So i have this new problem that im facing right now and i just can't find the solution for it on the internet (i don't even know the right keyword for it)
I installed an app called Island, it's an app to create a work profile. At some point, the app didn't start well. I can not enable the work profile that i just made, everytime i entered my pin to confirm to enable the work profile, the Settings app stopped working and the work profile did not enabled. I thought this problem could be fixed just by restarting the phone.
Then i wanted to reinstall a magisk module which is Audio modification library cause i got a problem with V4A, then i reboot my phone.
When i got into the lockscreen, i put in my pins, and the launcher (or anything cause there's no error message) didn't start. I use Nova launcher and i never seen this kind of bug (or error perhaps), so i dont think it's the launcher instead the settings app and the island app.
TL;DR
I can not pass through my lockscreen, everytime i put my pins, the screen went black and throw me to the lockscreen again, asking for my pins again which is why i can not use my fingerprint. I have tried rebooting many times but still no luck.
Mi A6 (jasmin_sprout), Android 9 (28), Magisk rooted (i dont think this has to do with the problem)
Gosh i found it, this vid helps me :

Okay, big apologies, but this is the wife's phone (surely you can understand).
Her phone was updated to CM6 RC2. I did a really good job of making sure it was exactly as it was before the update. Two small problems exist now though, and I'm sure it can be fixed.
1 - She uses LauncherPro (not ADW). I installed, restored all settings. Rebooted and it was perfect, UNTIL I used the search widget (I know there is no point for it, again, wife's phone).
When I open the search widget, works perfect. BUT, when I return to the home screen the search widget is stuck at the top of the screen, covering the 4 app icons. I have to reset LP in order for it to return to normal.
What is causing this? What's the fix?
2 - The phone CONSTANTLY is syncing. It never stops. Even when I cut off sync using the power control widget, it is still showing the sync icon.
I just started using SMS backup, so I am curious if that is to blame? I would not think so... but... it's the one NEW thing I did add (though I don't think it caused an issue just before i updated when I was backing everything up).
I DID search but could not find an answer. Thank you for any help!
Is anyone else having these issues?
Hello, I'm on Cromi-X and running the Sixaxis app and a PS3 controller. I have no problem with the basic functionality - it works just like it does on all my other Asus tablets. However, I have found one kind of big bug and I was hoping someone else could check this for me on their systems. The problem I'm having is a crash every time I try to open up a background image to make a touch profile. This is the "Change Background" button under the "edit touch profiles." Every time I select "Change Background" it crashes (actually it says Unfortunately...has stopped), it doesn't drop back to desktop, only to the previous menu level in the program.
I can build a touch profile, drop buttons and joysticks and it will work, but it's very much trial and error process without being able to import a screenshot to overlay while you are working. Has anyone else seen this? I tried uninstall, re-install, closing everything else, etc. I've been searching and cannot find anyone else posting about this type of crash (on any system) so I wonder if it is something unique to the TF701T or maybe Cromi-X (I'm on Deodex 6.1 and love the rom). I am hoping that I am not the only Sixaxis user running Cromi-X 6.1 at the moment. Note that you do not have to have a controller on or paired to test this - you can create profiles without needing a controller. Thanks in advance.
Hello friend.
I was running your setup exactly... however I've never tried to create a touch profile. As you, I did find that everything else worked properly on that ROM with sixaxis. It's a great ROM! If I decide to flash back to it, I'll give it a shot and let you know. Sorry I can't help.

I've never used it before but it seems to work for me. Not sure if I am doing it right
Main Screen Select
Menu > Preferences > Touch Emulation > Edit Touch Profiles
Then Double tap for menu > Change Background
I have an option for either Gallery or G+Photos and I select Gallery then I find the image and it's good.
Gallery version is 5.1.20131213 which is the Asus stock version (I think)
Did you maybe change your screen resolution? I am no the default.
You know what, I think your reply might have helped me figure out the problem. I don't see gallery installed and maybe this program is calling it. I'll look back, but maybe the 6.1 version of Cromi-X has it on the removed app list. I'm traveling, so it might be hard for me to restore it, but I will definitely give that a shot when I get back home next week. Thanks for the help.

Download the apk from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53816421
Seems sixaxis needs the gallery.... and sbdags removed it. He just doesn't remember why
Yes, that fixed it. Weird. Thanks.

Not that weird. Devs tie their apps into an existing eco system. Why not use services that are installed by default instead of duplicating it? We custom rom users are a tiny minority among Android users. So we'll always have to find our own solutions. Which is part of the fun, right?

He does now! It's because Asus called it called Asus Studio (not gallery) which is more than just a gallery but is full on picture editing (bloatware)
Anyway - you can also add it back in via the asus spps installer as well via post two of the CROMi-X 6.1 thread
Hi guys, I really hope I can get some help here, can't find anything about the problems I am encountering.
I am using this phone for about 4 weeks now, and it's working fine, except for some problems with widgets. I have problems with 3 apps/widgets now; they all worked fine on my old phone, a HTC Sensation XE (rooted, with different ROM's and Android versions). They all have strange behaviour. At first I thought I had some settings set wrong in the apps themselves, but I tried everything I could think of and now I have to conclude that the problems start with the phone itself.
I am encountering problems with the following apps:
aCalendar+: widget, but also opened app get in some kind of update loop; sync icon starts spinning, stops and immediately starts again, and on and on. It does sync properly though in the meantime.
Plume: Most of the time the widget does not respond to manually syncing. Only after I open the app and sync manually (which works fine), and go back to the widget, I can finally sync using the widget.
Transparent clock & weather: Most of the time, the clock does not keep track of the time, it just hangs. Only when I tap the widget, or refresh the weather, it syncs with the internal clock, like it should. Sometimes though, the clock does keep track for a short time, but in the end it will hang again.
I tried out a lot of different things with the P7 energy- and network apps settings. Also I upgraded to firmware version 126, but it all doesn't make any difference. It's all really annoying, especially because I never had those issues on my old phone.
Anybody got a clue?

Can you provide the play store links of this apps?
I would try and test it.
This apps are enabled in protected apps?

I have test this app.
I think you mean this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.droid27.transparentclockweather
I was able to reproduce your problem and solve it.
Please set this app as "protected app". You didn't have set it, so the app would be closed then the screen get off.
You can set this: Settings -> Protected Apps -> Check the checkbox of this app.
Then your widget is working.
Then an app don't set up as protected, the app would be closed on screen off.

Thanks for your help, I already tried that out before. It do not think it made a difference though. Anyway, the time freezing issue also happened when using the phone for some time, I mean without screen off time, so it should not make any difference. But in the meantime I updated the app, and that seems to work.
The links for the other apps:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.withouthat.acalendarplus&hl=nl
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.levelup.touiteur&hl=nl
I contacted the developer of Acalendar+, and as far as I understood there should be an update coming in the near future that should resolve the problem. I installed another calendar app in the meantime, which just works flawlessly, so maybe I just stick to that one...
I hope Plume gets a working update too, so I can enjoy me phone without being annoyed
Thanks again for your effort!

Oops, I just found out you were right about the protected apps thing. I have not had the issue with the screen active since the last update, but indeed, after screen-off time, the issue is back again. So I guess I should indeed use the protected apps setting.
I don't understand why this is necessary though. I mean, the internal system clock just carries on ticking in standby mode, so why wouldn't the app just sync with that automatically when I activate the screen? Or would it be so that the app has always been active in standby mode on my old phone, and is it only because I now have this protected apps mode on this new phone that I am getting aware of this? If you understand what I mean, this is quite hard for me in English...

I've experienced similar issues. Like you I use aCalendar+ which is very good. However I don't use any of the widgets that come with this app. I prefer Smooth Calendar instead. So far, no problems at all. And as for the clocks, it seems a bit hit and miss. I was using DIGI Clock Plus but had no end of trouble with it. It just won't update on wake up. Protected or otherwise. I've given up on it. The clock widgets from HD Widgets work just fine. There's an amazing array to choose from. Maybe it's an Android issue, maybe Huawei. Who knows? I think the best solution is to find apps and widgets that work and discard those that don't.
Hello guys. I just intalled official pie update that came yesterday on my phone via OTA.
However I forgot to uninstall goodlock 2018 (im from EU and therefore its not officialy available) I had navstar (I added different buttons) and task changer turned on.
After installing Pie, these features are no longer available on my phone (in good lock app they appear blocked and I cant update them).
BUT since they were not turned off, now im stuck with them and I cant turn it off (the buttons from navstar are still there even after uninstal). I tried uninstalling but they still apear.
The result is that its now crashing with Pie ONE UI and experience home keeps crashing. I have temporarily added different launcher and its works, but if I go back to home experience, it starts lagging and crashing again.
What can I do? Can I officialy revert back to oreo, remove goodlock and then install pie again? Or is there other way to do it?
I have once heard that you must never uninstall goodlock features without turning them off first because they cause problems afterwards and it seems this is the case here.
Would appreciate any help here, the phone with default home experience launcher is useless because of crashing.
you could try a factory reset....

I had good lock too with nearly all mods being used and switched on, after update, other than my phone looking like crap, it's not caused any actual issues like you describe.
I don't use navstar though and I use ruthless launcher so maybe that's why.
Have you uninstalled each individual module? Rather than just the good lock app itself?
If so your only options are either wait for good lock to be updated, or a factory reset, I say a reset is always best after a major version update anyway, although I can't be arsed doing that myself yet
Well it seems that deleting Home Experience data fixed the issue. Thanks for the replies though.
On side note I realy dislike new recent apps. Task changer in good lock was miles miles better. If you watched something in youtube and went into recent apps it kept playing in background, here it leaves any app and scrolling isnt nearly as smooth. Hopefuly they add it back for pie because right now I sort of regret upgrading.
After my update on AT&T yesterday, I have persistent handles on left and right as well as the edge handle that is usable in the upper left. Anyone know how to get rid of these? I tried turning off edge panels and they still show. Also I have tried the transparency trick, no good there either. Is this a known "upgrade" or a known issue? Thanks in advance.
Disable One Hand Operation + for those handles
Do any of you know how to get multi window to work? It seems to be gone.

Well...it's a launcher, called ruthless haha. Just Google it and you'll find the XDA page, it's a branch off from the original rootless launcher, basically it's a pixel launcher but with lots of extra settings.
I am on the us carrier AT&T. I am using the snapdragon model. I took the OTA yesterday and I left goodlock 2018 installed and all the addons enabled.
I am not getting any of the issues you described. The good lock app just shows all the mods as "disconnected". One hand operation and edge lighting are still working.

Thanks mate, been scratching my head trying to get rid of those 2 bars. They were about the same height as the keyboard and pressing near a bar made it freeze for a few seconds. Cheers
Im on S8 exynos pie Beta 3. Task changer is not working. Even with badlock. Is this working for anyone of you?
Hi! As I'm sure many of you know, Google Assistant has stopped working properly at some point (probably with EMUI 12 update).
This is a widespread issue from what I've read on multiple forums. Even if I activate the assistant manually instead of "Ok Google", it does not hear anything I say.
The thing is, if I open the Recorder application and start recording and then activate the assistant it works without any issues, which leads me to believe there is some kind of app/service that is blocking the Microphone when Recorder is not active.
I have tried uninstalling every new package the came with EMUI 12 using ADB Fastboot tool, as well as some older bloatware services like the Huawei App Gallery, etc., but it did not fix the issue.
Furthermore one of the Apps showing as having permanent access to the Microphone is MEETime, and even though I tried uninstalling it and it said it was successful, the app is still there.
Does anyone know exactly what causes this issue and how it might be fixed? (outside of flashing a totally new ROM which I don't exactly want to do right now)
TIA!

I was the same issue and finally fixed it.
It's true last Google assistant version don't work in EMUI 12 (P30 PRO).
My solution was to install a previous version of Google assistant. I installed an .APK version that worked fine. And I was satisfied with that solution but one day I pressed the update button in play store and the newest version is working fine in my Huawei.
No idea why it didn't work before ..
I hope this wasy solution can fix your problem
