Hi , there's an app which is not working on rooted devices ,but it does work on unrooted custom ROM, called Mpesa App , actually there's two apps by the same company , both of them don't work , basically used for mobile Money . It fails at the first screen saying device is locked.
Am running A11 , Magisk 22.1 and Magisk canary APK , safety net passes successfully
Steps done :
1.basic Magisk hide toggling on
2.Hidden the full package with random(setting name)
3.Deleted Magisk itself
3.Renamed TWRP folder
4.Used Riru + Riru unshare + Riru + XPrivacy
5.Used Riru momohider+ Riru unshare
6.Use isolation mode
7.Used island app
I guess I tried those will add if I remember it , yeah and still I couldn't pass the first screen , any assistance is appreciated .

For the record, I had no issues hiding Magisk from either of those apps. Just added them to the Hide list and they were good to go... Magisk app repackaged with a random name, of course, and no TWRP directory, Titanium backup or other known directories or apps that are used to "detect" root. Other than that I use nothing special (no Xposed type frameworks installed, etc).
In other words, it's perfectly possible for Magisk to hide from those apps.

Before adding the apps to the Hide list I saw the same messages as in your screenshots. After adding them to the list I did not get those messages anymore...

Yeah I don't know what the problem is , I just flashed oneui rooted , and just added the app to magisk and it worked . I still have no idea why it doesn't work with rooted custom ROMs, any idea ?
Test this 2 app & :
1.My Safaricom - not working & not find fix
2.Mpesa - posible fix & works
But this app must Safari sim card.

Hello, Everyone.
Just did a factory reset to my Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 (Black Edition) having Stock Android 5.0.1. Then I performed following steps:
I flashed TWRP 3.1.1 (using Odin) and that went well.
I took full backup in TWRP.
Then I downloaded Magisk Manager v5.3.0 from the official github releases link I got from this forum post. (can't insert link in the post since I'm new here)
Through Magisk Manager, I downloaded the latest Magisk-v14.0.zip
Installed Magisk-14.0.zip from TWRP. It showed no errors.
On rebooting the device, I confirmed root access using Root Checker.
(Here I had to update Google Play Services since they were pretty outdated due to Stock Firmware).
But now in Magisk Manager, I see that SafetyNet Check fails with following points:
ctsProfile: false
basicIntegrity: false
I also noted that I am unable to use Magisk Hide. If I check any checkbox in the list of apps shown in Magisk Hide and refresh the list, it automatically gets unchecked.
I also tried following points:
Disable Android Developer Mode
Use "Magisk Core Only Mode"
But nothing has helped so far.
Is there any way out of this that anybody can suggest?
Thanks in Advance!
I seem to be having the same problem with a Samsung S7
Magisk won't keep any of the settings I change.

Thanks for replying. Do you also see the same SafetyNet Check failures as mentioned above?
Your device is most likely running an unsupported kernel version: 3.4.0.
Magisk Hide does not support this kernel version and Magisk Hide will never work.
The only way you can possibly fix this is by installing a Custom ROM with a Kernel that has been up-streamed and has the missing feature that Magisk needs (mount namespace)

A little correction:
Galaxy S4 I9500 variant (Exynos one) uses Linux 3.4.5 instead of 3.4.0 in Qualcomm counterpart (I9505, etc).

Hi. Couple days ago I was rooted my phone "Oneplus 8 Pro" and after that I was checked is my banking apps works fine or not. Then I tried my banking app called "Yapıkredi Mobil" it was looked fine, then I tried to do some specific request in app today than app said "You cannot do this feature until we confirm you are in secure device." The app is detecting I'm hiding root and doing soft block. I've tried couple methods to hide root. But failed I've share some informations I'll be glad if you help me. Thanks.
Device: OnePlus 8 Pro / ROM: OOS11_OB7(Android 11,stock) / Magisk Canary (f152b4c2,22005) / Kernel( Omega & Stock both tried. )
Installed Magisk Modules: "ADB&Fastboot for Android NDK / MagiskHide Props Config / OOS Native Call Recording Enabler / Systemless Host / Riru / Riru - Enchand mode for Magisk Hide / Riru - LSPosed"
LSPosed modules: xPrivacyLua (Disabled app listing for Yapıkredi Mobil)
About the app: "Yapı Kredi Mobil" it is a well known Turkish bank. Google Play URL
SafetyNet is passed, "Rootbeer Sample" app is passing all tests.
Root is obtained with boot.img patching method, No custom Recoveries.
There is no root related apps, magisk app is repacked with random name.
I tried this xPrivacyLua method from here. App crashes when I enable "use tracking" checkbox. Not worked.
Then I tried riru-unshare method. Also failed.
In every process I made. I rebooted and cleared cache. FYI I can install Netflix in Google Play.
I tried App made by @VD171 called "VD Infos (xda page)" and app given this output to me.

Tried vvb2060/MagiskDedector and it says "init.rc has been modified by magisk" this app also detects root."

Try to activate Smart Notification(Akıllı Bildirim), under settings after login. Probably you will see security warning. And I'm note sure but could be about android 9 vs 11. You are using 9, as I know there is too many security improvements 10&11, maybe you can login because of this.
I don't have an account with this bank, so I won't check. After installing this application and opening it, I was prompted that my device is rooted and there is a choice whether I agree to use with root or exit the application.

It is detecting as you see. But It is doing soft block after login. I cannot do some specific things at app. But thats interesting I wasn't get any rooted warning at boot while safetynet passing, I'm just getting soft block without any warn. If safetynet fails, yes I'm getting same warning.
If it does not hide root in Magisk hide, the first opening of the application informs about root, if it hides root in Magisk hide it does not have this message.
Clear data+cache for app and try to open it, will it alert you about root?
Hi Guys. It's been a while since I've been here on XDA.
I've been trying to log in to Google Chat with my work google account but I am getting the error message "Cannot create work profile - The security policy prevents the creation of a work profile because a custom OS has been installed on this device."
I am not rooted but I am currently running hadesROM v11.0 with hadesKernel-v1.4. (I haven't installed any update for this ROM as I basically quit on modding my phone and was content with the features I have).
I guess, my question is - Is there a way to bypass this error and be able to login with my work google account without rooting or flashing stock ROM?
I am thinking on flashing stock ROM as a last ditch effort but I will be losing a lot of features from this custom ROM.
Any advise or input will be very much appreciated. Thank you!!
P.S. My Bixby button is also gone so I can't get to recovery unless I try to poke something in the button whole. HAHA.

Jokes aside, you should check if Google SafetyNet is passing on your phone! You can download a simple SafetyNet Check App from the Play Store.
You unlocked the bootloader & modified the system, which triggers SafetyNet.
SafetyNet needs to pass, in order for some apps (Banking Apps, Google Pay) & some games (like Mario Kart Tour or Fortnite) to work.
If SafetyNet is triggered, you'll also stop seeing Netflix in the Play Store, and in the Play Store Settings, in the bottom it'll say "Device is not certified".
You can make SafetyNet pass (even with unlocked BL + modified system!), by using Magisk and enabling MagiskHide in its settings.

Hi,
Thank you for your response.
Safetynet does pass and Play Store says it's certified.
My banking apps are also working fine so I managed to stay on this ROM for a long time.
Seems like I'll end up wiping my phone and try other ROMs or flash the stock firmware. I'll keep googling before Saturday comes.

Oof. Ok. As a last resort, you could try Magisk and its MagiskHide feature. In the app you can tell it to spoof to your specified apps.
Dunno if that'll work, but I'm mentioning it because you don't have to reset your system to install Magisk.
Apps can also look for folders like TWRP in phone storage, and then refuse to function. Mario Kart is one of those games that try to search for such folders.
So if you have folders or apps, that could reveal that you're running a modified system, pay attention to that.

What is this deny list? My banking apps are detecting root and is not working. I've enabled Zygisk and enforced it. Added apps to deny list. Yet not working. Any idea
Hello,
I'm using LSPosed 1.7.2 Zygisk with Magisk v24.1 on Android 11 (LineageOS 18.1 on Xiaomi Mi A1) and "Disable FLAG_SECURE" 1.0.1 from lsposed.
I can select which apps to enable for this module clicking on module name and selecting apps.
I'm using "Deny List" on Magisk (disabling enforce) for hiding root (with Shamiko module).

Half your DenyList isn't activated properly. Which means root isn't completely hidden from a lot of apps. Make sure to check all the boxes for each specific app.

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this. I haven't seen this reported yet.
First specs: Unlocked Pixel 6 Pro. February update. Only mods are systemless hosts and usnf 2.4.0 displax mod 1.2. No hide enabled. No google services in deny list.
Opened magisk today and saw there was a canary update. I ran the update. And magisk wouldn't open (flash on screen back to home). Only updated app not boot.
Tried to redeem by:
Reboot
emptying cache reboot (did not work)
Emptying data reboot (dnw)
Installing magisk stable from github reboot (generic app icon no open)
Install magisk last canary (had to go to apkmirror for it couldn't find it anywhere else, works but would rather use official source)
Anyone else experience this with today's? Bookmarked github will wait to update til it shows a further update (unless someone has help for me).
I had the same issue but with originally hidden magisk app.
I got back to the version before the update by removing the hidden magisk (long press, info, uninstall), uninstalled the new canary (same way) and then installed the last version (25206) again.
now it works, all modules are there, all settings are back.
