Hello,
Does any one know Nexus 5 power button equivalent in keyboard (physical) question ?
Keyboard is connected via OTG cable.
For eg, If I am on the home screen, how do I lock the phone using keyboard? I already tried ctrl + L, FN + F11 , WIN + L
Also,
I can reach to PIN screen by space + enter and I can enter PIN and hit enter.
But if the PIN entered is wrong, then when I enter PIN again, no input coming to scree. As if cursor is moved away. How can I get the cursor back to PIN entering screen using phsical keyboard?
Thanks.

I just recieved my new Kaiser and love it untill....i tried typing an sms:
- Pressing the "o" key enters the letters "op"
- Pressing the "L" you can actually see it type the letter then it automatically backspaces and deletes it.
- Pressing the "enter" key while in new sms returns you to the phone keypad screen.
- I also notice than when depressing the above mentions keys "o" and "l" and "enter" the orange caps light turns on momentarily. It only happens when those keys are pressed
- Pressing the shif/caps lock and typing does not work with any other letter except that it automatically types "OP" in capital letters and tries to send the message stright after.
HELP PLEASE!
Could this be your problem?

Its interesting, but i never flashed the ROM as the phone came originally with HTC software.
Great.... installed the fix in the link and it worked at fixing the erratic behavior but .... still get the caps orange light when pressing either O, P, L, del or enter. Any thoughts??
Anyone noticed if you mash keys you get the phone to do things? For example pressing on the keyboard R, T, and J at the same time acts as the standby button. I've noticed that there is also another button combo to increase/decrease volume and emulate the Menu key.
First off, why?
Second off, what are these other key combos?

Hello,
I recently replaced the think cable that links the Display to the motherboard on my Droid3. After getting it all back together, I noticed that my touchscreen does not work at all. Everything else is now working great, just no touchscreen.
This is really not a problem because I am using the Droid3 with a special cable adapter and a Wireless Keyboard and Mouse.
The problem is that to use Safestrap 3.05, I need to press the [MENU] button on power up to change roms.
Is there another key on the Droid 3 keyboard, or on an external USB keyboard that can imitate a [MENU] button press? There is a magnifying lens button on the Droid 3 keyboard that does the [SEARCH] button, but thats not what I need.
Is there another way to do this without using the touchscreen?
Thanks...

Try
Power off, Hold M key, Power on, release buttons at
Boot Mode Selection Menu> Scroll down with volume down*button, to BP Tools, Select with Volume UP*button, should boot directly to SafeStrap.

That worked to enter Safestrap, but it looks like the safestrap UI only responds to the touchscreen... I cant seem to use it with the Droid3 keyboard or with a USB keyboard / mouse. Unless I'm missing something.

touch or soft keys, guess I haven't tried keyboard
Hi Guys!
I need your help here.
I dropped my MI3 and now the screen has a crack on the bottom right corner. Along with this, the menu, home and back soft keys are not working.
I plan to root my phone and enable the on screen soft keys. However, since my menu button is not working, I am unable to select "update package" and select the root file to gain root permission.
Is there a way I can root it from a different interface/method so that I can enable the onscreen soft keys later?
Please help!
Bump!
Guys! I have no updates on this!
Flash CWM..root it with supersu.. then enable nav bar

Same thing happened with me.. soft keys not working.. and menu key does not work without root. And you can't root without menu key.. simple solution.. i took a gaming mouse.. that have extra buttons. Connected it to phone.. one of the button worked as the menu key.. went to updater, pressed that button, selected roop zip file and flashed it.
Now i installed pie control and using it to access all the soft key buttons..

That sounds like a practical solution buddy! But can you please enlighten me what a game mouse is and how you established the connectivity b/w the mouse and the MI3?
Sorry for the noobish questions!

Model No. : Logitech MX518
You get back button (right click), home button (middle click), and menu button (forward button on sides)
You just have to plug it in usb charging slot using an OTG cable. OTG cable is also used to plug pendrive to your phone. If you dont have one, buy one. Its usefull. And you dont have to buy a mouse. Just go to a shop, ask him to check if it works with your phone. Do your work and say you dont need it as its incompatible with your phone. Or ask your friends if they have one. You only need mouse for like 5 sec.
use keybard with OTG cable
I had the same problem. I connected a key board to my mobile with an OTG cable and pressed the menu key on the keyboard.
My trusty Milestone's touch screen stopped working (defect ribbon cable maybe - it wasn't exposed to anything unusual).
Since I'm only using it as a bluetooth hotspot I don't need the touch screen that badly since it's possible to navigate most menus using the D-Pad.
BUT it's not possible to go back or to the home screen (or I haven't found out how) so here's what I would like to do:
Map the Back (and Home key maybe) to the hardware keyboard.
I tried mapping Back to the physical search key in /system/usr/keylayout/qwerty.kl
Code:
key 217 BACK WAKE_DROPPED
But it shows no effect :crying:
Can anyone provide help?
