Factory reset not working in moto z3 (beckham, stock image) - Moto Z3 Play Questions & Answers

I have a moto z3 play (device name beckham) which I can't factory reset now. What happens is when I go to Settings > Advanced > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset) but the phone simply restart (reboots) back. I also tried going to fastboot mode and running the command from there and the behavior ends up the same. My third attempt was to just do like this post but when I run the `fastboot` commands it fails with the error:

**Edit** All attempts were made in both USB 2.0 and 3.0
Tried in another pc (all of them linux) and also with older version (r30 and r25.0.4) of fastboot, the error gets even stranger since each time gives a different output for same input:

[Q] Bricked moto g xt1068 won't flash anything from fastboot, help!

Hello, my moto g xt1068 was in a bootloop, I've tried to flash back a stock firmware but it always give me an error like this "(bootloader) | Failed to erase partition (bootloader) Failed to flash partition logo | FAILED (remote failure)" and now it has only the "AP fastboot flash mode", no system and no recovery.
Some more info:
- My bootloader is unlocked;
- I can't boot any recovery using fastboot boot command, I got the error "Incomplete boot image for booting" (cwm,twrp, stock)
- My partitions are "raw" I suspect this is the main problem
- I've tried using windows and osx
- I've tried using fastboot and mfastboot
- I'm not able to use RSD lite, it' doesn't recognize my device
- I've tried a lot of stock firmware, no difference
Please help me, there is anything else to try? Is my phone dead (maybe emmc failure)?

This is technically not an answer....
Which ROM where you using when your phone began boot looping (stock or custom). What you should have done was try a complete factory reset(did this a couple of times to my xt1068 when it was in boot loop). Can i ask the names of the stock firmware you used (the full information about them) and the commands you used. Let me see if i can help you

I had a stock firmware 5.02 with stock recovery, can't remember the exact version but i guess it was the "retde" one
I tried to wipe cache and userdata but it won't get out of the boot loop (did you mean this by full factory reset?)

Yes, right, means that the computer recognizes the phone.
When you flash stock via fastboot, gives you errors?
Have you tried with the easy installer tool? (this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/official-stock-firmware-5-0-2-lxb22-46-t3019612)

Everything failed, very strange.
Try to update your drivers, and the try to flash again.
If you can, try with an other computer, and an other cable data.

Already did this, 1 windows 8.1 PC, 1 windows 10 PC, 1 virtual windows 7 pc, 1 mac book osx 10.10, drivers from motorola, multiple data cables, single adb and composite adb no difference

Small update, managed to get rsd lite to work but no difference, flash fails anyway.

I have the same problem. Anybody solved it?

The first error appears, when flashing bootloader (motoboot.img). Your bootloader might prevent to be flashed or maybe downgraded?
Try flashing fastboot files and skip the motoboot.img step. I would recommend to flash in terminal step by step, don' t use this script. Flash files according to the content of Stock Rom folder.

You must unlock the bootloader if you are trying to downgrade.

The directory is your post says 5.0! That is a downgrade and that is why it fails! You must flash same version if you don't unlock the bootloader.

How can I find the version? I bought the unit and it was not lit without charge and now looks like this

This command will tell you everything that is needed to flash the right firmware. It will have the android version, and the correct firmware by carrier.

Well the fingerprint is correct. Yes unlock your bootloader and try again. Unlocking the bootloader erases the phone, backup before doing it.

Qdloader 9008 is a hard brick. There is no way to fix that. You would have to send it to motorola.

This so ... it binds there then off the screen appears the Qdloader 9008 restarts and so on ... I can access the bootloader without problems but when I type fastboot commands happens mistakes. there comes a time that is soon caught in motorola and not out of it. I'll have to send for motorola same?

I can access the bootloader ... more can not access the recovery.
It appears the Motorola logo and the screen goes black when the screen goes black before restarting the device appears in PC drivers with qualcomm driver for me would be a hard brick.
Come on I enter the bootloader and tried the unlock command bootloader..Deu right.
I tried an error downgrade remote failure and says it is not possible to make the downgrade..como if the bootloader was still locked.
I try version 5.0 remote error failue the same mistakes for 5.1 and 6.0
All possible forms already tried .... fastboot..mfastboot v1 and v2.

And when it comes to command "erase customize" and "erase clogo", it giving me this error:

YES the command WORKS! finally back to stock..
But one question here, in my fastboot it still shows my software status is modified..
Is there any chance to fix it? I've flash the June patch...
If I already relock the bootloader but remain the software status as modified, will it affect my Google Pay/Play Store Protect?
I just really need Google Pay to work on my phone... thanks to EVERYONE who've helped me!

I flashed the stock rom yesterday but the device bootloader is still unlocked. I thought there's no way to relock the bootloader so I copied my backed up photos and apps from pc to phone and started using the device with unlocked bootloader. So if I use your commands won't this reinstall the whole rom once again ?

I have tried all of these and my bootloader is still unlocked. I run command fastboot reboot and I still get the annoying ass message from motorola telling me I have a bad id key and that the device is unsafe. Any new help?

sim você pode flashear o patch de julho, yes u can flash the july patch

Hello all so I unlocked my boot loader and then I think something odd happened BC it's saying its locked buy still seems to be unlocked.
