Error 11 when putting the reverse gear - Android Auto General

I have finally achieved, with the Toyota chr 2020, and with a Xiaomi that the mobile is seen on the screen, the only thing that as soon as you put the R gear, it stops working, and a red screen of error 11 appears, you have to go back to be in P or N to reconnect, it would be nice to be able to solve that bug when you change gear, does anyone know something?

Your headunit is probably rigged to a reverse camera that's not passing video. It may be a good idea to check the wires and factory reset your head unit.

Well, after a week of use, I can only confirm that the same thing is happening, everything is fine with both screenauto and aamirror until I put the reverse gear that the camera is connected, there the mirroring of the smartphone stops working,.......exactly what should tell the Toyota mechanics? since it is a new car and is under warranty

But the reverse gear is connected to video, precisely the video from the rear camera to see on the screen ....

Can You explain to me? Because precisely when I put the reverse gear the image on the video screen of the rear camera is activated, and that is when the mirroring fails, therefore I do not understand what should be done with the cables.

I think your AA resets when you put your car in reverse and it crashes the mirroring client. It would be a good idea to check the logs for S2A.

And how can I check Screen2auto logs?
To be able to put it here and that those who understand computer science can find out how to fix that failure.

[Q] Strange problems (screen mirroring and calls)

I have 2 problems in my xperiaZ1:
1) I have a problem with screen mirroring feature in xperia Z1. While the TV shows that the phone is connected, the phone still shows "preparing to mirror". After some time, a msg in the phone saying cannot mirror.
A samsung Note 3 get mirrored to the same TV in just one click. Whereas, xperia z1 is not able to.
2) While on the call, the other person can hear me only when I hold the phone properly (meaning with my hand to the ear). The moment I rest my phone to my shoulders (while my hands are engaged with something else etc,.) the other person is unable to hear me. There is no network issue as I tried this at home where the person was able to hear me properly when the phone was properly held with the hand, but the moment I rest it on my shoulders, there seems to be a problem. This is a weird problem. I hope you have understood it correctly.
1) I tried too to pair to my TV and i can't send any pictures to be show because I wissing the option send via WiFi so somehow this is a problem. BTW I am on 4.3.
2) Solution: Don't use your shoulders! Probably because when you do that you cover the microphone and Z1 is not like other phones, it's well isolated due to waterproffness.

I have same issue with screen mirroring ... I can't connect to my Samsung smart tv...
Sent from my Z1.
Yup, connects to the TV, but doesnt stream content. Maybe samsung tv requires a samsung phone with the AllCast app
guys, today I had been to the electronics store in Bangalore. I tried mirroring my Z1 to 5 to 6 Samsung Smart TVs there. unfortunately, it dint work. Since that store was selling Sony Xperia Z1 mobiles too, planned to mirror a new Z1.
To my horror and surprise it was working !!!
I went to the authorised sony centre and they said they l check and revert back..Will update, once I have my phone back. Kitkat is due early february and it seems it will take care of this issue..
I was wrong about the microphone btw, just found out that it is actually where the speakers are

You are wrong now too, the Z1 have 2 microphone, 1 behind call speaker on top and 1 at the bottom, they working together and closing 1 is 50% less of possibility that other person can hear you, enough to not hear you at all.
I have the same problem with phone calls ! I've even tried holding it off center between my ear and shoulder ( very awkwardly ) , but then the proximity sensor triggers the screen. This Z1 has been nothing but issues.

Strange screen flicker?

I have only had my tf701 a day but Ive noticed sometimes when docked to the keyboard if you dont touch the mouse for a few seconds sometimes when you move the mouse again it will make a flicker around where the mouse is located, it doesnt always do it, just wondering if anyone has noticed this or is it a fault with my tablet?
I can live with it, but if there is a known fix it would be nice to sort it.
Thank You
After a bit of messing about I think it only does it with live wallpapers? Which isnt a problem as I wont be setteling on a live wallpaper anyway found them far too distracting.
Would still be nice to know this is fixable though.
Thank You
I was wrong its not to do with live wallpapers, just seems to do it on some apps, for example if I go to apex launcher then settings, if I leave the mouse for 10 seconds or more than rouch to move it, it makes the strange flash across the screen.
Could anyone else please test if theirs does this?
Thanks
Asus considers it to be a feature - not a bug - and calls it "smart backlight adjuster".
For most people it goes away upgrading to 4.3 which I guess you haven't done?

Yeah I am running 4.3?
I have noticed it does it on the drawer too, only when using the dock and leaving the mouse dormant for 8 seconds or more than moving it again it sends horizontal lines across the screen for a split second, is this the bug *ahem* feature you speak of?
Thanks

Also when you say adjuster, that sounds like it would be something that requires adjusting but it still does this with screen set to full brightness, or least brightness, with auto off, also wit outdoor on or off, it still does the strange flicker.
I can happily live with it, doesnt bother me that much just dont want it to be something that is going to get worse as Im very close to unlocking the device and dont want to blow all warranty if I already have a fault.
Thanks

No what I had in mind was the screen dimming and brightening. What you describe sounds more like the "flashing black lines" the TF700 has (which seems to be due to some nvidia driver issue). I have not noticed those on the TF701 but then, I am so used to them from the 700 I probably wouldn't even notice. Have not read anything about them in the forums though, so I suspect your situation is unique.
Are you in the US? Get a Squaretrade warranty. I find the peace of mind is worth the $75 since they don't care about locked/unlocked...

Can you please test for me open your drawer, leave the mouse in the centre for 10 seconds then move it and see if it does the black lines?
Also did the issue ever get resolved or get any worse on the 700 or is it just something the user gets used to?

Don't have the keyboard for the TF701 - yet. So I can't help you with your test.
The black lines on the 700 are benign - I don't even notice them anymore. But I don't think my 701 has them, so there is a possibility that your tablet has a glitch...

I don't want to be negative here, but waiting for Asus' response is pretty useless. Their support staff has two answers for questions beyond: "Where do I find my pictures?" and they are:
a) Factory reset, and if that does not help:
b) Send it in for repair - which may or may not cost you a bundle...
If you do send it in get written confirmation that your tablet is still under warranty first and take pictures of your tablet documenting its condition, how you packed and shipped it etc.

No it cannot be replicated when the dock is not connected or when just touching the screen with or without the dock connected, it only does it on some areas of the system such as drawer and some apps if the mouse if left dormant for 8 seconds or so then moved.
I have done a factory reset and cold boot as requested by Asus, but the problem still persists as shown here in the new video

Mine definitely doesn't do that. Try switching the cursor mode to gesture mode for me and see if that makes a difference. (I doubt it will but you never know)
Then go to the system settings, about and click the build number 7 times to enable developer mode. Then go into developer settings and look for force GPU rendering and disable hardware overlays. Check both. Reboot - any difference?
Check the cables
When troubleshooting a screen flicker, I always check the cables first. Several TechRepublic members agree. Ian C B, Bruceb, Crjordan, and Aqmike all suggested checking the video and monitor power cables before doing anything else. Ian C B reminds us to confirm that the cables are screwed in tightly and to replace the cables with new ones to see if the problem persists.
"The color changes are almost always a faulty wire in the cable," Crjordan said. "Try working the cable back and forth near both connectors. If this causes the color change, you could have a broken wire in the cable, or a loose pin in one of the connectors. Make sure the cable is out of the way (from feet, hands, and other objects). You may also try zip-tying it to itself or another stable object until you can replace either the cable or the monitor."
Check the environment
If a cable isn't the culprit, then the user's workspace should be next on your hit list. Monitors are notoriously sensitive to magnetic fields. Speakers, florescent lights, fans, cell phones, radios, and any other electrical device can cause a wide range of monitor problems. (See Figure A.) "Check what's around the [monitors]," Vilefileman said. "Cell phones are known to cause screen flickers, among other things, and plugging a radio or fan into the same receptacle can also cause screen flickers."
Maybe its like some kind of electrostatic interefereence in your environment more to do with the power being supplied to the device. Check cables. Etc. I think its interference or something.

I have noticed one other thing, it will not do the fault on first reboot, until the screen is locked, once unlocked it starts doing this fault
Gesture mode made no difference
Also done the developer options and they made no difference :crying:

However each time I reboot the option is un ticked that's why I thought it didn't do it

Theres not really any cables I can check, I have checked the connection is pushed in correctly which it is.
I have just tried to replicate the error outside with my phone turned off inside the house so no chance of interference and the error was still present.
Don't think this is quite the issue as it only does it when moving the mouse after leaving it on certain apps for 8 seconds.

Broke my screen, camera stopped working, vibrates randomly

I broke my screen last week , it fell and was damaged, and the camera stopped working too. I fixed the screen, but the camera is still offline, tried to change the rom, but no changes., i am getting the "Error, camera not available". When i click on camera icon, it shows a black screen after some delay and then right away an error message pops up with "Error! Camera not available". When i load this from any application, such as snapchat or instagram, it crashes the application. Has anyone dealt with such issue before? Give me some hope, what could be wrong.
The camera was not working even before i replaced the screen. (The screen repair was good, i made sure nothing was touched that should'nt be touched.
The phone's proximity sensor seems to be a bit off too, the phone also vibrates ( like it received a text message) randomly.
Unrelated issue: the screen i install has a round ring that appears if i press the screen to hard at a certain spot. it's not too annoying but it is there.

Well i didnt opet Z1 before, so i dont know if you can only replace flat cable (if that is problem) or you must replace whole camera module.
Best bet is to give to service center, probably they will put new module on it, and its best in my opinion.

Status Update
So i opened the phone again, and seems like i was able to fix the screen issue.
Issue of camera remains. I removed the camera from the socket, and disconnected its wire from the motherboard. When i accessed camera without wire connected, it straigth away went to "ERROR. Camera not available. Earlier, when wire was connected, it took about 5 seconds and then outputted the Error. Flash/ Front camera are still not accessible or usable even when front camera was plugged out.
Weird vibrations are felt randomly, i am still trying to pinpoint what causes them, but they have decreased significantly.
My question now is, will replacing the camera fix the camera issue? Or is there a deeper wire/motherboard issue here? What would be your next step to investigate it further. Also, can this be not a broken screen issue but a camera issue covered in warrantly?
Additional info: i have tried reinstalling ROM, flashed T-mobile's original ftf file, cleared camera cache, files etc. used 3rd party apps but no success.
#####SOLVED: SCREEN HAS WEIRD FLOATIES WHEN WE TOUCH AREA NEAR THEM
This is caused because of dust between the digitizer and the back of the phone. To fix this, simply open the phone up and remove any dust particles between the digitizer and the phone. Screen will work perfectly after that.

I don't think that anybody here could answer your questions. You should take your phone tot a service center.

SOLVED it.
Fixed it! The issue was that the back camera module was malfunctioning. Because of that, phone chip that controls camera (also controls vibrations) was not functioning properly. I bought a used camera module from ebay, plugged it in and phone works perfectly now

Proper Android Auto headunits

Have just returned my Xtrons unit due to various issues, and looking to change it for a proper Android Auto unit.
Had a look at the Pioneer AVH-X8700BT and quite disappointed, horrible buttons and a creaky flexy facia, and the onscreen menus etc are cluttered and unintuitive. This is a shame as I could have got 20%/£100 off in Halfords.
So interested to hear from anyone who has tried the others. I keep seeing comments about a JBL unit but it seems the launch date keeps getting shoved back. Kenwood - I've not found much about these but not hugely impressed by the look of the on screen menus in the static photos.
The one that has really got my attention is the Sony XAV-AX100 that has supposedly just been released. The unit looks smart and doesn't appear to need neon footwell lamps and extra boost gauges to complement it, (!) and the Sony menus have similar clean/uncluttered look like the Android Auto section. Apparently its only available via Sony Centres and both my local stores haven't come back yet with availability
I agree with your analysis of the options but i don't think the Sony product is released until December:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B01LY8222N/geizhals07-21/ref=nosim?m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
I personally got the Pioneer F88DAB (which is a european model) and I like the way it works. the menu is working quite well and I like the fact that I am able to adjust the screen tilt.
Android Auto works great at the device and I will upload a video of the device with android auto, so you can see how the menu and all the functions look like.

that JBL has been pushed back so many times, I would not have any faith in it. The top of the line Kenwood is over a grand, but I have seen some really good reviews on it and few bad reviews. That was my backup plan if I didn't like my Joying, but I love my Joying

The Sony is a good choice. With a pioneer device you can use appradio or mirra cast.

I have the previous model the Pioneer F77 DAB. Works very well. Back in the day halfords had it for something over £800 then by accident halfords listed at £600 so reserved one sharpish. Couple of days later it was back at its original price. I think someone had cocked up.
Far as android auto is concerned it works faultlessly. It's pretty quick booting up from off and reverse camera works straight away, not having to wait for unit to boot. Occasionally when turning vehicle key to on unit comes on as normal but if you then hesitate to start engine it seems to crash and take maybe a minute to boot again. Even reverse camera does not work when this happens. Unit comes on when key is turned to power but cranking engine robs power from unit so it turns off and on again. The crash is something to do with the stage of boot when power drops. In all the time I've had it, it has only happened maybe half a dozen times. Other than this it works faultlessly. Pioneer want stupid money for mapping updates for the built in satnav on the downside but half the time I use Google maps in AA for quickness. Pioneer has an app to connect the phone to on board sat navigation - AVICSYNC. It works but is very clunky. Waiting for Waze to become AA compatible but not holding my breath on that one.
Well after failing miserably with two local Sony centres and also Sony online, I managed to find the unit for sale on Amazon! I'd set my heart on it and after three months with a gaping hole in the dashboard, its finally fitted!
First of all, its single DIN behind the facia so plenty of room for wiring looms, and simply slides in unlike the Android units that would need 30 minutes of trying to pull the cables around and still failing to get the facia flush. Also, as expected, it comes with a cage and standard mounting brackets so no bodging needed. Once fitted the unit sits neatly within the existing double din facia.
It starts up fast, works with my factory fitted reversing camera (unlike the Android units) and is simple to navigate. I was concerned about the 'cheap' resistive screen, but its actually very responsive and only needs a light touch.
The only issues I have so far;
1) The volume control knob needs a fair bit of spinning, it needs two or three goes to crank the volume down. I need to check the settings again to see if you can make the adjustment less fine.
2) If I connect the phone and play music on Spotify, and then start the engine, the unit powers down as normal during engine start. When it resumes, the music starts playing on the phone...I have to swipe across to a second screen and press a '+' speaker button to get the audio back through the vehicle speakers. A bug with my phone, or the radio? Something to look in to.
3) There is a limit to how many menu presses you can navigate, and unlike running Android Auto on the phone, instead of a momentary warning, it sticks until you navigate back home. Thats fine, although really irritating if your passenger is trying to find some tunes. But it does the same when stationary...I'm sure my handbrake is wired correctly but regardless, I'll be over-riding that feature as its in a campervan and I normally have a passenger!
4) Just to answer my own questions about the unit; No, the facia is not removable. No, it doesn't come with a remote control (a shame for a campervan!) And unlike the Android units, everything works seamlessly. i.e it doesn't freeze or get laggy, you don't need to wait ages for the unit to boot or Google Maps to load, and if you start the radio, Spotify etc will stop, rather than having two lots of audio competing for your attention

Android Auto uses the phones GPS and maybe accelerometer to know when you've stopped.
On my Kenwood unit the handbrake sensor is grounded all the time and I still get that message.

The only issues I have so far;

Re "And unlike the Android units, everything works seamlessly", not true - please see your points 1 and 2 !!
Re "unlike the Android units . . . it doesn't freeze or get laggy, you don't need to wait ages for the unit to boot or Google Maps to load", Android units per se dont have this problem, one particular type, with only 1GB RAM, Lollipop and a later version of Google Maps does, this can easily be sorted.
Glad youre happy with your new unit, enjoy.

My unit came with a remote. I also find what I believe is a software bug, if you turn on the dimmer the maps will always be in night mode.

I've got the same issue. As of 2.0 Android Auto uses the head units' GPS data. If your head unit doesn't have built in navigation (GPS), it won't remove the limitation even if stationary.

I found out it's by design by reading the user manual a bit better. The dimmer is connected to the headlights and when you turn on the lights it will go into night mode, unfortunately I use the lights 24/7 so I will install a toggle switch instead to turn on/off the daylight and the night mode. Pioneer has a a similar setting using the headlights but they also have a setting where you can set the time for night mode, hopefully Sony will have something similar in a future update.
Thanks for the replies!
I've worked out that the unit is detecting the handbrake as the video playback from an SD card is interrupted. I see the comment about the Sony not having built in GPS causing Android Auto to keep the 6 press limit, thats annoying, lets hope its fixed in an update. Surely it can use my phones GPS signal to work out when I'm stopped!
Terre08, I'll send you a PM regarding your remote...interesting!

Major Issues with my N6! Can Anyone Help?

So my main issue right now is no sound whatsoever unless I use a wired headset (earbuds etc).
No sound through speaker. Any changes made in options to troubleshoot have failed.
Also, I have no camera app at all. It's like it never existed for this phone.
I'd be okay with it, simply because I finally got the phone up and running again after a battery and mid-frame assembly replacement, but I need sound and camera. Especially the camera due to my banking app.
My Setup
twrp-3.2.1-0-shamu
RR-N-Neo-v5.8.5-20180119-shamu-Unofficial - Android N 7.1.2
open_gapps-arm-7.1-mini-20180122
Magisk 15.3 (from official XDA thread)
*optionally - Viper4android 2.5.0.5
So the two main problems are no sound at all unless I have headphones in.
No camera app or anything
I will add, I can access the non-existent camera through the gallery app included in that RR Neo build, but it FC's immediately and continually.
I've done every wipe imaginable minus a factory image flash of the last Nougat build for our phones.
Complete wipes including: in TWRP the "yes" option on Format Data.
Factory Reset followed by Dalvik, Cache, System, and Data wipes.
Essentially everything I've been doing without issue for the few years I've owned this phone.
If anymore info is needed I'm willing to provide it, sincerely hope someone can help me diagnose or possibly fix this phone.
Seriously, thanks for any help provided.
Just help me get away from this iPhone 5 loaner

The above concerns me...
Was the sound working prior to the replacement?

Yep, was working perfectly before replacement and for about a day or so after.
Only issue I had sound-wise was with static-y audio when headphones or aux cable was plugged in for my car's head unit.
Not sure what happened. I did notice on the mid-frame assembly I bought, there was no earphone speaker, it's the module next to the camera. So today I added it to the new mid-frame and no dice...also to be sure I used my old headphone jack on the old frame, and no change.
Could it be the battery isn't strong enough?
EDIT:
The battery I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DJZMJH4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

No, wouldn't be the battery.
Ok so, that speaker you added to the mid frame by the camera on top, has two pins. Those two pins need to be facing towards the camera (they touch two metal contacts). If those pins aren't touching those contacts, it won't work. Likewise, the speaker on the bottom that is attached to the motherboard, has two tiny pins (one on each side) that make contact to two metal plates on the mid frame. Check and make sure these things are making contact.

So I just checked the contacts, and that speaker is seated properly.
No sound.
It's killing me right now. This battery is doing fantastic, but I can't use the phone.
Still no camera either. Just doesn't show up in app drawer, on launcher or anywhere but gallery.
Starting to think the phone might be a goner. Which would be a shame...

That's a shame man. Sounds like something was either damaged during the replacement or some ribbon cables may not have been seated all the way, idk. If it were me, I'd do a complete tear down and put it all back together and hope for the best.

UPDATE:
@Neo
I took your suggestion, tore everything apart, at least on the frame, turns out the frame wasn't making good contact with the LCD panel. Once that was established, I put everything together again and thankfully had one of the last factory images released from Google, re-flashed stock with the toolkit, and once it booted up, camera worked and so did the sound! But only out of one speaker.
Checked the frame again, turns out the new one had that clear plastic blue, sticky tape looking stuff, moved that and bottom speaker worked too.
TL;DR
Problem solved, turns out I wasn't thorough enough with making sure all ribbons and modules were making contact with the frame and LCD panel. Oh and flashing a factory image fixed all software related problems (no camera app showing up or working etc).
Happy camper for now!

That was the only thing I could think of
Improper contact with the pins. If you had done all this and it still didn't work, I'd have been at a loss lol. Glad you're up and running.
