Will my Z1 get bricked if I try to root the .257 with Kingo ROOT?

The title says it all: will my Xperia Z1 get bricked/wiped or damaged in any way if I try to root the .257 version with Kingo ROOT v1.1.1?

Not at all likely. At the worst it just won't work. If you ever have anything go wrong though you can just repair through PC Companion anyways

But people have tried rooting the .257 before with Kingo/vRoot/360 Root, right? And what happened to those that tried it?

I tried that and nothing happened
Find .ftf stock ROM for your phone and do a clean flash via flashtool. If you still have warranty take it to repair center.

Thanks I think I have sussed it thanks to DooMLoRD and his posts, SEUS didn't do anything it just told me my device was up-to-date, I have downloaded and installed the FlashTool and a new ROM 4.2.2. Bingo it updated my device, Thanks. :good:

Because you look like flashed a custom kernel that don't have the WiFi and Bluetooth files. So that's why. If you really did that or deleted the files in system/etc/firmware/wlan/prima try to flash stock ROM again.

Just go to Update Service within Pc companion. There must be an option Repair my phone or something. it will do a clean install of the os. Beware - it will wipe all data on phone so backup first.
