I recently got my AT&T S21U from Samsung and I activated the included AT&T 5G sim card from the box.
I received a phone call from someone using an iPhone 12 pro and noticed that the voice call quality was kinda bad. I felt that its not on HD voice, its far from what I remember when I first used HD voice (very clear and amplified). this make me check AT&T video call from the dialer and its not there, the video call icon under the name of my contacts are grayed out. "video call unavailable. use voice call" every time I click it, I only used at&t video call once with my s10+ before. I wonder if any at&t user having the same issue? at&t still offering at&t video call right?
searched about this online and read on at&t forums suggest full restore and if still not working call at&T ( I dont want to restore my phone ) or do I need to change my sim card?
THANKS!

I'm experiencing a similar problem I got two S21+ from AT&T. My wife's S21+ can make and receive AT&T Video Calls and Duo Video Calls. The icons for Video Calls on her dialer and contacts is green when AT&T is set as the default video call app and blue when we set her default video call App to duo. I can receive AT&T video calls from her phone, but I can't initiate AT&T video calls. Icons are grayed out on dialer and contacts when AT&T Video Call is set as default. I can make and receive video calls using Duo. I contacted AT&T and they got back to me, but were not able to identify the problem. They say they will call me back, but I'm not holding my breath. I also have no desire to waste any more time on the phone with AT&T support. I will continue using Duo in the meantime. It works.

Suggests that
1) Your 3G settings arent correct
2) Your not recieving a 3G signal
3) The Recipicant doesnt have a 3G phone

I've tried yesterday - in fact it was super-international video call (from my UK mobile to Polish mobile while roaming in Greece . Worked with no problems at all. My suggestion would be to check if you have video call activated on your SIM card.
Ah - did not realise you needed it activated on the SIM - thought it just used the 3G connection...

no problem with vdo calls
i have no problem with the 3G vdo calls at all. must be your setting.
How do you tell if your SIM card has video calling activated?
I'd love to try it out when the 8925 arrives.
Thanks!

Depends on particular operator, but I don't expect anyone is charging extra for that. At least not in UK.
I'm using Nadavi's Dialer. Cannot start a video call, I am displaying H on my Kaiser which is faster than 3g. I logged into my AT&T account online and added the Video Share for 5.99 a month. What am I doing wrong? I tried it with another AT&T person who had the same 5.99 feature on his account and was in a 3g network. When I try it, it says failed what do you want to do. Make regular call, sms, mms, yadadadaa. PM me if you know the answer thanks otherwise just post a reply please thanks
Nadavi's dialer is not able to make video calls - you need the HTC dialer.
The Tilt is not capable of video share. Most of the Samsung and some LG phones have video share.

Ok on Nadavis phone dialer theres a button for video call and also if you hit menu you get Video Call Options. Pretty sure it's built in to the dialer
Hi all, I'm currently on a GS3 with Verizon and Google Voice integration works well, I. E. Receive calls from GV number as well as using GV for voicemail and transcription (instead of Verizon voicemail).
Are there any gotchas or differences to be aware of in setting up GV with Moto X on AT&T? Or with any phone on AT&T for that matter?
Thanks!

Not really but I would just disable visual voicemail which is preinstalled. Other than that it's no different
No problem for me either. Indeed, you might want to disable/remove/uncheck all AT&T preloaded apps.
Oddly, I see to be having issues with getting Voice to work on my phone. It's not picking up at all as the default voicemail. I've tried uninstalling it and going through the setup again - and the phone still shows that Voice is the voicemail - but the phone will ring forever unless I manually reject the call. Anyone else experiencing this?

Do you have it properly forwarding the call to your google voice number? That needs to be edited in the phone settings.

Yeah, in the phone settings it lists google voice as the voicemail provider.
Just wanted to update - my issue was that when I swapped to this phone, AT&T forgot to enable voicemail to it. So now it's working again.

I had the same issue. I just got off the phone with customer service and they had to put the vm soc back on my account.
Wonder how many other people have the same issue and haven't realized it yet?

Google voice works just fine on my moto x also.
But after 2 years of using google voice; Im finally getting rid of it. Im tired of the MMS headaches. Tired of waiting for google to find a solution.
This may or may not help anyone. But Google voice on all my phones and my nexus 4 worked great for years. Recently my ATT accountgot hhacked and my entire account had to be re provisioned. This defaulted to the newer voicemail service and Googlevoice no longer can register. So instead iI just set all forwarding to my Google voice number and it functions the same way.
Supposedly getting ATT to put me back on the old style voicemail is a difficult task to convincethe reps to do. Take ffor what its worth. This is my nexus 4 too and Google voice just can't register as voicemail for some reason.
Is there any application which can record all calls from both sims without rooting? (HTC One Dual Sim, Non Rooted, Model: 802d)
I have tried almost 20-25 application from Google Play Store. All were able to record my voice clearly. But, none could record voice coming from other side clearly.
Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.
Why you need call record from both sims, you talk on both line same time? Any call recorder app who work for One must be good. I use Soul rom with recorder active in dialer.

I don't need to record simultaneously on both the sims. What I meant is the application should be be able to record incoming/outgoing calls from both the sims. I have tried at least 20-25 apps. But, none could record voice coming from other side clearly (either voice from other side barely audible).
Is there any application which could record calls with same/proper volume levels on both the sides (i.e. caller and listener) on unrooted phone.
Hey everyone,
I have a bit of a weird issue here. I have a note 8 from Verizon which everyone knows comes unlocked. I am using it on AT&T and everything works well except for one thing. For some reason when I receive phone calls from people, it shows on the screen with a + sign in front of the phone number. So if someone calls me that is in my contact book, it will not show their name since there is no + sign in my contact book. So also now in my call history if I try to call that number back it sounds like it is trying to make an international call. I have no idea what is happening. Data, texts and calls work but instead of getting a call from 9999999999 I get +9999999999.
Please help me out here, I love the phone!!
Zachary
I've read about this issue before. Googling 'incoming calls show +' gives you some leads.
In short it seems to be related to Dialling Assistance settings (note spell error, is as in settings...). I couldn't find those via the regular settings (used to be accessible via settings in Phone app), but I could via the app 'Shortcut Master (Light)' ...
Search for 'dialing' and then launch:
'com.android.phone.operator.usa.AssistedDialingActivity'. My settings (N950U1) are as per SS...
Try playing with these settings.

Your using a non us approved phone. What would you expect? No volte, means no calls if 3g is not available.

Get on with Tmobile Support and order a Cellspot booster, makes a world of difference. Worked for me.
they'll ship it to you next day.

In that case no, the booster is only for home. You can download and install LTE Discover, it cycles your cell radio for better reception without restarting your phone.

Lol, yup, that's why he's missing calls. Not just about bands, but no volte. If you have no 3g, no calls.
Running into the same issue. Didn't realize it at first, but 3 different friends have told me when they call me it goes straight to voicemail. I bought the ROG 2 on launch here in the US off their website. I have the WW US VERSION but no VoLTE is killing me. Didn't think it was gonna affect me this much. Kinda torn on what to do now.

Good to know I am not the only one... I have forwarded my calls to Google Voice number and installed Hangouts Dialer on my phone... So any T-Mobile calls with this issue will be forwarded to my Google voice number on my ROG Hangouts app and problem solved...

Can you explain a little more on how I would do this. I have a Google voice number.
If a friend calls my ROG phone and it goes straight to voicemail, how will my Google voice notify me? I see the option if someone calls my Google voice then it will forward it to my ROG phone but not the other way around.

Auto forward from your T-Mobile number to Google Voice Number... Install Hangouts and Hangouts Dialer..
Phone - Settings - Call - Carrier related - Call forwarding - SIM 1 - I enabled forward for last 3 options to my Google voice number...
Now open Google Hangouts and Settings... You should see Google Voice listed under it to accept incoming calls and messages...

Thank you for this!!!
The issue is consistent across all our ROG2s with TMobile
We tested the ROG2 as a replacement for our company phones and it was well received by all. However, we also began noticing missed calls with all the phones that were on T-Mobile. Keep in mind that the original one we purchased for testing was the China version (that blocks Google until rooted) and the rest are a mix of the USA version and the international version, so we have all three. Some are rooted, most are stock but they all have this problem. It turns out that, if you change the T-Mobile network to 2G/3G instead of 2G/3G/4G, it rings every time. FYI

My guess is you would have to set up call forwarding with your carrier.
Alternatively: Port your number to google voice and get a new number for your actual phone, then set up the google voice to forward to your new number. This way any missed calls land on google voice and you can still make calls out.
