[Audio mod] [V2] Viper4Android [Nougat]

Hey guys!! so earlier I have come up with Dolby Atmos mod for Samsung Nougat devices, but it still bugged me that Viper4Android was not working!! So after countless hours of brainstorming, I finally got viper4android to work on Nougat!!
So here you go!! Also works with my Dolby Atmos!
Tested devices:
- S6 edge+
- Note 5

Requirements:
- Samsung device
- Nougat rom (N-lite V3 rom users, please wait for V4 rom. Pre-installed busybox on V3 interferes with viper driver installation)
- Rooted by Magisk (Dolby does not need root. Only viper needs root by magisk)
Installation instructions:
- Flash attached viper zip file and UPDATE zip file in TWRP. Users already using this mod, please see update instructions below.
- Reboot
- Install Busybox by Meefik here - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.meefik.busybox&hl=en
- Open Viper4android app and install drivers if it prompts.
- Enjoy!! Flash DolbyAtmos zip if you want
Update instructions:
- Uninstall Viper4android drivers from the menu in Viper4android app.
- Flash the update zip.

Oh it doesn't? That's weird, I did notice some change in sound, but I didn't bother much cos I found it sounds worse

I am using Dev-base QB4.. Yeah some N-lite users have said that it does not work for them.. Maybe he changed something that is required by viper? I will talk to rainbow_dash and see what's up.

Okay, so I talked to rainbow_dash and apparently he had some other busybox built into the v3 version of his rom, that's not compatible with viper. And even if you install the meefik one, it reverts back to his busybox after a reboot. And he has agreed to fix that in the upcoming N-lite v4!

I don't see remote service in my Samsung phone, maybe it's something specific to your phone. Try freezing this remote service using Titanium backup or something like that, if you don't use it...

no, i mean when open dolby atmos, eq work well but if i press back button to back home, dolby atmos not fuction. I ever use Dolby Digital and when pressing back to back home, Dolby eq not fuction and written "remote service stopped". although there is no such statement in your Dolby atmos but it happened exactly. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding and my bad english. btw thanks for your job :good:

INSTALLATION INFO
Make sure your phone is rooted by magisk. If it is rooted by SuperSU, then flash Magisk first.
Open Magisk manager at least once.
Take nandroid backup [Recommended]
Download the main zip and update zip from Post 2
Transfer both to phone.
Flash main zip first and update zip second via recovery
Reboot your phone
Install Busybox by Meefik from here
Open Busybox app and hit install
Once done installing busybox, open Viper4android app and install drivers if prompted
Reboot after installing the drivers.
You can now remove the busybox from the busybox app (for better compatibility with apps like titanium backup)

DBEngine(Not Flashable).zip: Contains All ViPER4Android Profiles and IRS
Important Instructions TO ADD IRS and Profiles [Optional]:
Extract DBEngine.zip.
Open Viper, Menu>UI Settings >Expert.
Go to headphones tab, go to Impulse Responses, make sure its Enabled, then click on Impluse Response, it will tell you that the folder is empty and this will create a folder for you.
Extract DBEngine.zip
Copy the IR responses from the Kernel folder and profile from Profiles folder, and paste IRS in " /sdcard/ViPER4Android/Kernel/" and profiles in "/sdcard/ViPER4Android/Profiles/"
Check the IRS and Profiles in V4A, and Get the divine sound.

There was an issue with DB engine add on zip where the profile folder was not named correctly. I have fixed it and updated the DB Engine add-on zip.. Just extract the zip and put the two folders inside it into ViPER4Android folder in your internal memory

Infinity F2 is rooted with SuperSU. I have already mentioned that this only works (or is known to work) on roms rooted with Magisk.

Hi. I made my mods based on port of Dolby Atmos from HERE.
Need custom recovery adapted for 8.0(oreo)(recommend TWRP 3.2.0-0+)
Dolby Atmos Oreo mods​*new sound*
Mods work with magisk and also with supersu. Combination with Viper FX 2.5.0.5 give you simply wonderfull sound. All build simply different . Need select for self more compatable. Maybe temporary bootloops after reboot from recovery , dont worry try reboot else one(only one). Sometimes on roms with magisk root is lost. Do reboot. Mods which with Viper's prepared can install via TWRP and then can install ViperFX 2.5.0.5 as ordinary application. So in magisk roms you can delete Dolby via magisk manager and Viper FX from rom settings .
Who want to get mod with SonyMusic&ViperFX&DolbyAtmos can add to DolbyAtmos&ViperFX simply Sony Music application from here .

Need update Sony Music after start.
How install:
Install mod via TWRP. If you select mod with Viper need after start system start at first Viper then player and then Dolby. Now you can do settings of sound. Will may be bootloop. Try else one after hard reset.
Notice. You can have issues with Viper's work. In this case you have a solution by@docnok63(click link) . More info in main thread.
How uninstall:
For using magisk root roms:
Mods with Sony Music Player that you want to restore system completely please use backup from recovery or flash your rom without wipes.
For mods without Sony Player you can at first delete Dolby module in magisk and then use Viper's uninistaller that delete Viper and restore system files.
For using supersu preferable use backup from recovery or flash your rom without wipes.

I said SEPARATED it mean ViperFX excluded. i was tested and Viper doesnt work, only dolby worked properly, latest NOS Official 8.1.0, rooted with Magisk 15.3

How did the installation go? When does this pop-up message occur? Does the dolby and the viper work? If yes , you try freeze this service in Titanium Backup.

Working Dolby Atmos and Viper 4 Android official on Pie/Q

For those of you still looking for a port of Dolby Atmos, guitardedhero is back developing his Atmos port now for Pie and Q
It's still in the testing phase, but it works for me!

Scroll to the latter pages for all the interesting stuff.
IMPORTANT:
The port should be installed on a cleanish system, in particular remove existing DolbyDigital and/or Viper4Android through Magisk first.
It works on custom roms! But: Miui *might* be a little more finicky! You can ask for help in guitardedhero's topic.
Best sound with Dolby Atmos and Viper4Android combined, try guitardedhero's ViperAtmosRedux linked below.
This will install both Atmos and V4A official, with two seperate icons for Dolby Atmos and V4A in your appdrawer or homescreen in one go.
THIS SHOULD BE FLASHED IN MAGISK! After flashing the file in Magisk, reboot and profit!
*UPDATE*
If AtmosViperRedux doesn't work (for instance Dolby Atmos doesn't open), see guitardedhero's thread linked above, where newer Dolby Atmos and other mods are on offer, namely in this Google Drive shared folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1QZlkTe8Mt_ZJ7e0tUXthJ5a0hhvpZN7a?usp=sharing
I am not going to copy other people's writing, but read the txt file in the root, it will explain what's there and how to install it.
I will say this in short: flash any or several of the mods in Magisk (dont reboot), flash ACDB (in Magisk), reboot, and thats it. ACDB (Audio Configuration DataBase) will be used to KILL any sound configuration present and instead with each reboot neatly configure any soundmods that are made to support ACDB. This means for instance Viper4Android and Dolby Atmos work nicely together. This works VERY robust, no crashes or anything here.
Removing of sound mods is easy too: just remove the module in Magisk and reboot.
Word of warning: I have yet to encounter anyone getting this ACDB to work with MIUI (and one guy that didn't!), and I have not tried it myself with MIUI. Use at your own risk!
I use Lineage OS 17.1 official with this and it works for me, it also plays nice with AudioFX. AudioFX will need to be turned off though for Atmos and Viper to start processing.
*UPDATE2*
I have added the two files you could try here , namely VIPERAtmos_REdux-0.7-ACDB.zip and ACDB-0.4.zip. Flash them BOTH in Magisk (order doesnt matter, no need to reboot in between flashing the two). Then reboot and you should have a working Viper4Android and Dolby Atmos!
Having said all that, if you should encounter a bug that after making a phonecall dolby and viper processing stops, there is a fix. Download RSSP.zip and flash that in Magisk. That will delete all the old sound settings. THEN REMOVE IT, or it will kill sound settings every boot! Reflash VIPERAtmos_REdux-0.7-ACDB.zip and you're good to go. Yes, this happened to me.

yes ! it works very well , "ViPERAtmos_Redux-0.10" and "DolbyAtmos_Axon7_Oreo_Unity_2.20.18" on my RN7 Rom developer MUI 11 (20.1.21):good:

Both Dolby Atmos and V4A don't work at all on my RN7 with Xiaomi.eu 20.1.21, even with selinux set to permissive.
Edit: tried it on latest Pixel Experience rom + Magisk 20.3 and it works now

I only tried DTS: Headphone X version because it has the equaliser and special improvements to headphones and a long list of profiles for specific headphone brands etc.
You will want to have Viper4Android too as it just makes things better . So what i did is just install the ViperAtmos redux from the OP making sure it works (if dont have it already on your phone of course), then in your RECOVERY (Magisk failed to flash this properly) flash the DTS Zip downloaded from link above, using recommended settings. Then, flash Audio Modification Library 2.5. I did this straight after so first download it from Magisk downloadable modules or elsewhere. Watch it patch both DTS and V4A to make sure. Reboot and presto.
Now your Atmos is dead, but you have a working V4A and DTS, at least i did. The DTS app is called Audiowizard. If you want to go back to ViperAtmos, just flash the DTS zip in your recovery again, it will neatly uninstall. Reboot and reflash ViperAtmos in Magisk, reboot again and it should work again. I did all this to test and it worked for me. However, lets just say i think DTS sounds better, a little less thick and more spatial, you decide.
Words of warning: The authors say stock roms and MIUI in particular you WILL get problems (such as bootloops and no show of the app), dont bother to try! Also, to get it to work your model name changes to an Asus type phone, this cant be helped. As a result you will need to reinstall banking apps that think you've got a new phone, i reinstalled my banking apps they work again no problems. Uninstalling DTS should put things back the way they were.
Flashing DTS: risk of trouble is higher than with the ViperAtmosRedux! You have been warned! All i can say is, i have DTS now on my phone and i dont miss Atmos

Sorry i see your poste right now , thank you for your help , i us an aosp rom ( crdroid ) and finally dts work for me after double restart and sound in player work normally with dts sound mod , but if i change anything like profile on dts app nothing will change in sound its stay on (normal profile) , for me dts is the best for earphone ( in speaker i think is bad or the sound stay the same like any sound mod installed )
Dolbydp is the best for speakers but dts is better in earphone than dolby.

yes but nothing will change ,the sound still the same ... not a problem for me i will stay on dolby digital its working perfectly on rom i am using (crdroid)

Unfortunately Dolby Atmos doesn't work on new developer ROM 20.2.27
Viper 4 Android works fine

Just found that on LineageOS you had to turn off AudioFx app (and it sometimes turns on by itself it seems), before any processing occurs. Is there an audio improvement app on crDroid? Turn it off!

Hmm, can you start the app or is there just no processing? In any case, go to thread linked in OP, improvements have been made to Dolby and Viper involving an audiolibrary similar to Audio Modification Library by guitardedhero that you could try.

I am trying to install both files in the OP. Installation finish sucessfully, but I can't open atmos app.
Is there anyone facing this issue?
My handphone is RN7 with global stock ROM (android 9), and MIUI 11.

Me either. I can't run Dolby Atmos. Viper is working fine. I did set selinux to permissive but the result was the same.
I'm running AEX Q on a Redmi Note 4X.

OMG, DTS is awesome! It was super easy to install. I only flashed the DTS zip through Magisk and that's it. I'm not using any other audio modification together.
I'm also running AEX 10 only my mido.

Have you turned off MIUI Sound Enhancement?

Atmos does not open at all, V4A opens and processes audio for like 10 seconds and then it gets disabled until next reboot , i'm on PixelExperience+ Android 10 , Miui Sound Enhancer is disabled and SELinux is set to permissive ... is there anyway to deal with this ?[
EDIT : V4A works fine, it was getting overridden by spotify EQ which i forgot about , Atmos still doesn't even open tho

Question Any Anx camera module for Redmi Note 11 Custom Roms ?

I had installed ppui android 12L and crdroid 8.smth on my Redmi note 11. Everything was working fine until I came across the camera. It was poor as hell. The quality was just bad and nothing else. I tried to take a picture of my assignment but the text quality was unclear and it looked like the picture has been taken from a Nokia feature phone with 2 megapixels. Even my friend was having trouble reading the document. I've been using miui documents feature a lot for my assignments and research papers. Then for the sake of availing that specific feature 'documents', I flashed almost every module of anx camera along with miui core services but they didn't work for me. Now I'm back on miui Leon OS port ROM which I hate the most because of stock Miui user interface. Is there any solution to install anx camera module on Redmi note 11 android 12 custom ROM ?? If there is any please help me
There is an Indian YouTuber "Tech Office", he often uploads custom ROM videos for miui devices. I have posted many comments regarding this issue but he hasn't replied to my single comment.
Why I'm requesting with such long briefings? Probably because I just can't get enough of stock android 12 buttery smooth experience

I tried to use that one too, but I was gettin the same results. Also there is no ultrawide and macro lens support in gcam (the versions I've installed). If there is any version packed with all features, good quality, kindly give me a link. Thank you so much

There is a trcamera app search it on google and you will find its official website.
It has all the camera modes as well as many other features. Its basically a gcam port.

So today I flashed ppui and installed this camera. I have also loaded xml configuration file and the quality was way better than the official miui stock camera as I cross checked some photos that I've captured before flashing ppui. But then my heart shattered once again becuase the video mode was just pitch black and it forced the camera to force shutdown.

I didn't use any xml file in fact I barely use camera app so never thought of playing around with different xml configs.

Using this rom

I used the same rom. But after seeing the video mode crashing, I went straight to miui official site and downloaded the official android 12 beta recovery update. Its few hours since I have flashed this rom. So far it is so good. Also kindly let me know if video mode is working on your ppui 4.6

Hi OP, have you tried ANX for RN10? There wasn't officially one but as far as I'm aware someone managed to get ANX to work, and RN11 and RN10 have very similar specs to one another including the cameras

Yeah dude, I did try RN10 module along with miui core services on my RN11 spes. It didn't work either. All I got was a pitch black camera.

Oof, a real shame. Maybe we could wait to have an official ANX to release for this device. In the meantime as a suggestion to stock camera replacement, you can try to use BSG Gcam. I use the 8.1 MGC from here. Most stuff works here including the video

Thank you so much mate for this link, I will try this also. Currently I'm on rice droid and using MGC 8.1 with xml configuration I just found randomly. It is all great.

I couldn't find official anx camera for the spes, I am running evo x with andriod version 13 in my spes, can you put a link or something for that?
