To root Openkirin ROM but don't have EMUI build no - Huawei P10 Questions & Answers

I have just installed openkirin rom from EMUI 9.0. Now I am going to install Magisk root. According to Openkirin instruction, I need to extract the RAMDISK image from the original EMUI firmware for making a patched file. I only know the EMUI version was 9.0, but do not know whether it was 9.0.1.56 or .120, or .150, or else. Are the RAMDISK images of all EMUI 9.0 firmwares compatible, or must I extract from the exact build no. of firmware? What else can I do to root the device?

Huawei P10 VTR-AL00 Rebrand to VTR-L29

Hello,
I have a Chinese Huawei P10 with the following info:
VTR-AL00
EMUI 8.0.0
Android Version 8.0.0
VTR-AL00 8.0.0.357(C00)
BootLoader unlocked
Custom Recovery TWRP 3.2.1-0
I have tried to rebrand by following many guides all of which seem to be outdated for my P10. Either the included recovery didn`t work, batch files don`t work etc etc.
Can someone please guide me step by step on what I have to do?
Thanks

PRA-LX1 Root with official Oreo 8.0.0?

Hey there,
Finally my Phone gave me a notification for downloading Oreo 8.0.0 and I was wondering if it works the easy way to root it?
My Phone is running on EMUI 5 Android 7.0 build B212 with TWRP and Magisk 16.0 Root.
I Thought about this way to get the Official Oreo Rom rooted :
- Get back to Stock Recovery
- Update to Oreo 8.0.0
- unlock bootloader again if it Relocks
- flash TWRP for Oreo
- flash Magisk via TWRP to gain root on Oreo
Do you guys think that this will work?
Thanks for any suggestion
Hi,
Yeah it should be fine with those steps.
And if you encounter any weird behavior, perform a factory reset using original Recovery.

Another question if I wanted to install a custom rom instead, which would be the most suitable between openkirin or lineageos? Currently I have emui 5.

Downgrade EMUI without SD-Card - Huawei P8 Lite - Bootloader

Hey.
I finally managed to download a stock rom for my p8 lite from update.dbankcdn.com.
Since I have Android 8.0 installed and EMUI 8.0 the partitions is different from Android 7.0 and EMUI 5.0, I tried to find any useful commands in FASTBOOT.img to see if there is a way to re-partition the partitions but I did not found anything that could help me with this. I wounder if there is a way rollback to into EMUI 5.0 again since now I have installed twrp on RECOVERY_RAMDSK and it's not possible to flash twrp for EMUI 5.0 on this partition.. I know I can use a sdcard or use an older version of HiSuite and block the upgrade since the latest version does not support to downgrade anymore (OVE) or using sideload but I am curios how I can rollback without an sd-card or adb sideload and get the proper partitions for 5.0 manually via fastboot, is this possible?

Just found:
From the URL: "Latest update for several Huawei & Honor devices adds Anti-Rollback protection "
Explains why it does not work with either method for rollback. Must be a workaround for this so I really need help.

I think you are asking the question in the wrong thread. This one is for the first P8 Lite, the 2014 model I think, and from what you are saying it looks like you have a P8 Lite 2017 version.
You should go to that thread and ask there any questions you may have.
