Hi,
for a few weeks now, I'm experiencing the Pixel 5's vibration and haptic feedback being a lot weaker than before.
Because of this I have missed calls and can't really use the phone on silent mode which I usually have always on. I tested it by having my gf call me and I could confirm that the phone barely even vibrates. Nothing you could sense with the phone in your pocket.
Also the typing experience suffers due to basically no haptic feedback at all.
Of course I checked my settings, and I have Vibration and haptic feedback on max as always. Also a few times rebooting didn't fix my problem.
I was hoping that April's update would improve the situation, but got also disappointed there.
It's really annoying that such a basic functionality just stops working, I'm desperate at this point and consider to send my Pixel in if there's no correction in the near future

Hi Folks,
Happy HD7 user here, have had it a few weeks and really love it vs my previous phones.
However i have noticed that at varying periods of time that the sound seems to just stop working ? I noticed this most recently with alarms not going off, id often wake to the phone vibrating but no sound ? It wasnt set to vibrate either. When going to unlock the phone (Company enforced policy) the normal button taps also do not sound.
When making a call while the phone is in this state there is no sound what so ever on either end of the phone..
Soft resetting cures, but has anyone else had the same problem.
Phone is running o2 latest firmware (phone is unlocked and on the Vodafone Ireland Network).
I've had the sound stop working for music before, but I didn't try making a phone call or have an alarm go off while it wasn't working, so I can't say if all those things were affected. I assume they would be though.
Soft reset does fix it (until it does happen again, seems to be really random)
I came here looking to see if anyone was having this issue, to determine if it was just my hardware, or if it is software related.
I have noticed that at varying periods of time that the sound seems to just stop working; ie. vibrating but no sound on alarms, and the normal button taps not producing sound when going to unlock the phone.
However, when making a call while the phone is in this state, I can hear the called party fine, but they can not hear me at all.
A soft reboot solves these issues for me as well.
I am hoping that the Jan. update corrects this issue, because I do enjoy the HD7 very much.
had the same problem, it was caused when i set the alarm and the alarm was setting off but could not wake me, so the alarm was like ringing for hours, then when i woke up, i see in my screen the snooze and dismiss buttons. so i press dismiss.. but the all sounds from phone were gone...(rings, notfications, music).. i had to softreset the phone to get it working again.
I think that the problem is that the phone take a deep sleep if you push it off. Perhaps MS reduce the cpu power or clock speed in Standby-Mode to save battery life.
I dont know it shure, but the phone responds same as my old blackstone with installed
nueClockControl which allows you to change the clock speed.
Regards
gc
I'm having the sound issue but soft reset didn't help. Any other thing that I can try to fix it?
Unlike many posts I have read here, when my phone is on vibrate and I receive a call, it just vibrates VERY briefly once. Very subtle vibration - can't feel in pocket or anywhere. Am used to an ancient feature phone that you really felt when it vibrated. Since this is opposite of most complaints on here, could this be a singular hardware defect, or is there some workaround, short of rooting? Anyone else experience this? Thanks.
Just got my ATT version. Two things seem wonky:
1) When on wifi, my signal bars turn grey. I still seem to be connected to the network. I can make calls, get internet, send SMS, access Google services. They turn blue on cellular. Anyone else's is grey on wifi or know how to fix?
2) The haptic feedback causes a buzzing/farting sound coming from the top of the phone. It might be the camera. haptic feedback or any other vibration sounds horrible on the phone. Anyone else's do that too?

1 is normal.
2, yes my vibration sounds a little like a rattle. Seems like at least some of these phones have cheap or noisy vibration motors.

Thanks man. I looked at several demo units from ATT stores and they all vibrate the same way too. I think it's the autofocus mechanism. The haptic feedback seems to vibrate it at the precise wavelength and amplitude to jiggle the camera around, even though it's pretty solid when you tap on the phone with your fingers.
I never use vibrate or haptic anyway so no biggie for me.

Hi,
I've bought new Sony Xperia Z1 a few days ago and overall it's a great device, but there is one issue, which is very annoying for me.
The vibration motor is very loud, but at the same time vibrations are just weak, so that when the ringtone is set on the lowest level, the motor is louder than this ringtone and when I keep the phone in my pocket I can hardly feel anything when it's vibrating.
In the keyboard I've set the shortest possible vibrating time, but it still makes more sound than vibrations.
The pitch of the sound is increasing with the duration of the motor working: eg. when I push home button for one time, the sound is quite low (but still loud), but when I press a few times in a row the sound gets higher and even more irritating.
Is it normal behavior for this smartphone? It's very annoying, because vibration should be discrete way to notify me about incoming calls or text messages. The fact that it is louder than a normal ringtone makes it useless.
Is it possible to fix it via software or is it a hardware issue and I should send the phone to the repair center (i'm afraid to do it, because they've destroyed my phone in the past).
I have the same problem, sometimes it works, but mostly it is making a scratching sound.
I've turned off the vibration when pressing the screen/keyboard, makes too much noise.
It is probably a hardware issue, i want to fix it by myself, because i don't trust the repair centers.

vibration very weak here: if in pocket or on any surface I can hardly feel it
Is anyone experiencing ringtone sounds happening at random times after the Miui global update 13.0.1? Basically Mi11 starts ringing like someone is calling me almost once per hour (even more), but no one in reality is calling and there is no display notification?
You cannot imagine how annoying and unbearable is that your phone starts ringing all of a sudden without a reason...

Anyone?
The Upgrade from 12.5 to 13.0.4.0 mixed up all my sounds and my rigtone was set to the Waterdrop which it wasn´t before.
Also some notifications like Signal Messenger, Business Calendar 2, etc. are silent, if MEDIA volume is set to 0. notification volume wasn´t tied to media volume on 12.5. Also some other notification sounds like WhatsApp are working even with media volume at 0. That absolutely looks like a bug. I´ve already reported this with the feedback app installed on Mi 11.
For me this was a dealbreaker and never again xiaomi, selling it this week and switching back to Samsung.
Cannot express what a disappointment this phone was
On Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 I (and a lot of other users) have also some bigger issues after a big update. Also had some Samsung smartphones before and their phones aren´t perfect either.
Hope you´ll fully enjoy Samsung. Crossing fingers for you.
Had S10+ for 2,5 years, can only say positive words about it so hopefully it will stay like that
My dad's Xiaomi phone playing a sound record of "me and my cousin chatting" for random times. We don't know what kicks that happen. Playing randomly.
Factory reset will help
