Hey guys, I made a touch control module that can make you play games very comfortable. It feels comparable to the iPhone. You can try it.

Oh no and I surely won't. You didn't elaborate on compatibility either.
I have no experience with modules like these but after looking into yours, I do have some questions.
TapSlop is usually set to 0.5px/1px/20px. Yours is set to 2527200, why?
Same with DragMinSwitchSpeed, values I find are usually 50.0px/s but you set it to – once again – 2527200, why?
Same with acceleration, usually 4.000, here 2527200. I'd love to learn what this all means.

This is based on the pixel as the unit. The number of pixels in the mobile phone will be set as many as 2080×1080=2246400. If it exceeds the pixel range of the mobile phone screen, it will be invalid.

it touchscreen app can has works on you're phone i recommend try. it similar iphone game. optimal game comfort.
So I decided to go ahead and try it out..
And guys honestly it works pretty well...
I'm an iOS and Android user and
I'm a professional gamer, i play call of duty mobile on both my iphone and OnePlus 7 pro..
So in game i always saw a huge difference between both.. i always knew something was wrong...
I saw this post.. I tried .... And boom it works
Not just in game but even the default keyboard..
I don't know how to say it .. but i can type just the way i type on iphone now...
Yeah overall touch has improved alot ...
Thank you bro
I'm going to encourage anyone planning to install this to read Timmah's (forum moderator) comments above beforehand. I know the person above is recommending it, but like OP they also are a new member to these forums. If the changes don't make sense it is very likely that it either does nothing or worse, it does something you don't want it to.
Stay safe XDA, your phones carry a lot of important and personal information on them.

sounds coool, I wonder how they want to fix the misssing driver support...
If you read the explanation posted on that forum -
The issue was that they used something called QTV for overlay (undocumented qualcomm driver).

I'm assuming "they" is HTC, which suggests that the driver support isn't missing, it's just not working very well, and Coreplayer have switched to something else.

There is no additional driver or update for the Tytn II, only a new version of Coreplayer which is compatible with the driver already in the Tytn II. This will be on sale in the new year.

Do you mean petition thread?
That petition is much more general. It touches problems with accelerated 3D graphics as well as video playback issues.
None of these are solved yet. I don't see any reason for un-sticky-ing that thread.
Bottom line: No, I don't think that petition will solve anything. But I still like people to know about Kaiser's problems.

Really, you call this good news? This is horrible news. And it isn't even correct either.
They haven't solved anything, they're just used a propriety technology driver to do something that by all means SHOULD WORK with the already existing and used-in-every-normal-program DirectDraw and GDI.
This gives HTC even LESS incentive to fix our problems, since there is now (a particularly bad) workaround.
So now we have to use a custom player we have to pay for to do something our device should have done already out-of-the-box, and it still doesn't solve our GDI, DD, D3D or GLES issues.
You call this good news, I call this a farce.
(And actually, the correct GDI/DD should be able to decide when to actually use QTV and do this internally, just like the KS20 D3Dm driver uses GLES internally)

If any sticky gets removed it should be the "The thread to address ALL TILT-specific questions". What a mess that turned into. It is completely useless. In addition to the length and disjointed topics, many of the questions aren't even Tilt specific. The first several posts should be moved to the wiki, glean what you can from the rest and let that abomination fade into a long overdue digital oblivian! ...nuf said
Back on topic, I think this is good news but the petitioned issue still stands. Core Player will help for encoded video only, and has not yet been released. Until I see it, I am sceptical. Plus it requires an additional purchase for something that should be free. Still, being able to transcode my video library once and be able to play on multiple devices with respectible quality will make it well worth the price.
So I will probably wind up using it if/when it does come out and if it does indeed work, but I still think the petition thread serves a good purpose, if only to make potential purchasers aware of the situation, and also what to expect form HTC support (which is basiaclly nothing).

Good morning to you too. While I always appreciate help and guidance where I can get it, I do not appreciate condescension. I have read the opening posts on many of the ROMs. I did not see where it says "All your DPI questions go here". Also, I've posted on the ROM threads and PM'd a ROM dev but not received any answer yet.

It's that blasted "Words with Friends". She's hooked.
You can't see the chat portion of the app at 160 DPI, you can see it at 120 DPI but then the rest of the TP's UI is too small for her. So I'm looking to get just WWF at 120 while leaving the rest of the Tab's DPI at 160.
Is this something that has to be cooked into the ROM?
Any ideas?

Of course, its an app I dont use. lol. I've never heard of changing the DPI for each app. But maybe you can change it to a DPI somewhere in the middle. I use 140 and it looks great. I've heard changing the DPI can break the play store, but I have never had a problem with it.
Also, I've seen some apps that dont fit on the screen like you describe. Does it do that in both landscape and portrait mode? The ones I have seen only do that in one orientation.

I have tried 132 and 140 only 120 shows all the UI. And it's hard-wired to go landscape on the tablet. I tried to get it to go Portrait with no joy.
Dagr8 over on the SG Note threads has made a "Per App DPI" ROM which is very cool. I want to do the samehting on the TP but I did not know if it was a ROM thing or just knowing where to set the DPI thing; example in "build.prop" file.

Simple answer... the function is not available for the TouchPad and only available for a select FEW devices (phones) as there really isn't a need for the function considering the size of most tablets... you can stop looking or stressing waiting for an answer as that's pretty much it..... its a great feature on my SGS but convincing a dev to do the work for a tablet is quite a task

That looks like its specific to that ROM. It modifies the build.prop file as well as adds a hyb.prop file which controls the different app DPIs. I'm not a dev so I wouldnt know how to add that to the TouchPad. But it looks like it might be possible. That would be awesome to have that modified for the TouchPad though. Especially since our DPIs are all over the place. But as it stand now, I dont think we have that option.

I'm sure it's capable, but there's the interest of doing it that the developers need to have before something like this takes flight. If you could find a developer that is interested in making it happen, then it could be possible. But to be honest, it's really too early in the game to start worrying about it. Still need to start with S-OFF, rooting, custom recovery, ROMs, kernels, etc. If any developer on here could chime in and give their input???
Why on earth would one want to use both cameras simultaneously? I'm not sure there would be a real world use for this. Can anyone think of any?

My sentiments exactly, that's more of a novelty feature than it is useful. It's just something for the manufacturer to day the can do out. Just like 3D cameras and dual screens it's a novelty. In glad sprint decided top keep the phone as it was designed. All I hope for is for HTC to do a better job of realising sources on a timely matter an a quick upgrade to 4.2.2

I'm sure some app developer will create an app that mimics Samsung's functionality. It just seems like a farfetched idea so no one has thought of or even undertaken the development of such an app yet.
Keep your eyes on the play store and the forums, I'm sure one will pop up soon (If not already).

If you're rooted, you can try to use a kernel app and change the cpu governor from Walt to schedutil. I had a similar issue.
Change it like that? I have switch to what you said, but previously it wasn't enabled at all (same like it is now, only with different choice). Do I need to enable or in addition?
EDIT: Oh I do need, because otherwise it wont survive boot. Or do you use any other app that will handle it differently? I am using FKM.

Yeah the 120hz forced works pretty well to reduce lagg but you will get battery drain and you need to turn it on after reboot

Honestly, this phone needs a ROM, a nice custom ROM that has the OOS camera on it.
If that happens the phone will really take off.

Install the app RAM truth from the playstore.
It'll show the memory, it's called swap.
I have a thread in the 8 pro section that has the payload dumper...I really hope it works otherwise for me that's the last straw.

Morning all.
I'm still a noob at this but i unlocked and flash and running pixel android 12 on my Redmi note 10 pro.
I would like to know what security software or apps should i be running? Thanks Gents
Use a Vanilla ROM without Google and the PlayStore for your privacy secure. Use F-droid and Aurora Store with open source apps. Root is also a security risk.
Then use a firewall. Netguard (without root) or Afwall+ (root required). Another way is the add block app blokada. Netguard and blockada together didn't work of course they use both VPN.
A virus scanner isn't necessary. Use our brain and ublock origin add on in Firefox to surf securely.

The comment above yours is just the tip of the iceburg, and still has some "not perfect" suggestions. Security is not something I can explain to you in one day. The above comment:

AOSP still phones to google. To avoid that check out divestos, hardened lineage, do it manually or linux based os which is not android.

Just use firewall network wide, no need to do it on every device. You use sim card?

There are better alternatives and forks of firefox.
Your original question was about security, and the comment above saying "use your brain" is mostly true, using your brain will safe you more than 90% of the time (using your brain meaning dont do or click something you don't have knowledge about. It doesn't mean you are stupid, as technology is not a general knowledge but something you have to learn if you are interested.) Just try to stick with famous foss softwares, try not to root, try to keep your phone with yourself, think hard before downloading or clicking anything. If you really want to boost your phone security, don't insert sim card, and try to stick with phone brands like pixel and flash rom like divest os. Overall android has a pretty awesome security model, you just have to take care of a few things...

But we are talking about redmi note 10 pro, which does not allow that. That's why I mentioned to buy a phone like pixel.

I think it is easier to implement it once on router than each device.

I love your browser, but I disagree with your fingerprint protection column. Phones can be easily fingerprinted as they are so unique, that's why I recommended to use pc for browsing if they can. I checked mull and it did have some unique fingerprint (I dont remember much) but I think it had unique canvas.
Edit: btw do you scrap the internet for any new mentions for divest os?
Edit 2: Also tor browser for mobile does not have and support ublock origin i think.

yes, then in this context, most Xiaomi devices cannot be relocked. And a Pixel is a good suggetsion.

The fingerprinting protection column is rated accurately.
Most fingerprinting test websites just say "you're unique", without giving the full picture.
Firefox with resistFingerprinting (which is what Tor Browser/Librewolf/Arkenfox/Mull uses), attempts to group users into buckets of similar values.
If you check CreepJS in Mull you'll likely see a hit counter of >0, because of someone else having been registed with the same bucket.

It doesn't come with it (Mull doesn't either), but you can add it. Most will say not to add extensions to Tor Browser, but I strongly believe the benefits of uBO are worth it (faster page loads, less untrusted content).

That's why I asked above if the op uses for example sim card. I only use my device at home and don't have any friends. But I think it is a good idea for me to add just in case. It is to combat remote access threat right? Anything else?

I have already added uBO on mull and it works in private mode too.
Tor browser for mobile is always on private mode (expected) and uBO add on is available, but it cannot be turned on to work in private mode, and tor is always on private mode. Am I missing something? Are you somehow able to make uBO work? If yes, I would love to know how.
Thank you!
Edit: Do you mind sharing which search engine you use? Do you have your own searx instance?

I don't know if you missed the notification/forgot to reply, so this is just a ping. If you didn't want to reply, then I am sorry to disturb.
Thank you!
Things like per app network control or per connection data control are nice to have and are better implemented on device than a network/router based firewall.

This is a bug iirc, you can add it just tricky, don't remember how and latest version is sadly crashing due to another bug: https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/applications/fenix/-/issues/40212
