After trying all the ICS roms out there, I've come to the conclusion that my auto rotation and proximity sensors simply do not work within the OS itself.
Flashing back to a GB ROM confirmed that the the sensors are definitely working. And they work fine in 3rd party apps running on ICS... But neither auto rotation nor "screen off when in call" work at all.
It seems from a quick search that I'm not the only one with this problem (http://code.google.com/p/ice-cream-sandwich-sgs/issues/detail?id=224).
Anyone know of a fix?

Sensors working fine
With TH CM9 ICS running on my device i've no issues with the sensors. All working fine.
Did you try this ROM as well?
Never faced any sensor issue, ROMS tried Slim2.7,2.8,2.9 Team ICSSGS 2.11,3.1,4.2
Whenever I click a potrait photo the camera lags for a second and no button works during that time. September update is here but the problem still exists. Is anyone else experiencing this type of problem ??? What can be the possible solution ? ???
my problem is the fingerprint icon that appears on the display off, sometimes it has a different brightness, the problem I thought was the Miui 10 but it also happens now with the Miui 11, I also did a reset but the problem persists, someone has it noticed or is it just my problem?
Add fingerprints again it helped for me.

Hi All,
Does anyone have an issue with always-on display after upgrade to Android 11?
Issue - the always on display switch off after some time (let's say one hour).
I have everything set:
- Always on display for the whole day
- No save battery option
- Turned off battery optimization for Lock Screen
But the always on still works for some time only. It worked perfectly before upgrade to 11.

Hi all,
Does anyone else get severe system lag after using android auto with this phone? Android auto works fine however the screen of the phone is incredibly laggy after unplugging from the car and the only way to fix it seems to be a full restart.
im hoping it’ll be fixed on 12.5 as EEA is still on 12.0.11.
Same here. Poco M3 Pro on miui 12.0.11 EEA.
It also lags when im using 4G/LTE with 90Hz screen refresh rate.
Lag after disconnecting android auto seems to be fixed on 12.5.1 Enhanced on the EEA channel for note 10 5g.
