Probleme weather information - Google Pixel 5 Questions & Answers

Hi,
Why the is not updating or even not showing.
Whether it's the princial launcher or the Lawnchair it's the same thing.
Thanks !

nobody ?

Apparently yeah.
This is an issue that I haven't seen before.
Hate to say it, but a factory reset would probably fix it.
You could also try dirty flashing (remove the -w flag in the flash-all) the factory image

That happens to me occasionally perhaps once or twice a week. I keep another weather app on a far home screen for when that happens and just scroll over. It usually comes back within a few hours. If you're rooted then this might not apply.

There is no less radical way ?
Apparently it's a worry that excites some.

[Q] What happened to my HTC One?

Sorry for the vague title, but I couldn't think of a concise way of describing this.
I have a T-Mobile HTC One with the GPe ROM installed on it. I'm on 4.4.2 and using ART. I woke up this morning to find my phone in a boot loop. It would come up with the screen that shows the "Google" logo and the icon showing my phone is unlocked, remain on that screen for longer than normal, then reboot and do it again before getting to the actual ROM boot sequence.
I held down the power button to shut the phone off. When I turned it back on, it made it to the ROM boot, where the four colored circles fly around, but then came up with a screen asking for my disk encryption password. I've never set up encryption on the phone. I didn't want to try passwords I use in case this was some kind of phishing, though I'm not sure how that would be possible. At this point I wasn't really in the mood to do much troubleshooting so I did a factory reset from the bootloader and it seems fine now.
I'm just wondering if anyone knows what happened.

I wasn't planning on switching back to it. But that's not really answering my question about if anyone knows what happened. Unless you're saying that this is a known problem that happens to people who use ART, but it sounds more like you're just saying since I was using ART and something went wrong, it's a good chance that was why.

What most likely happened is ART corrupted the system and it forced a bootloop. You may have to full wipe and reflash. I would also advice to stay away from ART. It is not made for users.

I did a factory reset and so far everything is fine. Are you saying there might still be an issue and I should wipe and reflash to be safe?

I would just to be safe. Mainly with the pre-Alpha tag of the ART compiler. I mean it may not even make it to be official.

Flashlight always on problem

Ok, so, I've had this for a while now... I've searched for solutions, found people with the same problem, but no definite answers, so I thought one of you guys can help me.
My flash (camera) light is always on. By always, I mean ...when the phone itself is on, i.e. the light doesn't go off until i turn the phone off... ALWAYS. The light is not at it's full strenght, it's somewhat hard to notice during the day for ex., but I just don't know how to turn it off.
I thought maybe that some app might be using it, but after checking into it, I don't think that's the case here...
So, any solutions or at least ideas on how to aproach this? Thanx...

then maybe try downloading other flashlight apps from play and doing the same thing?
I have torch app that comes with CM 10, and I've tried the thing, nothing...
I doubt that it will be different with other apps, but I'll try them too. Thanx.
Ok, just noticed one majpr thing - the flash is on even when the phone is turned off!!! Not sure what that means...
Btw, tried with 5 different app store apps, no change.
Same problem with stock ROM?
Haven't tried that yet... It's a major pain in the ass. And even if it resolves it, I'm not going back to stock, for sure.
But, if it is gone on stock, and then doesn't come back on new CM flash, then it could be worth it. (even if it's double pain in the ass)
But, I doubt that will be the case. I am thinking more and more that the problem is hardware orientated.
As for the time before I migrated to CM, I don't remember.
Anyway, thanx, I'll think about doing it if I have the time.

It's not that hard to try it, just to know if it's software or hardware related.
Make a full backup in recovery, then flash stock with Odin.
See if problem is solved.
If not, it's probably HW related.
Now you can just flash recovery and restore your backup if you don't have plans to bring it in for service.
If it's fixed, then it's probably best to make a clean cm install anyway.
Hope you'll find a solution.

I suppose my problem was hardware related (phone went through A LOT), but for you... Sorry, don't know.
You should definitly object to the seller, if you are in position. It's not a small problem.

Smart Lock Settings Disappeared?

I am running an XZ1 Compact US version stock and locked bootloader. I am on the 47.1.A.12.205 firmware and when I go to smart Lock in settings it is blank. Has anyone else had this issue?
Trying to upload screenshots but cannot currently.

Apparently the smartlock feature has been fixed in the latest firmware update.
But if you want to see the page before you update, open settings\lock screen & security, scroll to the bottom and disable smart lock (google) under trust agents, reboot the phone, go back to trust agents, enable smart lock (google), now go back to the smart lock settings and they will be visable.
Latest firmware has not fixed the issue, at least not for me. Smart lock settings still are blank after every reboot. I still have to use the trust agent trick and reboot again.
htc 10, 7.1.2 LOS ROM, same issue here.
after trying everything mentioned, nothing worked.
so I downloaded a newer google play services via apkmirror
it actually froze the device when trying to enter smart lock... thus I went to apps and uninstalled back to the previous version.
bingo bango we have smart lock settings.
worth a try, you lose no data, and is quicker than clearing cache

U should wait and see if it lasts...
We already know how to make it appear again. The problem is that after a few days, it goes back empty again.

I've been checking it multiple times, I'll report in a few days. This was just something that worked for me and shared. :good:
. Also different phones, but where's the harm in trying to help?

Smart lock is broken. It holds 'trusted devices' for a couple of days, sometimes only hours. It then resets itself and goes back to a blank page. Google don't seem to be interested in fixing it and although Sony keep up with the security updates, it's not covered by that. Don't hold your breath fir a fix anytime soon.

Hey, sorry for not posting sooner, totally forgot.
I hadn't been checking it, but I only use the on body detection. Is the issue that it is blank AND the services stop working, or is it the blank page problem only?
Onbody detection has been working for me since last posting but as mentioned, forgot to keep checking for blank page. Right now I checked and it isn't blank, however, I do flash gapps relatively often to update the apps. I last did this 2 days ago and I'm thinking that is why it isn't blank right now, but I do feel this is a Google issue as it's on multiple devices and my "method" was just another temp. way around the issue.
I will keep checking daily and post again, (I'll try not to forget again) but I do feel it will be blank soon. I wish we could find a permanent solution, but seems that is on Google.
Didn't mean to stir anything up in the thread here, I was just posting what my phone behavior was.
I'll turn on trusted places and see if that continues to work like Onbody has.
I've been checking multiple times a day since my last posting.
So far it hasn't disappeared, but maybe it has something to do with rebooting?
Clearly I don't reboot often.
Well... At least Android Pie fixed this issue... It was about time.

S10 Random reboot problem.. :crying: hellllllp

hello guys
I have an issue on my S10 and thats just rebooting randomly, even sometimes when im not using it and its standby on the desk.
i search about it and saw someone elese have same problem, so i want to know what is the problem and how to fix it.

i just change my android version to 10 and its not fixed..
i tried home csc and csc files and even tried pit files too..
please hellllp
thanks
Did you try a data factory reset? It might be a hardware issue, I would take it to a local repair shop or contact Samsung on it.

get the factory firmware from sammobile.com and flash it in Odin. be sure to factory reset from within the settings first or the FRP might crop up. This is the nuclear bomb method that 99% of the time fixes any glitches caused by software. You might have a hardware issue, but this will help rule that out

I had this issue with rooted Android 9, too. But it it very strange you get this problem on Android 10 because the kernel panic problem is fixed there. When you are not rooted, you should not have this problem anyway. Try restore your software in Odin like the other users already suggested.

Please let me know if this has worked for you. I'm having a similar problem that only started when i updated to android 10.
I have a totally stock, Verizon S10. Never had a problem with it on 9. After updating i started noticing after about 8-12 hours phone starts getting very sluggish, gets hot, has trouble even doing processor intensive things like opening camera and taking a picture without it crashing back to the OneUI launcher. Launcher would show up blank and take 5-10 seconds to restore my icons and widgets. Lock Screen lags really bad and face rec hardly works if at all. Phone gets really hot and if i look at the CPUs (Antutu BM) they are usually all maxed out.
A reboot fixes everything and then it will be fine again for another 8-12 hours and then, like clockwork, it starts up again. I've done a factory reset with data restore. Didnt fix it. Did another one without data restore and it is still happening. Would an Odin flash be different than a factory reset from the settings menu?

I think I may be onto something. Do you have any battery monitoring apps? I had Accubattery, better battery stats, and gsam battery monitor installed. Gsam and BBS had battery_stats permissions granted via adb. I was beginning to wonder if they were causing some kind of memory drain so I wiped their data and uninstalled them. Immediately after that I rebooted and after 46 hours of uptime there was absolutely no problem. Phone flies and runs cool as ice.
I'm currently installing them one at a time and waiting 48 hours after each install to see if and when the problem comes back.
---------- Post added at 12:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:06 PM ----------
And I'd just like to add that when my phone starts acting up it gets worse and worse to the point it won't even unlock and go to the home screen. Then it will actually reboot itself. I assume it panicked because it just doesn't have enough ram to complete any tasks.
so maybe its about the battery for you? btw my problem still alive
Guys, I got the same problem, did you guys find a way to fix it? Just realised today that even the system data, i.e fingerprints have been corrupted, what exactly is happening and how to fix this, it has been driving me crazy for the past couple of months.

Random reboots and bootloops

Once and and while my Pixel 5 reboots and gets stuck in a bootloop. It happens while I listen to music with YouTube Music on a bluetooth ear phones or search for updates on the Play Store or nothing at all. I have no idea what is causing this.
I suspect one app called ProCall Mobile but I can't really test for two reasons: 1st it happens to randomly, weeks without one, than two in a row, than nothing for a month, or for few days, 2nd I need the app for my job and can't just remove it for testing.
I'm really annoyed by this, I also can't reset the phone because of reasons. Any ideas how can I narrow it down?
Sounds like something is causing a kernel panic, and it's hard to say what. The best thing I could really recommend is a complete factory reflash, but that requires an unlocked bootloader. I believe there may be a way to use ADB and USB Debugging to get a log dump, but I have no idea how to do that or how to read it.

Nope. If it's your phone, you don't have to keep any app on it. I have never experienced bootlooping or forced reboot on P5. Ask them for a work phone or tablet. It's not like old phones are expensive.

Also nope. You can back the entire phone up on google, data reset and reinstall everything.
Try force stop and clear cache in app.
Uninstall reinstall app.
Remove all unused apps.
Check Battery Usage
Go to Dev Options and turn on System Tracing and other debuggin features. I highly doubt you will be able to figure it out from there, but it may help others.
