Hi guys, noob question.
I've a P9 Plus VIE-L09 (Android 7.0 - EMUI 5.0.3) rooted with SuperSU v2.82-SR3
I need to unroot and completely remove SuperSU from the phone.
In addition to uninstalling it from the application menu, what I have to do?
Thank you in advance
Hi, after some research I may have found a possible solution from this post by @osm0sis.
So if I understand correctly to remove completely SuperSU from my phone I have to flash stock system.img from TWRP.
My build number is VIE-L09C432B387 and I've an unlocked bootlader.
I need to extract system.img from the firmware "VIE-L09C432B387 FullOTA-MF" and then flash it, right? I will not lose TWRP or re-lock my bootloader?
Please it's very important, thanks.
Guys nobody can help? I read here on the site that I can manually remove root by deleting some files located in the /system directory.
Could be a solution? Thanx.

Hi
Sorry if this is an obvious question.
I am about to root and before rooting, I have a choice of these 2.
1. Install Huawei P9 Stock Recovery for Marshmallow
2. Install Huawei P9 TWRP for Marshmallow
All the rooting manuals say TWRP, but I do not want a custom ROM
I want root just to - move apps between system <-> user; - to remove bloatware; - have access to some system permissions
I would be ok with Huawei stock recovery, right?
I am not really sure what the difference is. Is "Stock Recovery" by Huawei? I would prefer Huawei supported things if there is no downside
Any information would be great. Thank you.
With the Huawei stock recovery, you cannot install custom zip files. You definitely need TWRP to root.
Ohh ... ok.
Thank you very much for the response.
Sorry for one more question that is probably obvious -
After rooting would it re-instate the warranty if I put back stock recovery and maybe locked it again?
This is assuming that I can still keep root privileges if I do that - if not there is no point.
Thank you for any information.

If you read the notice when unlocking the bootloader, I think that's when you know that the warranty is void. To lock it, simply flash back Huawei stock recovery and also flash the stock Huawei ROM full package .app file or use eRecovery.
Thanks again for the information.
If I flashed TWRP, then rooted, and then flash custom recovery back, would it still be rooted?
Edit: For anyone else - yep still rooted after doing that.
So I finally got 4.0 flashed with TWRP and SuperSU working. Now I try to install our companies email solution (AirWatch agent) and of course it won't run on a "compromised" device with root access. What's the best way to go forward from here? Do I need to reflash to get rid of evidence of root? Can I keep nougat and TWRP or do I need to revert somehow and wait for the OTA update? Thanks in advance
Edit - also, will I have to relock the bootloader? Sorry for all the questions, little new at all of this
Hi everybody
I browse various forums and sites and I can't find a definite answer to my question. I have a model (VTR-L29C432) with stock rom (B123). Bootloader is unlocked, root and TWRP (3.1.0-0-vtr) installed.
How can I upgrade my system to (B164)? I downloaded three files using FirmwareFinder (update, update_data_full_public, update_full_VTR-L29_hw_eu).
Can I flash them with recovery (TWRP) ?
Sorry for my english (google translator)
Please help me.
Regards
Update while keeping your personal files isn't possible with rooted phone. You can use HWOTA to install a new version but all your data will get lost.

Thank you for your answer. I'm getting an update
Hello,
I have a P10 with TWRP, rooted and bootloader unlocked. Now I Received new version.
My current is VTR-L09 8.0.0.373(C02) and
new is VTR-L09 8.0.0.378(C02) - there is face unlock feature.
Probably because there is TWRP normal(automatic) update doesn't work. After restar process jums into TWRP and doesn!t continue.
Question is how to install?
Doesn!t metter If I lost unlock, root and all. But how to revert to stock(new) version?
I am expecting that comlete instalation is downloaded in phone, I have current new struture(download) inside:
New folder(files) are in:
\data\update\HwOUC\140830\
update_data_full_public.zip 87.66MB
update_full_CTR-L09_vodafone_default.zip 921.22MB
update.zip 2.00GB
\data\update\HwOUC\updateauth\
update_auth.sa 1.45K
the structure inside the zip files is not normal as we have for twrp flashing.
Any hint, idea, how to do this?

The version that is intended for me(unlocked, root, twrp) doesn¨t work. And there is no additional progress from developer.
Any other idea how to update unlocked phone to new version?
you have to simply re flash the original recovery (to replace TWRP)...then you do the update then,re flash TWRP
Hi, i've been following this guide :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-plus/how-to/how-to-rebrand-p10-plus-to-vky-l29c432-t3794256
on how to rebrand my huawei p10 plus. My brand is/was vky-l29c576. After following the guide i flashed twrp and unlocked the bootloader.
I wiped my system and tried to flash the c432 firmware with hwota8 method that is shown there. but always when i try to install hwota8_update.zip the twrp instantly closes and the phone reboots to huawei erecovery... when i unlock the phone again and go to twrp again i see in the log i have an error 9: http://prntscr.com/kx66jd
So right now im stuck with a p10 plus without any firmware and with only twrp installed.
Just to clarify my phone was on nougat 7.0 and i was trying to rebrand into an oreo
Anyone who has any idea on what to do? or this phone is a goner.
Hwota8 was made for Oreo (Android 8). You need a procedure with Hwota instead. Check e.g. these: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/how-to/huawei-p10-debrand-rebrand-update-guide-t3691013 and https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-mate-9-flash-update-package-t3593108
