Comming from Huawei EMUI ecosystem (Huawei P30 pro), I'm used to have extra layer of security on few of my apps, so app is locked with fingerprint/PIN before it's open for the first time. Now I'm missing this feature on my Samsung phone.
I believe S secure is official app from Samsung for this functionality, but it's not supported on S21 phones.
Secure folder is not the same, as it creates new instance of the app, but you can't like create a shortcut to the secured app directly to the home screen, it's always secure folder, and then picking up the app you want.
So I'm looking for suggestions what to go with, if there's any way for similar functionality.
I'm using applock. You can also use face unlock.

Hi,
How is the camera integration with the Apps like Snapchat, Instagram or Google Duo. Does the experience/quality really better? Like IPhone?
''because Samsung also announced that it’s going to opening up its camera’s SDK so third party developers can start creating apps that draw on the camera’s full range of features''

Is the feature already available? I'm lazy about Android because apps implementation with camera used to be really bad...
No one has the device yet ?
The Instagram integration into the stock camera app is part of one of the first updates pushed to all S10 phones, from what I recall. I just hope it's an optional setting and not something that greets me every time I fire up the camera app.
I got a p30 pro as a gift in China and coming from a Pixel 2XL, this software is incredibly frustrating.
My 3 main annoyances are:
1. Google Pay doesn't seem to work. Everytime I try to setup my card, an error message says "Can't complete setup for contactless payment. To resolve this, you'll need to contact...." This is so annoying, why bother allowing the app to be installed in the first place? In Settings, you can even choose Google Pay as a default payment app.
2. Notifications do not persist on lockscreen. E.g. when using Spotify, the playback controls show up initially on lockscreen, but disappears shortly after. Once a new song starts playing, the controls show up again. Same goes for all kinds of notifications like email, messages, etc. They do show up after unlocking the phone, but even if I don't dismiss them, I can't see them on the lockscreen. I've turned on the Show on lockscreen option in all the affected apps, but no dice. I disabled face unlock and that doesn't help neither
3. Google assistant. In settings, the Access with Voice Match toggle is greyed out, so there's no way to trigger assistant unless by opening the Google or Google assistant app.
Searching these forums has been pointless, no one seems to know how to fix these issues. Now Huawei doesn't even allow unlock bootloader and root anymore....
Has anyone found any workaround?
Thanks and have an awesome weekend
Hello,
I have Realme X2 Pro with succesfully installed Lineage OS 17.1 + magisk + fakestore + microg. Microg self-check - everything checked except "UnifiedNIp do not have Location to test Geocoder." is not checked.
Google account added (new without any information about me, just for the purpouse of having google account).
Google device registration enabled
Google cloud messaging enabled and 2 apps registered (tested on Push Notification Tester - everything works, although Whasapp notifications not delivered from time to time)
Google Safety net enabled with third-party server
I have Gcam camera app version 5betaFinal.200510.2111build-7.3.020 with GCam Enable Aux All Device V2 module installed in Magisk and also stock Lineage camera app version 2.02.037 (58-00)
Problem number one:
I use this calorie intake app that works perfectly, but it has a feature with which you can scan a barcode to add it as a part of a meal. It is called "Kaloricke tabulky" from Dine4Fit. Thing is when the camera inside an app lounches the scanner (seems like that is in the app, it doesn't open external app or camera app), I point at barcode, perfectly in focus and it does nothing. I tried to open stock camera and read the barcode with the stock camera app QR option and it reads it (shows the numbers of a barcode), as well as simple Barcode Scanner by ZXing Team from Aurora Store.
Can anybody help me with that please?
Problem number two:
Every app I downloaded from Aurora Store work smooth and with no problem, even my banking apps which is awesome, but only one app called Liftago (something like Uber), version 2.89.8280.8280 , it launches, asking me if I want to activate with my google account, facebook or phone number). If I press the row there I could input the phone number (don't want to pair it with google obviously), the app always crashes. Tried to reinstall it, tried older versions, no luck.
Could it be something with the microg setting or fakestore? Any other idea?
Thank you very much!
This applies to the P30 too. I run an app called AlpineQuest which is GPS map/hiking software. It has the facility to track where you have been within the software (track recorder). Within the settings option I have set the following - Settings - Battery - App Launch - <select AlpineQuest and toggle to Manage Manually> - <select Auto-launch, Secondary launch and Run in background and tap OK>.
However, the track recorder gets stopped, presumably by the P30 Pro, after a period of inactivity. This doesn't happen on a Sony phone we have. Am I missing any other settings to try to stop Huawei shutting down the track recorder of this app? Or just in general keeping Apps fully 'alive'?
As an update I followed the guide here ....
Stop your Huawei smartphone from killing background apps | Digital Citizen
How to stop your Huawei smartphone from force-closing apps when you lock the screen. How to stop it from deactivating your antivirus, parental controls, voice recorder, fitness tracker, or navigation apps.
www.digitalcitizen.life
And my P30 Pro is set up as per that guide which includes setting the Special Access which I did not mention in the post above.
Strangely I have another GPS app which also tracks and is set up the same way but that manages to track routes without issue
Additionally try this (of course 'lock' your tracking app):
Hello all.
If I look on the internet for "Android auto alternative" then I get apps for on phone itselves, that use phone screen.
For unrooted android smartphone.
I want to know if their is a (prefer open source like f-droid apps) real alternative for android auto, that shows apps on the car entertainment system (in my case a Subaru from 2020).
I don't want android auto because:
- I need to install google apps, but I removed as much google and huawei apps as possible on my huawei mate 20x 5G.
- google decide what apps are accesssable/supported by android auto.
-with every android auto app update it is fingers crossed if the used apps are still available (for example Signal app suddenly gone from car screen).
So what none google app can I use to get my phone screen on my car multimedia system that supports android auto.
You can try MirrorLink if supported. But there is no other alternative as far as I know.
Unfortunately.
