Yesterday I purchased the LG Optimus 2x however after a day or so of use I notice that sometimes when I tap on an icon etc. it will not respond and I have to tap it a second time. This happens every 5 minutes. It seems I don't have a touch sensitivity issue when using downloaded apps. (I may be wrong). What is my problem? I have to also point out that my hands are sometimes a bit sweaty? Could this be the cause? Should I return it and get another one?
Upgrade to the latest version of the firmware and you should be fine. As I recall this used to happen on the first few versions of Froyo. (Android 2.2)
If you already have updated, I guess you can try another Launcher.
You think so?

Alright. So you're sure it's not my phone? Aswell I cannot update my phone to stock GB since the LG update tool says my phone is already updated. However it's on android 2.2.2? When will the update tool be up and working again, I really want the update And I don't want to void my warranty by rooting. (Although I have rooted my two previous phones, HTC Dream and HTC Hero.

I cannot be sure without physical access to the device. All I can say is that this used to happen on the early Froyo versions, and disappeared after a few updates. I'd say it's a strong indication your device is fine and that the firmware is to blame.

Well, that's a bummer. I searched a bit and found information that Fido has upgraded to 2.3, but as a OTA update. Have you tried that? (Settings/About phone/Upgrade... or something similar.)

Within the parameters you've given (no rooting) I guess the only options left are to take it to a Fido retailer and tell them to upgrade it for you or exchange it for another model, or search the internet high and low for a smartflash or kdz-rom (official p990hn firmwares) you can flash.
I think you should contact Fido about the matter in some way or other. The Fido O2X GB release should be out by now (27. jan.), so someone forgot to flip a switch.

Exactly! It should be out! It's rediculous that it's not updating. I already messaged LG and today I will be speaking with Fido. This is very frustrating, especially with the glitchy firmware I have to deal with 24 7. Thanks for the help

Most definitely. LG software is really crappy and CM7 is very smooth indeed so you might wanna try that.
Also you could try GO Launcher, maybe that improves your phone a bit.

Same problem here. Unfortunately still after switching to Miui. Same problem.
Now I wonder: Is it the screen or the system that lags and causes this issue?
Anyone else receive this OTA this morning? I didn't see, or look for, a detailed change log before proceeding with the OTA push. Phone rebooted and is optimizing apps right now. I'll provide further details once it finishes.
I know, for sure, that I checked for new software within the past week or so and there was nothing available. I've been up to date with OTA upgrades since getting this phone on day one of its release.
Anyone know anything about this upgrade?

Probably just updating security mostly since we were a few months behind. Could also be preparing our phones to take take 6.0 update since there's usually a small update before a big one. Wouldn't hold my breath on it though

Don't try to apply this update if you've applied one of the leaked insecure boot images (for getting a root prompt). There's a check of the boot image built into the updater and if you attempt installation it will wipe your phone back to stock.
D**k move Samsung, d***k move.
I was a fool to initially think that the update juuuuuust might be Marshmallow. And then I thought, "I have AT&T. They would've made the announcement before just releasing the OTA. Hell, they would've made a big deal out of it, even; as if they're doing us a favor. " And so, I took a Valium and went to sleep.
This update seems to break mms for many of the users myself included verified with AT&T that is indeed related to it Samsung is on process of updating. Anyway if you happen to get it just boot your phone to safe mode and then use mms there and restart back to normal, it works after . And hopefully marshmallow will be soon

I'm still getting MMS texts, what was broken?
So far I've noticed my battery life is better than it was before, on the OJ7 update i had a very odd drain as well as issues with my bluetooth and wifi that were only fixed with a reboot......so far knock on wood they seem to be resolved but it should take a few more days to fully confirm. I did also try Enhanced LTE again and just as before I had a nice drain on my battery so they still don't have that working great yet (my area has weak LTE and switches between LTE and 4G on a normal basis).

Factory reset might be your only option till the update hits, tough luck
Prior to the Pie update on Sprint I had the capability using simultaneous voice and data. The Pie update disabled that. Is it possible to flash the previous baseband? And does anyone have it? I need the capability to work. It would be greatly appreciated.
It wasn't active on Sprint's Note 9 back in Oreo, there was a "loophole" that allowed you to enable "calling plus". Sprint decommissioned calling plus back in September and the Note 9 Pie update closed off the hack so someone needs to either find another no-root method or we'll have to wait for Sprint to enable VOLTE.
The Note 9 is still capable of talk'n'surf. You can see it in action when you flip on wifi calling, make a wifi call, and turn off wifi while still in the call. It hands the call off to the LTE connection and you're able to talk'n'surf.
I'm surprised that VOLTE hasn't been enabled on the Note 9 yet since Sprint has it running on iPhones and Galaxy S phones. I'm sure they'll flip it on but the wait is annoying.
No lie my note 9 could share surf the web and share internet connection while in call as long as it was outgoing. It stopped working after the Pie update. So I downgraded to Oreo but the capability wasn't there which makes me think that the baseband software was changed. So if I can flash to a previous baseband (if possible) that should do the trick. I wasn't able to do call waiting but I'm willing to make that tradeoff. Does anyone know if it's possible to downgrade the baseband software?
Off topic, has anyone had a problem with phone app stop working after updating to pie?

I guess nobody heard me lol. Are there any sprint users who recovered VOLTE by downgrading to Oreo? If so what steps did you take? Any help greatly appreciated.
Just found this, and I have your answer. Using Odin, you can flash back to Oreo for your carrier. I did this to recover my voice and data, using Shortcut Master to enable it. Pie broke that little exploit, so until Sprint either pulls the heads out of their rear and joins the modern era, or someone figures out the same exploit for Pie, I'm sticking to Oreo.
Yeah I finally got it to work. And who says planned obsolescence doesn't exist. Smh

Maybe that's why Android PIE Looks, Feels, and Acts kind of like the iPhone.

Not only is Google android becoming more like iOS it's also taking more and more information from its users data wise and location wise. I can see myself someday going back to iOS due to the fact Google is starting to take the pi$$.

Hey all, has anyone on AT&T gotten the Pie update yet today (April 4th)? It was supposed to be out today, but I have yet to receive it.
I got tired of waiting. Unlocked bootloader, then flashed global Oreo which updated to pie. You could just flash pie right after now that they post the factory images on Razer developer portal. Only real difference I see is the cell signal shows lte+ and h instead of 4g lte and edge network labels. No dumb att splash logo boot up either. Do yourself a favor and bail from att's slow updates.

I just tested it again and it's working. Maybe you need to flash the firmware again? Or at least flash just the baseband? I'm even thinking about flashing the baseband from the ATT firmware. I'm getting random cell drops on global mr1. Signal is about the same but some areas where signal is weak, it just drops me.

I didn't buy phone outright within one hour of taking it home I was boot loader unlocked , sim unlocked and rooted. No need to call t mobile for anything. I only booted the stock operating system once. Which was only because it was required step in the process. They asked me for help in setting up my phone. I sure if you can remove Google play services and seemed to think the phone wouldn't work without Google play services.
I get the desire for RCS,but it's barely used still... I could see it mattering in the future, but as of right now, meh... I got mine unlocked by sweet talking a rep, but MSM tool is great too! As much as I love the Google feed, I simply have a shortcut for it on my home screen so I can quickly go to it if needed... Honestly, the international variant works so much better for me! Sadly, TMO really restricts software updates for so many Android manufacturers, even aside from OnePlus. By the time TMO approve a software update, new patches and updates have already released on the mainstream side.
Wow...figured someone would have mentioned it by now...but anyway. Nova Launcher has a Google Feed plugin where you can just swipe right and you have the Discover feed. No root required.
As for RCS...not that big of a deal for me. I'm using International on my TMO 6T because I got tired of the SLOWWW updates.
I'm confident the T-mobile techs have noticed your demands here on XDA. They are surely working on your requests.

Yeah, I know about the alternatives but they are just not the same as having a dedicated stock launcher with the feed built in. It just seems cleaner to me.
Right now though, I do admit I cant use RCS because no one I know has it. So I went to Beta 9 and am using CPL with the plug in.

What does sim unlock mean in terms of updates? I am not sure if my sim is locked or not no proper method of testing but omni or carbon ROMs update just fine without official sim unlock. I only used the stock ROM long enough to boot the thing to fastboot to flash the international ROM. I did this inside the t mobile store while they processed the return of my wife's iPhone ten pro or what ever it was. They didn't seem to mind. Odd they let me do it with out the phone being processed yet. Mine was rooted and boot loader unlocked before I got my receipt. Their system was down for processing returns so I was there about an hour.

Yeah but I would think that the advantages of having newer/faster updates outweigh having to use another launcher or having RCS. Honestly, the OnePlus Launcher leaves a lot to be desired. I got rid of it almost immediately after I got the phone after I saw its huge lack of customization. Used Nova Launcher for years and love it. I won't use these betas though. I use my phone all day and just don't wanna run into annoying bugs lol. Hopefully we get a big new stable update soon.
RCS isnt something I really *NEED*. I can see when a message was delivered...but I'm sure we'll get RCS eventually.

Yeah but I would think that the advantages of having newer/faster updates outweigh having to use another launcher or having RCS. Honestly, the OnePlus Launcher leaves a lot to be desired. Yeah, I can understand where you are coming from. However I would prefer the T-Mobile software. Each person has there own prerogative. Mine is T-Mo.

I am waiting on my token so I can get off this slow update T-Mobile schedule. I finally got tired of waiting so I called them up and told them I need sim unlock they did it even without phone payoff.
