Anyone still using this phone? - Motorola Atrix HD

I recently purchased this phone for $20 on ebay. It's in pristine condition, not a scratch on it. My reasoning for purchashing it is I wanted an older phone that was easily rootable for music and other stuff. Finally got linage OS installed on it, and I am very impressed. I was worried about the battery but it seems fine. Thinking about getting an sim card adapter and trying it out as my daily. It's a breathe of fresh air compared to the unrootable bloat-infested carrier-branded phone I am currently using.

As of Jan 1 2021 AT&T requires VoLTE enabled phones. This phone never had VoLTE so your sim would be deactivated by AT&T. You could try a sim from another carrier but Verizon would probably not activate either. I'm not sure about Sprint (T-Mobil). I use this phone as a learning tool for building roms.

Ahh that's a shame. They will always find a way to force us to upgrade won't they? Guess I will have to find a newer phone that is compatible with lineage because I cannot go back to dealing with stock. I'll keep this little guy as a media device.

Isn't it true that Atrix HD won't work in USA on AT&T network with VoLTE? I am from Canada and mine works ok here... I use custom rom (updated Android 7.1) and no issues in Canada. Any other US network can do?

According to Kb8no over on the Moto X Pure thread if you do not hve VoLTE AT&T will disable you sim and you have to call them to enable it again.
BTW I successfully compiled CRDroid the the AtrixHD. If anyone is interested I will start a new thread and upload it.

Yes that will be great thank you! BTW, I have few older ROMS for Atrix HD on my computer - CyanogenMod Android 5.1.1, Bliss roms Android 6.0.1 and Chinese rom (Suda Mod) android 6.0.1 that were started by someone but not continued.. They aren't that stable (most stable is Android 5.1.1) but less and less apps compatible with Lollipop now. Where can I upload them?

This CRDroid is based on Lineage14.1 and has many but not all of the new secuurity updated included. It's still dated 2018 because CRDroid stopped including the patches in their source code. Once I figure out how to merge the patches it will be totally up to date. It runs smooth without gapps and is pre rooted.

I'll upload it when I get a chance for you to try.
Edit: Since it's a new rom I have to make a new Thread dedicated to the rom with all the information.
Edit no. 2: I'll build a new one with April updates and send you a personal link until I get the thread up.

Oh awesome, I just picked up a few off ebay because they aren't very expensive and I was going to use them more for projects instead of using more as a phone.

Hi there, everybody! I am still using Marshmallow on my phone for various reasons. But the latest clean Lineage 13 that we have is with March 2017 security patches - so it is quite old now. I saw that there is a new MM ROM in XDA - the Lineage OS 13 with MicroG patch one. But when I saw what MicroG is, I really didn't even think about flashing this ROM - I am not privacy-concerned because all the Google services are useful to me, and I don't like using custom kernels on Lineage. The stock one works the best for me.
So for people like me - who like the clean Lineage and don't want to have any issues with Google Services, I built a Lineage 13 from Source with the latest security patches from Google.
Again, I am not telling you the ROM with MicroG patch is bad. It's actually a pretty great ROM. I'm just uploading this one, so that people like you have choices - either flash this clean one, or the one with the MicroG patch.
It has root built in. You can find it in the developer options. No need to flash the extra ZIP.
ChangeLog:
Version 20180319:
Updated Lineage sources (including new fixes, improvements, etc.)
Theoretically should work better
1 March 2018 security patch
Using Squid Kernel 22b by default
Version 20171115:
Initial booting Release
Contains KRACK fix and BlueBorne fix
Rooted by default
Installation:
Download the ROM from the downloads tab on the top of this thread
Download OpenGAPPS (or other ones which work with Lineage)
Wipe the Data, Cache and Dalvik (ART Cache)
Flash the ROM
Flash the GAPPS (optional)
Reboot and enjoy!
Important:
Each build of this ROM is made via the Windows 10 Subsytem for Linux. If anyone has problems with building Android on WSL, simply PM me and I'll be glad to help you.

The ROM is installable with twrp-osprey-3.1.1-r1, the newer version adds support for newer android version. I guess it also means dropping support for older version of android. But again this ROM doesn't boot for me even after flashing was successful.

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, the Rom has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
With the rebrand of CM to LineageOS (LAOS) we are now actually LAOS based with some tweaks from AOSP.

Yea at this point it like the 1 ton stone ball is stuck in a crater xD. The remaining bugs aren't proving easy to fix. VoLTE probably won't be hard to fix once I get my phone back on next week. But until then it will remain broken unless someone else fixes it.
Thank you for this rom and all your work on our K20+ @Travisholt92 ! You rock bro!! I have been following a while and will continue.

Thank you for the prompt response Travis , the build I am currently on is the AICP_lv5 0119 zip. The Google Chrome app is running slow and, shows an LTE signal in the status bar and it's very low until it switches to H+ or H. Also the web is loading very slow or not at all while on a call and this is on Google Chrome.

Bruh... Just let it go. Official means nothing to us end users. For devs official means they would've to dedicate themselves to that one ROM, become part of the official PE site and dev group and keep it updating even if they don't really want to. I think it means responsibility. So don't keep asking 'official when!?' for a dev is dedicated enough towards one ROM will take on official too. If not they won't.

Hey there. Tested out the other PE version here on XDA, but that bootlooped after 2 weeks of usage (apparently a problem with most custom OSes). Does this fix the bootloop issue? Havoc OS recently pushed a patch that fixes said problem

I didn't mean to be rude. Just as to know why there are two threads for the same rom.
I'll be more than happy to have any roms having no bugs at all and be unofficial rather than having bugs and be official. Peace :good:
Nice! tho fingerprint hardware becomes unavailable at times, and TWRP can read the internal memory as it becomes encrypted

Yes you can!
1. Unlock bootloader.
2. Flash recovery over fastboot mode.
3. Download rom and copy it into sdcard (not internal memory).
4. Put your device into recovery mode.
5. Flash rom from sdcard
6. Format data (factory reset).
7. Come back fastboot mode and flash vbmeta.img
8. Reboot system.
So that's, you didn't need to root your mobile.

Yes, that's right. I think this rom is the best from custom roms.
How does user update OTA with this Custom ROM if the new version is available? Must flash again and cannot do it through the phone directly?
Thanks for your detailed guide! One last request tho where can I find a compatible vbmeta.img that I can flash to avoid recovery destroyed error.
one question: how can I upgrade to this version from the previous PE such like the 17/01/2020 version by @BabluS?
@Orgasmtrron
There is this double tap to wake bug in this rom. No matter how your toggle is selected to in the settings, the Tap to Wake feature is always on. This is leading to battery drain too.
Another, can the wifi fix be incorporated? The wifi will not reconnect after switching it off, even though I have activated the option of wifi scanning and set the location to on. It still wouldn't reconnect automatically. You always have to manually turn the wifi on.
Thanks.

my questions to those testers who have tested the current official version(PixelExperience_RMX1971-10.0-20200227-0250-OFFICIAL.zip)
1) anyone tried gcam with all 4 back cameras (including macro and wide cameras) work in this rom ?
2) which version of gcam is stable for this rom?
3) is auto call recording feature available?
So far the rom is so stable, but the ram management is bad, I barely can't open 4 apps together and they load many of the times.

Introduction:
This is the Official Lineage OS 19.1 thread for the moto z2 force.
Join our moto z2 force Discord!
Downloads:
Please follow the install instructions in your device's Wiki page linked below exactly, and make sure your device's firmware matches the required firmware listed.
nash - Official builds
nash - My unofficial with Google Apps/Pixel goodies included. Passes SafetyNet by default. OTA's roll roughly once a month. Support not guaranteed or implied.
If you don't follow these instructions, or use 3rd party add-ons (like Magisk) please don't expect support here.
Known Bugs:
The EQ Apps for Audio Mods (eg. JBL2 App) won't work, and will crash.
Ultrasonic Proximity Sensor doesn't work -- No support present in the OSS Audio HAL. If it was written in, it wouldn't be used by anything in LineageOS, as the normal proximity sensor works fine.
Audio Mods have no alarm or notification audio through them.
Camera Mods don't (and won't ever) work.
Find any? Report them according to this guide.
Notes:
The only supported GApps package at the moment is MindTheGapps, linked on our Wiki page about gapps.
Official Lineage OS builds for nash ship with full Project Treble compatibility! Flash GSI's to your heart's content after flashing Lineage. Please don't report GSI bugs here, report them instead to the GSI's maker.
Code:
Technical details on our Treble implementation:
Treble is enabled with VNDK30, and VNDK runtime enforcement. VNDK runtime enforcement means that unlike most "ported treble" you'll see, ours is just as it would be from the OEM, and can run GSIs. without need for hacks or additional flashable zips. We relabeled /oem to /vendor (as /oem isn't wasn't used in custom ROMs anyway). To use a GSI, flash official Lineage, then flash your GSI, it's that simple! Flashing a factory image will likely write over /oem and remove the mock vendor image.

Thanks, npjohnson & erfanoabdi for your great support of NASH. When I brought this device with android 7.1, I would never imagine that one day I could run Android 12 on it.
INCREDIBLE! I love you! I love you! I love you! I love you! I love you! I love you! I love you! I love you!
Can anyone get a Bootloader unlock code for a Moto Z2 Force XT1789-04 AT&T. The Motorola webpage doesn't work.

No, and this isn't the thread to discuss unlocking/rooting your device. Please go to general discussion threads.

Oh ok Thanks
Too bad the Z2 force battery is hard to replace, still a legendary LOS phone.
Thanks for so much hard work and effort.
Updated wife's Nash to 19, followed the instructions to the letter and it all went smoothly; however she's now experiencing the same WiFi disconnects that she was getting on the android 10 last official Moto update but never experienced on 18.1
We especially notice this because we disabled her mobile data when we installed 18 because it had got so bad on the Moto ROM that she'd used up all her data allowance, the entire time she was using 18.1 she never had any disconnects.
Is anyone else experiencing this? WiFi is enabled and signed into the network, and most of the time it works fine, but then suddenly it just disconnects and then looks like it's stuck at dhcp, waiting for IP address.
I skipped WIFI config at first boot. Now when I enable WIFI I get 'System UI isn't responding'. Also when I open 'About this phone' the settings crash. This is a Moto Z2 Firmware XT1789-04 Tmobile.
Thanks for the great effort.

We are very excited to announce the beta of Paranoid Android Topaz, based on Android 13.
On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with beautiful wallpapers from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app from the PlayStore.
Our builds are based on the Code Linaro Organization Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.

We kindly ask all of you that are in a position to donate anything, to help and support us so we can provide better and faster build releases, as well as increase the download speed of our servers, all looking for your enjoyment.

Key Features
- Face unlock support
- A slew of Pixel exclusive features
It's my first time having a pixel and I heard from the past that Pixel's in general can relock bootloader on custom ROM. Will that work in this ROM?
Just installed, THANKS!
Working well so far! Installed most of the mods I was using on the factory image...
Magisk, lsposed, revanced, aosp mods all working.
Only problem for me is you can't customize settings for the at a glance widget and the flashlight suggestion is annoying.

You would need to make your own custom signing keys for the ROM or the ROM would need to come with them. Otherwise when you lock the bootloader, it will brick.

And also does the pixel 7 have a similar tool like msm tool from OnePlus devices when bricked?
Flashed about an hour ago and so far so good...only issue is it's saying lte and not 5g...anyone else having the issue?
Edit: the issue worked itself out
Edit 2: the issue is back... In the settings it says 5g but by my signal bars, it's giving the lte icon
Been waiting for this, very exciting. Thanks!

There is no EDL mode on the Pixel as that's a Qualcomm thing and we don't have access to Samsung's EDL alternative. If you manage to permanently brick it, Google will charge you for a board replacement which is like $500+.

I would agree with this. In fact I had never bricked a phone until my OnePlus 9 and I've had Android phones going back to the HTC Hero in 2009. I even majorly screwed up a flash on my Pixel 3 XL and it was totally recoverable since I didn't lock the bootloader. Regardless though, the fact that such a recovery tool doesn't exist, has definitely left people with bricks so it's worth pointing out.
Oops, boot loop... coming from QPR1 Beta. Looks like I will have to roll back to stable and then flash this

QPR1 isn't released in AOSP/CAF(CLO) until December I wouldn't recommend flashing any rom on top of it
