the setting all it takes to solve this problem or do I now need to remove existing apps and reinstall them so they can go in the SD card?
Visible internal memory hasn't changed much. Anything else required?

In this moment all apps are sitting in the internal memory.
Select each app and look under the point memory if you can move them to the external SD card.
Please keep in mind, that apps with a widget should be available in the internal memory ; otherwise the don't refresh or have problems during start, or not all widgets are available (like e. g. WhatsApp).
Under Pie you must disable the power saving for apps with a widget like weather, time etc....

This doesn't really help but I also can't move any apps to SD Card on my XZ1C. I did some reading and there's an option to force the SD Card to work as Internal Memory, but it's not recommended.

Storage issues

Recently, I have been trying to download some games and after 3 years of having this phone, I got a warning that my storage was full. I never bothered to check the storage of the device since I got it since I thought I wouldn't need to check it.
It said my storage was almost full, meanwhile I tried to analyze the storage files and apps and all that with 3 different apps (File Manager of Asus, Google FIles and SDmaid), and all my files occupy less than 40gb while my device says the total amount of storage my phone has is 128gb. I barely have any apps that occupy too much space on it. Also to note, this isnt the Tencent version, it's the WW, never flashed ROM on it, it runs the latest OS from Asus. How is that possible? Here is an example:

Hi, it's strange that 0b is showing for applications... The only thing I can recommend is to delete everything you don't need on your phone. "Other" takes up almost 19GB. Try to remove it somehow. I know you probably expected a different answer, but this is my solution :/ or you can reset the phone to factory settings and everything will be deleted on your phone and you will have a completely clean phone again like when you turned it on for the first time. Don't forget to back up your photos, contacts and everything you need.
